Forums - Sony - Warframe: From PC to PS4 in Three Months

Hopefully a lot of PC games come over to PS4 then, surely if ports are this quick they will be cheap to do too. I think someone said about Day Z coming over

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Its really good to see Sony reaching out to indie devs to bring over what are mostly AAA titles with out a big publisher.

I wonder if Sony is putting any restrictions on the devs like they can't publish to Xone... I hope not as I think that would deter indie devs away I think. Also it would benefit the indie devs more so to be able to put their games on multiple platforms.

MS is putting restrictions to indie devs not publish on Xbone.

- You require a big publisher
- You have a extensive process aprovall for months
- You pay for the patchs and bug fix
- You are not receiving devkits from MS (even if you want to buy one)

Seems like MS will change that to look more like PS4 and Wii U.

I'm pretty sure that one is now moot, actually.

Well... MS stopped that on 360 less than two months ago... I don't know if they changed that in Xbone I'm hope so... these are the biggest complain from indie devs on 360.

In fact this was similar for 360, PS3 and Wii... after Wii U the things started to change with Wii U and PS3 doing a better relationship with indies and 360 staing fixed to the roots... PS4 elevate to a new leval and Xbone continue the same with like 360... now MS stated to change the things on 360 and soon on Xbone.

It is like the Indies saw the better option on PS3, Wii U and PS4 and started a blame the MS conservatism.

"Space Ninjas"

Wait, what?! *Starts downloading WarFrame*

Curb your enthusiasm, kid, becoming a Space Ninja is not a great achievement, actually it's quite easy, almost lame: in space nobody can hear you coming.

Why would they do this? It makes no business sense to me. It wouldn't benefit Sony or the indie developers to do this at all. And indie developers are pretty turned off by Microsoft's stance on indies. Sony's stance is perfect for indies and it shouldn't change

Dear Digital Extremes

It took 2 Vigil employees and 1 week to get Darksiders 2 "running" on WiiU

And 5 weeks to port it over "completely" (not counting changes in button icons and text like "don't turn off your WiiU" etc.)

Porting it to a system with completely different architecture than PS360.

So what Digital Extremes?  :)  Do you want a cookie?

here is the interview:

it was 3 programmers and it took 5 weeks to get a good working build for e3 2011. Vigil games worked efficiently and i believe it was an early dev kit - one of the first given out.
