Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will Microsoft's next generation controller look like this?

There will be two next Microsoft controllers.
Firstly a gesture upgrade for the PS3. Then the controller for Xbox 3.

One or both of these could be your hands.
Yep, the console will look at what your hands are doing in space. No buttons, no plastic.

They can do it. They are looking at it. It is just a matter of if and when.

Typical cash-in attempt by a third-party controller developer. I knew it would happen eventually. Shortly after the NES pad came out, you saw similar controllers pop up for PCs. After the N64 and DualShock came out, so too did PC controllers with analog sticks. This is just history repeating itself.

At least this one has a unique implementation. They get credit for trying to improve on existing devices, rather than just slapping the same components in a new shell.

looks bad and like a rip-off of the Wiimote

You're saying they didn't just slap the same components of the Wiimote into a new shell? 'Cause it sure looks and sounds like that. Except there's no mention of whether it has an IR camera or not (for that price, it'd better).
