Pre-order numbers for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are "two times" the amount Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 saw in their respective launch periods, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said.

Guillemot mentioned the statistic during Ubisoft's Fiscal Year 2013-14 Q1 Sales Earnings call earlier this afternoon.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Watch Dogs are also amongst the top five most pre-ordered games on the consoles, Guillemot revealed.

I don't recall there being large preorder lists in 2005/2006, so this seems like the only logical outcome.

I currently have Watch_Dogs preordered on Wii U.

Well PS3 launched in Europe 6 months later and added almost over 500k week one, so if now we have a global launch PS4 should easily double outsell PS3 launch in 2006.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Well, preorders don't mean anything if supply is the same as it was in 2006. MS and Sony better make more or else the numbers will be the same.

Also, I doubt that he knows the total preorder numbers for EVERY major chain that sells videogames.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
