The Titanfall 2 "worldwide reveal" won't take place until June 12, but the release date picture is now a little clearer, sort of, thanks to Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen. As reported by DualShockers, Jorgensen said the giant fighting robots game will be released roughly three weeks from Battlefield 1. And we do know when Battlefield 1 is coming.

Elite Dangerous has been patched to prevent rogue NPCs developing their own hybrid superweapons. To be clear, these weren't weapons they were crafting from recipes—the AI was building entirely new WMDs beyond the scope of Elite's weapon tables.

Steam numbers Part 2

I found out today that Steamspy gives an estimate of the total number of active Steam accounts, their estimate is at 170 million:

Therefore I adjusted my own estimate of 4 million growth each month since Valve's last official number (125 million in February 2015) to 3 million growth each month.

From these 170 million active Steam accounts, 143 million are DX11-compatible and 121 million are DX12-compatible:

37 million of these PCs should be at least as fast as a PS4.

I tried to find a middle ground in that system selection: some badly ported games can give problems, but on the other hand some good optimized PC versions run as well as the PS4 version with the popular GTX 750 Ti.

Would I include the GTX 750 Ti, that number would go up from 37 million to 42 million PCs in the ballpark of a PS4.

15 million of these PCs should be VR Ready  (14 million, if we kick out the GTX 780).

@Conina: I wonder why Valve stopped giving those numbers :-/.

Three million new users each month is still very good, and now we'll be able to see the impact of the new cards on that total.

@zero: The number of users playing F2P games is growing faster than the number of users of paid games. Therefore, I wouldn't use that graph if you want to rebate that assumption, it may backfire.

After my previous comment, I realized something (yes, I'm that slow)

The GTX 1080 Founders Edition is $699, that translates to roughly 789 € over here, a 13% increase.

If we apply the same percentage to the GTX 1070 and its $379/449 price tag, we end with a card that will cost from 425 to 510 €! That's insane!

Suddently, AMD's $199 RX 480 that will translate to roughly 225 €, becomes a better looking upgrade path (or the 8GB model, that even if it costs $249 it will be about 285 €).
