Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland told us last year that he has never been “more energized, enthusiastic, excited, and motivated” about anything in his life—including his “TV show stuff”—than he is about VR games. We showcased the best Scrap Mechanic creations back in January, but now those creations, and probably loads more, are on the Steam Workshop, where people can more easily access and rate them. To whack those creations into your game, or to export your fine work to the internet, you'll need to physically access lifts inside the game, which is a nice touch.

Although Visceral's Star Wars action adventure isn't due to release until 2018, writer Amy Hennig broached the topic during an appearance at Star Wars Celebration at the weekend. The third expansion for Star Wars Battlefront will release this September, and thanks to the Star Wars Celebration day in Orlando at the weekend, we now have footage of it. As you can see in the trailer embedded above, there's lots of war going on in stars, but as far as the raw facts are concerned, here they are: both Chewbacca and Bossk will be playable, there will be new maps both on ground and in space, as well as new weapons and star cards.

STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC’S NEXT EXPANSION TEASED

In the teasiest of teases, Bioware has revealed Star Wars: The Old Republic will expand in the coming months, courtesy of its incoming Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion. Following on from the story-driven Knights of the Fallen Empire, the latest entry will apparently feature “more of BioWare’s trademark cinematic storytelling, as well as exciting new game features.”

I don't see the async compute issue as very troublesome. Pascal is already a great improvement over Maxwell and by the time it will actually become mainstream Nvidia will have a competitive product.

That's what they did with Tessellation, only this time they're a bit late.

I have a faint hope that they will improve the Async even more with Big Pascal. Would suck if that big push for AC actually happens and I'm stuck with subpar performance for a few years.

I don't really think the Titan P/1080Ti will be more optimized for ASync. It would be a waste to only redesign those chips for that. They'll probably wait for Volta to do it.

And, while more and more developers will use DX12 & Vulkan (less), DX11 will still be the main API in the coming years. I'd say that Async won't be the reason you'll upgrade whatever card you get.
