I know I've already sounded off... quite explicitly... But THIS right here sums up my feelings in a nutshell.. Very well said. To think people such as you (the OP) exist in 2013 is frightening... Good thing your kind is dying off. If you are young, I GURANTEE you inherited your narrow minded simplistic shallow biggoted mindset from your elders. Just look at history. Who fights in wars men, not women. Who is in prison for violence, a lot of men and very few woment. And btw, women have babies, so logically their anatomy is designed to support that task, attracting a mate, having a womb, breasts to nuture. Do women go hunting and fishing or to the beauty parlor. Are they more interested than men in raising children, feeding, clothing, etc. You are problably don't have any children yourself. So take it from someone who really knows women, who have made new lifes with them, woman are not the same as men.


I know several woman who go hunting and fishing that don't go to the beauty parlor. I don't think woman in the game are really that violent, aside from a few circumstances.  The men seem to be more violent in the game.  In recent times, women have been fighting wars with men.  Men and women of the same species share similar psychology and are different, but women will DEFINITELY become violent if they need to.  Which is unquestionably the case for The Last of Us.  

Being honest, none of your arguments are helping me understand your position.  Have you ever heard of "Tomboys"?

What you should realize is that when I say women, I mean a good statistical representation. Just because you know a couple of people that do this or that in no way speaks about the population. Across the entire population very few women compete with men physically. That would be illogical since they would most certainly loose. Are you saying that men and women are the same when it comes to playing baskeet ball, football, tennis, track and field, or even chess, mathematics, physics. No women are designed to be different than men.

I think you made my point? Let's say your correct. Women are identiacally equal to men. The are as tall. Their brains are the same size. They have identical interests, and women have babies. So therefore men and women are not equal at all. Women are superior to men. So you are a sexist by denegrading women by claiming they are equal to men when actually they are in your mind superior. But none of the female characters are really of "a good statistical representation".  They are almost all very high on their hierarchy.  Marlene -> Leader of Fireflies,  Tess is shown to be feared as well for her position.  If you notice when you are walking in the (back alleys)? in the earlier part of the game, Tess is the one that is mentioned.  I'm guessing she is like a drug lord in the game.  As for Ellie, probably only high on the hierarchy due to Marlene being her friend.  They are there because they are probably more violent/determined than the average woman even for the time.  

I said they are similar but different.  Similar == almost same, doesn't mean same.  There are statistical differences in men and women usually, but Ellie is really the only one you can consider to be part of a regular case.  Even Ellie can kill if she's desperate enough, usually with the help of Joel.  

Your "beauty parlor" example was very silly. Going to a beauty parlor is only part of a social evolution.  Social evolution, the change over time of social values (maybe there is a different term)  is happening very rapidly.  How we react towards certain groups of people can change with a single event.  Basically days or even hours could change some of our social values due in part to paranoia.  I think violence would be more of a social value as well as a psychological one.  When we are violent towards others vs being violent at all.  

The reason why men are better at some things and woman at others is because of evolution.  Woman became better at multitasking to care for children while gathering berries and men became more strategic and athletic for hunting.  But they aren't drastic differences, typically these differences are compensated by other advantages.  If you are weak, then make a plan without brute strength.  If you have to use brute strength, attack weak points.

Firstly... This was pretty awesome... and so perfectly presented... Kudos to you... 

Secondly... Evolution is as close to a scientific fact as you can get.. The Theory of Evolution... If you know anything about Science, you know that even to become a theory there has to be overwhelming statistical evidence, after extensive testing over a long period of time with a very large sample size. Don't believe in Evolution because it is a Theory? 

Gravity is also only a Theory. The Theory of Gravity... 

Pretty sure I'm not floating away... I'm more than comfortable putting all of my eggs into that basket... The OP doesn't believe that women are in the same hierarchy as men.. You think he is going to be able to wrap his brain around a concept such as evolution over millions of years? Yea... Good luck with that one (; haha

I honestly think you're the one without the real life experience man. Teenagers are always obscene and disrespectful to elders. And you being sexist and saying "This is an unrealistic portrayal of women" doesn't help either.

From a scientist's point of view: It's better to admit you don't know something and work at understanding it than to just assume whatever makes the most sense to you.  So yes the idea of something coming from nothing doesn't make a ton of sense based on our current logic and understanding, but rather than just assume that the answers from religion are correct I would rather wait for our understanding to improve than just assume we'll never understand it.  

Correct me if I'm wrong... But I'm pretty positive Quantum Physics/Mechanics did prove that something CAN come from nothing. Look it up if you don't believe me... There is no proof that "nothing" even exists... It is a word made up by human beings to explain that which we do not see or understand.. Pretty much what you said in the bold sums it up... Simply because we human beings do not understand why something works the way it does, does not make it the way it is... There is SO much we do not understand about the Universe or how it works... Turning to God to slap a quick fix and easy answer on these hard or near impossible answers works for some people... Unfortunately for most, we think with the logical parts of our brain and thus are always looking for the RIGHT answers... It's so easy for a sheep to simply dismiss Science, and accept things one way and one way only... I'm sorry but my thirst for the truth and understanding is far more profound than simply giving up (believing in a single diety) so I will continue to try my best to understand why things are the way they are until the day I die... and guess what. If I'm wrong, oh well. If I'm right. Oh well. It affects me not.

Ok, you are wrong scientifically. Quantum particles do not come from nothing. The quantum state must exist within a universe. No universe, no quantum mechanics. I have studied this. Yes, all the scientific theories state that there was nothing before creation. You make another logical mistake. Science can not study anything outside of the universe. Science will never know what happened before the big bang. It is impossible. There is no way to measure anything outside the universe. You have an unrealistic opinion  of what science can do. To understand what happened before the universe only reason can be used. Using reason does not mean one does not have a thirst for knowledge. This is common for someone who believes science can do everything. If it could it should end all war, make everyone rich and beatiful, and live forever. It will never happen. The universe will never last that long. On the contrary, logic tells us that if the universe was created from nothing then there had to be a creator. This will never be testable, as the absence of a creator. But having the universe create itself out of nothing is illogical. There are also miracles that break the laws of physics. There are many things that science can not explain, but reason supports.

I saw his cd lecture and it was the most thorough and complete, something you won't get from the atheists. The atheists are hell bent on twisting science to their own ends. They never tell you what they have omiitted. 

 

 

There are other proof for God such as fine tuning. the complexity of life. And ask yourself why billions of people, including intelligent, educated people believe they have a personal relationship with God. There must be something there. It is almost impossible to get so many people to agree to anything.

I have raised five children and know many other parents. They never use vulgarities around adults or in public. How many times have you gone to the mall and seen kids telling their parents, or other adults to f off. I never have. I guess game designers will do anything they think will make them more bucks, like Grand theft auto, low class, bad examples, and lots of money.
