Greenpeace is an enviromental organisation but i'm sure most of you have heard of them because of their campaigns and peaceful protests as well as publicity stunts. They focus on a wide range of environmental issues like oil drilling in the arctic, deforestation, fracking and many others and try to get the message about the damage done to the Earth by TNC's and governments across the world.

Today, in London 6 of their members climbed the Shard (tallest building in the UK) to get publicity on the Arctic and the possibility of companies like Shell going their to drill oil despite all the risks of stuff like oil spills and disruption to polar bears. It aimed to get people to stop oil companies from drilling in the Arctic and whether it worked has yet to be seen. But for some reason, i respect the pressure group because their members are willing to risk their own lives just to get a message across and raise awareness. It certainly made people aware of what's happening. This is very important as how we deal with environmental issues now will massively affect our quality of life and our national economies in the near and far future. That is part of why i share this, as i value the environment as one of if not the most important issue we must understand and deal with.

Their actions may be a nuisance to some, but they are straight to the point and educate people about what matters in this wide ranging issue

It isn't perfect but with enough people, great things can be accomplished.
Finally, what do you think of greenpeace?
