definitely miss them, hell i bitched when they were too lazy to do full color.

I love video game manuals.

Sometimes I would just take my game boxes aside and enjoy looking through them for hours :)

Man, I remember the instruction manual for my first game, Starfox SNES. They went to the trouble of doing photos with quite decent model spaceships to mimic a real/movie type look for the pics!

It was a really good manual. I also miss reading the stories. Shame.

I love manuals. The last game with a really good paper manual I played is Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. A full-fledged 51 pages long manual.

I really dig Nintendo's e-manuals, though. Having access to a manual at all times is pretty neat.

I remember when I was a kid and my parents bough me a game. I was like reading the manual on the car back to home with high anticipation. That also helped a lot, since I already knew the commands before starting a game.

Also, when in Christmas you received a game, but your parents were like "Today is way too late. You'll play tomorrow". Well dang, I'll play tomorrow, but I'm sure as hell that I would memorize the damned manual before it!

ikr, reading the manual before you got to play the game was one of the best feelings ever, one game I remembered particualrly well was Commandos 2: Men of Courage

the game was so complicated it shortkeyed the entire keyboard, I took the manual to school and tried to memorise all the short keys during break time, after playing it fervently for a couple of months I actually learned to type without looking at the keyboard.

I used to love reading them until they went mostly black and white in the Playstation 1 days. As the in game tutorial became common, I didn't bother with them at all unless I was playing a fighting game or something.

I only liked the manuals that where manuals and not just some really bad reprint of whats built into the game. Those were pointless and I'm glad are gone. What I want back are the Zelda manuals that had pictures and advice for the dungeons. The booklets that show someone cared they where making a manual.

lol, I do it too, it's like a collector admiring his own collections, I was often amazed at how much effort were put into some of the old manuals, games with magic always have a thick manual because it lists all the spells in the game.

Can honestly say, ive been gaming since the Sega Megadrive (genesis) days and ive never read the Manuals, Also ill be happy when there gone because they arnt needed its easy enough just to put any instructions in the Options of the game, that way you will be saving Trees from rainforests aswell, it may only be a small percent of trees but every little helps :)
