Exactly shikamaru. We have to all the way back to the PS3 launch for a comparable situation. Black Friday has become larger since then but the data still is informative.

PS3 launched with the second week being black Friday as shown by 360 numbers. The third week and every other week during Dec sold more units. It's all about supply man.

Not entirely, i can pick up an xbox one in australia if i wanted to and it seems microsoft is doing the exact same as sony, shipping units, and claiming they are sold due to demand.

There isn't 2m xbox one's in homes, nor was there 2.1m PS4's in homes also.

Anyways, next year will be interesting when supply overtakes demmand.

And again you know more than the company that built them?  That is speaking about both consoles.  Micrsoft actualyl stated In homes by the way.  I havent heard an announcement from Sony but since theyre more popular in europe id imagine they have sold more than Microsoft so both is likely over 2m sold (Not shipped).

But i suppose we should take the word of a random VGC poster over the companies themselves?

Why not visit neogaf and read through the sales thread, and i can garuntee you atleast 45% of the posters think so too.

Also, Microsoft and sony stated these numbers are in homes, because they assume/know the consoles will sell out straight away, so they can get away with that, it doesn't mean it's entirely true.

And how hyperbole can one person be, if i posted this in the playstation nation thread, they wouldn't have called me out, yet i posted it in here, and get slammed, Talk about not having an open mind.
