For me, yes, it definetely is.
Videogames are too expensive for me today and it´s hard to keep track of more than one home console.
So I´m sticking with the WiiU for multiplaying, since many of my family members do come here to play on it regularly and obviously WiiU is the better choice for game parties. When a big AAA title calls my attention I play it on PC where games are cheaper.
I use my 3ds to play while commuting, since I spent a long time everyday on subway trains and I don´t have much time to play on home console/Pc during weekdays
One of my nephews has a Xbox360 and the other has a Ps3 (willing to buy a PS4). We play regularly at each one´s houses , so I won´t need a second console.
