New Titan X just got announced... Wtffff. Why sooo soon???

I surmise that Pascal will be a short generation and that Volta won't take almost 2 years to arrive. There won't be a 1080 Ti (with only 50% more RAM, the new Titan X is essentially a 1080 Ti with a "Titan"-price tag). Pascal feels more like a shrinked Maxwell than a new architecture.

So I expect the first Volta GPUs with HBM2, better async compute and full DX12-compatibility next summer.

Around the Network

I'm honestly surprised by this new Titan, and not only for sharing its name with the former one.

I simply don't get why is Nvidia launching this card now. They don't have competition in the high end market and can't supply enough GP104 chips to meet the demand for its 1070/1080 cards, and yet they launch this card now? And a card that's not even 50% more powerful than the 1080.

I don't get it.

Juri, who was originally introduced in Street Fighter IV, is a sadistic expert in taekwondo who takes advantage of the ki booster called the Feng Shui Engine that she has in her left eye. It's as good a place as any to keep these things, I suppose.

NECROPOLIS WILL BE UPDATED TO ADDRESS LAUNCH CRITICISMS, DEVS PROMISE

http://www.pcgamer.com/necropolis-will-be-updated-to-address-launch-criticisms-devs-promise/

As far as concepts go, Necropolis is very appealing: it's a third-person rogue-like inspired by Dark Souls, with an emphasis on thoughtful combat. Tyler reviewed it earlier this month and, despite enjoying parts, found that the good aspects were "weakened by long boring stretches, clueless AI, and snickering obscurity."

http://www.pcgamer.com/league-of-legends-teases-new-champion-kled/

After weeks of weird poster teasing, Riot Games has officially revealed League of Legends’ newest champion—the rider and mount duo Kled.

The announcement was made during the EU LCS stream—following the week eight, day one game between Fnatic and Splyce—where a teaser trailer showed the one-eyed, beard-sporting, pirate hat-donning Kled (who looks a wee bit like a cross between existing champions Ziggs and Gnar), as he’d reunited with his mount on the battlefield.

NO MAN'S SKY TRAILER RUNS THROUGH MINING AND TRADE

http://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-trailer-runs-through-mining-and-trade/

The third trailer in No Man's Sky's 'Guide to the Galaxy' series focuses on trade. We see some gathering, some mining with a tractor beam laser thing, and mildly disappointing asteroid destruction (the rock instantly splits into smaller pieces like it's from Asteroids).

Let me guess, Geforce GTX Titan X the ultimate is a single GPU chip card, correct?

The number of consumer that can afford this is even lower than the ones that can buy a 1070 or 1080, cards that people want to buy but can't do it because there's not enough stock of them.

The Titan/-Ti crowd are looking for a really worthy upgrade, and for HBM. I don't think they'll fall in love over this card. Don't be surprised if you start seeing posts like "I'll wait for the real Titan" and such.

That is the real Titan and I don't think enthusiasts care so much about HBM2 when they want delivered performance ...

That's what Nvidia says

Everybody was expecting HBM2.0 to be used on the new Titan, and some even hoped that ot would come on the 1080Ti too.
