Forums - Gaming - Why Nintendo doesn't need to cut the price of the wii U

First of all it's the cheapest console out there, only the Ouya is made of cheaper quality material, and the cheapest console always win

Second, it's outselling the X1 and PS4 combined by 20k+ every week

Third, it's printing money Nintendo said them-self they only need to sell one game to make a profit with the wii U they sold 3,191,581 games so far so they must be rolling in money

Fourth, if they cut the price of it now that wouldn't be fair for the early adopters and you know Nintendo doesn't like being unfair with their fanbase that's the reason why their games stay full price for the entirety of the gen.

Fifth, with the lack of games on the platform adopters of the wii U are bound to save a shitload of money, it's a pay now to save later kind of thing

Sexth, the wii U is far more innovative than any console of the 7th gen and we all know innovation cost money, look at the X1 compared to the ''more of the same'' PS4 it's 100$ more innovative. The wii U is 50$ more innovative than the PS3 and X360

The haters might tell you Nintendo is Doomed but they actually dominating right now.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Hah witty and clever esp the bit about innovation.

That was amusing

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

You can't think of it as they only need to sell 1 Wii u + a game then they make a profit, they have to make a big enough profit to cover thier expenses and right now they are not.  Its the cheapest for a reason, it is the weakest console.  Idk how its outselling the PS4 and X1 when they are not even out, if you are only using pre-orders to say this then that is completely off, preorders are usually always less than actual sales, especially considering most people have cut preorders on the X1 because the demand has overtaken the supply.  Also about being unfair to the early adopters I just have 1 thing to say...3DS.  Idk how innovative the Wii U really is, they haven't come out with any games that use the gamepad in a way that makes me think, omg I have to play that.

Nobody is talking about Wii U because there are no system sellers on Wii U. No 3D Mario, Smash Bros. Mario Kart, or Zelda. The Wii U, as much as I hate to say it, needs a price cut or a deal around the holiday season. The Wii U will most likely sell the best this year due to the lowest price and Black Friday. Nobody is going to put a sale on PS4 or Xbone because they will have just come out. Nintendo, along with Sonic, Mario, DK, Pikmin will easily take this year. I'm worried about what happens in 2015-16 when all their major 1st party games will have been released.

And let's get real. All these gamers online that are raving about PS4 and Xbone is misleading. Yes, there are a lot of people online talking about it but what matters is what happens to parents/families in the store this holiday season. Nintendo will probably have a Super Mario 3D world commercial campaign out during the holidays which will boost Wii U awareness. Plus, imagine, since Nintendo is such a "kiddy" company, a mother and father walk into walmart looking for a present for little Jimmy. They want to spend as little as possible. They see the Xbone and their wallet cries in fear, count that out, mind as well buy a PC for that cost. And your PC won't spy on you. Then they see a $299 Wii U and 3D World, 4 players and say "cheap n' Mario... WIN!" I know this won't be the scenario for every holiday Wii U buyer but I have seen it happen before.

The Wii U will be fine. Just give it some time. PS3 and Xbox360 didn't sell very well initially either. The haters just want Nintendo to fail because they don't make "grown up games" with blood, guts, and profanity and they won the DS vs. PSP era, the Wii vs. PS360 era, and are currently winning the 3DS vs. Vita era. Of course a company so successful and open to praise is also so open to negative criticism, it is to be expected. Wii U will find its crowd and no, it might not be the best selling console this generation. Yeah, I'm putting it at 3rd place but what matters is how profitable a company is. Sony didn't start profitting off of PS3 until last year while the Wii and DS basically printed out money for Nintendo and it was legal!

If you don't have the funds to back your ideas you won't stick around much longer. We know how much money Nintendo loses on every Wii U sold AND what it takes to become profitable again... 1 game. We know not how much PS4 or Xbone loses nor what it takes to get back to profit. Neither has a claim as bold as the one Reggie made. It doesn't do any good to sell millions of consoles if you aren't making a profit and that is where Nintendo has found its strength. Their first loss in 100+ years was this year! Who else can say that? The only reason was because overpriced hardware due to high production costs. Once the Wii U can be manufactured without a loss Nintendo will be sailing along and that goes for Sony and M$. I don't really hate any console. I can appreciate what each has to offer. I am just doing Nintendo some well deserved justice after taking a media beating from uneducated "analysts". In the end profit is all that truly matters... the end.

I don't know if I should be amused or sad because people take this seriously.
