I've decided that I currently want to go with an Alienware. It has a 3rd Generation Intel Core i7 3630QM processor and 6MB Cache, up to 3.4GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0, which seems alot better than my Dual Intel Core at 2.16 Ghz on my iMac. Also has Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and 16GB RAM DDR3, and a 1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with Optimius. The screen is also 14 inches. It all averages up to $1150, which I am able to pay $35 a month for.

IS IT WORTH IT? This will be my first fully-fledged *gaming* PC, so because it is my first should I go with something less powerful and more cost-friendly? Is there an alternative PC that I should be interested in that is less expensive, perhaps? And will it run Battlefield 4 like a boss? I'm open to suggestions.

Fully fledged PC? You mean a desktop PC? If so build it yourself and avoid Alienware. If it's a laptop, avoid Alienware. And I would say avoid Windows 8 but some people like it.

If you build it yourself the beautiful visuals will come - cheaper. There are plenty of PC gamers here who could assist you in building one, so just be patient. I'm sure guys like CGI will be happy to assist you.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

This seriously avoid alienware, if it is a desktop build it, if its a laptop get an Asus <-----seriously durable as hell I had mine for 5 years before it finally needed some fixing and only had one hard drive crash.

Oh and windows 7 is the way to go, easily mod able

definitely build a gaming PC, you will save money and have WAY better graphics. also if you buy all the parts and dont want to put them together (which you should do, its easier than you think) some electronic stores will put it together for you, im not sure how much though

First of all...this is a laptop...if I am reading the hardware right....

3630QM is a laptop processor.
GeForce GT650M is a laptop gfx card.

The graphics card is way too weak according to this site: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1176&game=Bioshock+Infinite&p_make=Intel&p_deriv=Core+i7-3630QM+4-Core+2.4GHz&gc_make=Nvidia&gc_deriv=GeForce+GT+650M&ram=16&checkSubmit=#systemRequirements

The rating for your gfx card for a game like Bioshock Infinite is 6 out of 10....

CPU and RAM is great but the graphics card sucks.

$1,150 for that? You are better off building a desktop which will be cheaper too. Paying $1,150 for a laptop that claims to be a gaming PC yet cant play any of the recent games....I wouldnt recommend it ;x.

Edit: You probably wont be able to even run Battlefield 3 at high setting yet alone 4 in terms of 60 FPS X_X.

The graphics card will actually be a GTX 765M with 2GB GDDR5, is it still bad though?

It performs around GTX 650 - 650 ti level, so it should be fine, just don't expect any miracles.

Edit: For some reason it shows up as 3 GB vRAM o.O - I wonder if that is a error - but you should be able to still play it at high setting - although not max.

Might be Turbo cache where the GPU sets aside some System Ram for graphics in combination with it's own dedicated memory pool.

I say build a Desktop PC, then buy a cheap Notebook for less demanding stuff on the road.
