Far Cry: The Wild Expedition is an anthology coming out on the most romantic day of the year

Comments1

Romance is stabbing a tiger in the face and skinning it to make a fashionable bag. It's stalking an enemy, silently, and then shooting it in the head. It's parachuting off a huge mountain, landing in an enemy base and then burning everyone with a flamethrower.

So I can't think of a better day than Valentines Day, February 14th, for Far Cry: The Wild Expedition, collecting Far Cry 1 to 3 and Blood Dragon, to launch.

Hmm I was going to do a most anticipated of 2014 poll but 10 (9 after the other option) options makes picking a list a pain

This is my shortlist

The Witcher 3

Titanfall

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Wasteland 2

Watch Dogs

Dark Souls II

Alien: Isolation

The Evil Within

South Park: The Stick of Truth

Is my current thoughts for top 9 picks for the poll they all seem to have some buzz

maybes

Pillars of Eternity (will probably slip to 2015 so...)

The Witness

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Thief

Divinity: Original Sin

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

2015 titles or not confirmed for PC don't bring em up

Tom Clancy's The Division (aparently)

Star Citizen

Destiny

Metal Gear Solid V

So what do you guys think is the top 9?

I'm hyped about Dragon Age

Witcher 3 is only game I am hyped for. Watchdogs much lesser extent. Nothing else, barring p.c. release of GTA 5. CES reveal of Steam machines dissapointing. Most are way overpriced.

ah okay, just wasn't sure, my old card I don't think ever got anything like that hot but it was a pretty low end one!

cool cool, I'll wait a bit then

haha, thanks :p I watched some reviews of it online before I got it so I knew it would be the right one, I got it on offer as well so it was only like £200 (it's not on sale anymore and is back at like £280, so pretty chuffed!)

is it worth upgrading from 8GB to 16GB of RAM atm?

For gaming? Nope it's not worth the jump right now.
With that in mind, DDR3 prices are still climbing, if you have the cash, I would personally make the jump.

fair enough, I'm considering it cause some of my games are real RAM hogs (notably The Sims 3 and Football Manager which both hit 40%+ memory usage when in game), it's not hugely affecting playability yet but I can imagine future versions of the games causing me problems if I don't upgrade at some point!

most looking forward to Titanfall and Watchdogs and The SIms 4 on PC this year, probably get new sports games and the like on PC as well if I can, better graphics is a big thing for me, I like my games to look freaking awesome when I play em!

You need to be realistic about Ram quantities though, more Ram doesn't actually make your PC faster as it does no form of processing or accelleration, it just prevents your PC from slowing down when the system memory is full thus making your PC fall back to virtual memory.

Even if a game uses 7Gb of Ram, Windows will start unloading what it has cached, giving more memory available to your game.
With that in mind, the more Ram you have the more Windows will cache, Windows 7 right now on my system has 25Gb of data in it's caches, granted my PC hasn't had a restart in 2 months...

Reason people should make the jump now is mostly out of price, because I epect DDR3 Ram to double in price before DDR4 launches, heck it's already doubled once already from just a year ago in Australia.

As for which game I am most pumped about, it has to be Dragon Age 3 for me, it's been a long while since I have enjoyed a good RPG, here is hoping that Bioware hasn't ditched modding support and hasn't dumbed down the game more for consoles and I'm wishing for a Steam release like the first two games.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

My take on several news:

@Alien_ It looks like this new Alien has been recieved quite well. It's refreshing to see the property being used as a survival horror game (which fits nicely) rather than a shooter.

@Steam Controller_ Those impressions sound like what I was expecting. It plays as odd as it looks. I think I'll stay with mouse+keyboard for some games and a traditional controller for others. Not that I'll get a Steam Machine, though.

@Razer's Project Christie_ As a concept it's astonishing. But will it be practical? I doubt it. Not only it does look expensive, but since all the hardware is encapsuled in those pods and submerged in mineral oil, that means that every single piece of hardware must be bought to Razer. And after following some mods and scratch builds featuring mineral oil, I thought one of the biggest problems with it was its weight. And that thing doesn't look very sturdy.

@Anticipated games: I don't know. The Witcher 3 is one for sure, and I'm also interested in WatchDogs (albeit the WiiU version interests me more due to the things they could do with the Gamepad).

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

anybody have any recommendations for the BEST pcu, gpu, and memory monitor apps for my computer?

Double Dragon: Neon rocking out on Steam soon

Comment

Double Dragon: Neon, previously only available on Xbox 360 and PS3, is making its way over to Steam, and how excited you are about this fact very much depends on how much importance you put on nostalgia, because for all the rocking tunes and polished presentation, this is still Double Dragon, and the game design has not aged well at all.

As a journey through time, travelling back to when simply walking across a screen punching people with a mate was all the rage, it's a hoot though. If you can grab a chum who also remembers the era when we lived in simpler, punch-ridden times, then you could very well find yourself having a lovely evening of brainless brawling.

30 minutes of Prison Break: Dreamfall Chapters edition

Comment

There are only a few games that I consider important to me, truly treasured possessions and experiences that had a substantial impact; The Longest Journey, and to a slightly lesser degree its sequel, Dreamfall, are two of those games.

Ragnar Tørnquist and co. created two huge, fascinating worlds and tied them together beatifully with nuanced characters, clever puzzles and a powerful, compelling story that drove the adventure forward. It's a critical series for not just adventure games, but video game narrative, and the fact that the story has been allowed to continue through Dreamfall Chapters makes me indescribably pleased.

Red Thread Games have put together a 30 minute demo video, showcasing Kian's - one of the previous game's heroes - escape from Friar's Keep, which was also featured in Dreamfall. Beyond the joy of seeing old characters and old haunts, the video is an encouraging glimpse into a game that, while only in alpha, is already looking rather excellent.
