Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Empire - New thread up soon!

Agreed with what you said. I welcome negative, and opposing opinions, but not the ad nauseum stuff I've been seeing lately.

And thank you Star for presenting that in a good manner.

Although the 3rd person was a tad douchey...

Hi everyone *big mod-like post incoming*

Like a few others, I read or at least skim every single post in this thread. I don't do this because I am a mod, I do it because I think this thread is fantastic. This thread in particular has a number of mods (not just me!) who go on about this thread's merits whenever we talk about the Empire.

But the last couple of weeks, I think things have started to fall off the rails.

I agree with Jay's assertion that there is no need to call people out by name as either aggressors or victims in-thread, so I am not going to do that. But ultimately it is of paramount importance that anyone and everyone can post without fear of being bullied either directly or by exclusion.

This is a general thread about Microsoft news, and I agree no one topic should dominate discussion. But if you feel someone is repeating something ad nauseam, report them. Do not have a go at them in-thread. New members and a diversity of opinions are the life-blood of a thread like this, and VGC forums in general. Obviously I cannot order people to reply to posters they don't like (and I wouldn't if I could), but anything that smells of a broad effort to lock specific posters out of participating is quickly going to become a problem!

This post is not signifying any specific action now, or in the future. Often shining a light on an issue is all it takes to clear it up! So lets keep our attitudes positive, whether we're posting good or bad news from now on!

*Starcraft's personal views not necessarily indicative of any other mod's thoughts*

Honestly, if we start to block out people who think differently to us, this thread is going to become an echo chamber faster than you can say "mate can you hand me that tissue?" Lets welcome people who think differently, even if they are critical of MS's current or past approaches.

As long as they clearly are making an effort to enjoy MS's gaming products, I have no issue with them calling out the flaws!

Perfect post

Ok, I wont ask why.

You're a good poster, so I assume this isn't what you mean, but...

IF anyone creatively re-interprets what I have said to get away with being a wanker by saying "but the mod said you have to welcome people who think differently," I don't think thats going to end well for them. But again, our role as posters is to hit the report button if we feel that is happening.

Ok, my last line was a little extreme and unnecessary I apologize, but don't worry I am NOT like that if you seen some of my posts outside the Empire thread.

Square Enix’s “Secret” Game Gets One More Tease: “STAR” Was Actually “START;” Reveal Tomorrow

Normally I just lurk here because it is an awesome thread, but I cannot help but respond to this.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

Damnit Square Enix what could this possibly mean now? I swore I wouldn't get my hopes up but I was expecting Star Ocean and I wanted it so badly

I used to like Star Ocean, in fact it was one of the best games I ever played on PS1 but the later games felt like they were more geared at cuty anime fans than anything else. I hope it's something totally different than Star Ocean or if it's SO then make it less annoying than the last episode... "mkay!"

It could still be Star Ocean, the background is space afterall, and tri-Ace did say when they got bought out by that mobile company that they'd still make games for consoles. I feel like Square Enix knows that people are expecting them to dissapoint after their last few announcements dissapointed people, so maybe they're purposefully faking us out by making us think they're going to dissapoint again when they're actually going to deliver.
