Forums - Nintendo - Is the Wii U actually anyone's main console?

It's mine, just because I never had a ps3/xbox2. I don't plan to get the ps4 or xbone at launch, but maybe late next year.

It's my main console. I literally haven't turned on my 360 since I bought it. I picked up NSMBU, NL, Batman: AC, AC3, COD:BLOPS2 and Trine 2 with it. Also Xenoblade. I literally haven't had time for any other gaming. For general use such as youtube or the net, going back to a non-touchscreen interface seems archaic. I also don't want to pay for online gaming.

For the rest of the year I'm going to want Watch_Dogs, Batman:AO, Zelda WWHD, COD:Ghosts and SM3DLand. There isn't a lot else that interests me. GTA5 seems cool which I would get for 360. Next year Destiny may or may not come to Wii U, but will come for 360.

So I would say Wii U is my primary console, with my PC or 360 for the odd multiplat that doesn't come to Wii U. I may get a PS4 or a new PC this fall or next year, I"m not sure yet. But right now it would be that system that would be secondary. Things could change as I was mostly a 360 gamer pre-WiiU while my Wii was seldom used, but right now there is a really strong game selection on Wii U and it is just a more fun system to use than 360 with no online fees.

It's my main console at the moment. The 360 is rarely used now.

Once I get the PS4 (12 months after launch at least) I wouldn't really have a main console. Each would have its use.

PS4 - Multi-plats
WiiU - All the amazing Nintendo games.

doing your PS4 a crime if you don't put those AAA first party titles in it as well.  I get them both for exclusives.  I noticed the only multiplats I play anymore and actually keep (sell most of my games after beating them unless they're truly exceptional) are exclusives.  I've kept both Batman games and Skyrim this gen and plan on keeping GTA5, but that's it for this gen.  Meanwhile I have Smash, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Zelda SS, and DKCR on my Wii permanently along with Infamous Collection, Uncharted trilogy, LoU, Heavy Rain, MGS4, Ratchet HD trilogy and PS3 trilogy (before A4O including Q4B), Jak HD trilogy, every Sly, GoW Saga and Ascension, and Killzone trilogy on permanent spaces for PS3 along with some downloadable titles and of course all my Plus games and classics downloaded.

This upcoming gen will be much the same though with more third parties on PS4.  At launch I'm getting KZ and Knack with Watch Dogs and BF4 waiting till Christmas.  When I get a WiiU on BF 2014 most likely I'll be getting it for Mario Kart, 3D World, Smash, DK, and hopefully something Metroid.  1886 and Infamous have already practically got my money just based on dev pedigree (and I love Infamous on PS3) though the Crew has me far more interested than either GT6 or Driveclub with that co-op component and open country.

Well, i don't think it will be my 'main system', but if Nintendo manages to pump out more core games (consistently) at regular intervals then it may command anywhere between 40% to 50% of my attention (with the other 60% or 50% going to the PS4). I might be generous here since PS4 will be my source for multiplatform games and online play, but I am first and foremost a solitary gamer, and I think Nintendo's games excel here ( they do well in MP too).

I have a feeling I'll clock more hours into Smash Bros. Wii U than any other game next gen (based on the trends I set with previous installments).

Nintendo is the king of local MP.  Smash and Mario Kart are unrivaled as was Goldeneye (still fun when I go play it with 3 other people).  Sony used to have TImesplitters and Twisted Metal and LBP are still a blast but it's too bad they don't invest more in this area.

I'll pick up a few PS4 exclusives too. I'm considering getting a PS3 very soon just to play the Uncharted games & The Last Of Us.

Does it matter? Wether its the main or secondary, you still pay the same for it.

Lot's of worth while third party games to play.^

Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Metro, Bioshock, Dead Space, GTAV, etc.

I do not know how it would be anyone's main console, unless it was their only console. 3DS is my main handheld, also, it is my only handheld besides the DSXL I am trying to sell.

lol what

Yep.

Sold Wii/PS3 at launch and might not buy anything else.

No I will own a Wii U and a PS4 I don't want to miss on the good stuff
