What the... 35 GB? As in Thirtyfive Gigabytes?

Probably inflated due to the Steam preload needing extra space to unpack. But Shogun 2 is like 20GB (after some extra DLC content) and Rome 2 is a much much bigger game.

Wow 35 gig is a surprise. I'm used to at most 20 gig, usually around 10-15.

The rest for recommended is pretty low and no worry.

one of the games i just have to buy at retail because of the size and my internet connection lol.

I don't have a cd drive on my computer.  Would need to buy one first, and figure might as well just buy like a 1tb hard drive for $50 instead.
