So it's kind of an item XD

Oh, and thanks for the explanation.

No problem - I dislike this system though because it forces me to equip the spells instead of using them which can make battles annoying.

Thankfully summons are unlimited as long as they dont get KO'd while trying to summon them.

It does sound like a broken system.

Luckily, they changed that after that game.

Wtf, well now I understand why people hate FFVIII. What a stupid ass system

This is why i never come back to play FFVIII...

^How far into FF VIII are you, Basil?

Anyway, I have two bad news:

1-I won't be able to post the news today .

2-Don't expect much from AMD's upcoming cards

Exclusive: AMD Radeon R9 480 based on Polaris 10

http://videocardz.com/60232/amd-radeon-r9-480-based-on-polaris-10

We have all been waiting to hear more about Polaris GPUs, so today I’m pleased to tell you that we finally have some confirmed information.

Everyone (me included) was wondering if AMD is going to market Polaris 10 as R9 490 series. Should AMD decide to use Polaris 10 for 490 series, competitive performance to higher-end cards would be expected. Should AMD use P10 for 480 instead, we would expect good performance per dollar, competitive mid-range solution and R9 390 series replacement.

Well today I can finally tell you that we have confirmed through our independent sources that AMD is launching Radeon 470 series and 480 series in the next few weeks, and that Radeon 480 series are based on Polaris 10.

AMD has been very secret about Polaris GPUs to its partners. Company has only started sharing detailed information just few weeks ago.

The lack of concrete information has definitely affected the production of custom Polaris boards. What’s interesting is that AMD has not even allowed its partners to show prototypes at Computex. It means that — at best — we can only expect presentations of new cooling solutions, but nothing that could be called officially named after Radeon 400 series, unless… AMD changes its mind.

>>If true, this would pretty much confirm those rumors about Polaris 10 being as fast as the 290/390 cards and, if that's the case, they better price it for less than $300, or else Nvidia will destroy them with the GTX 1070.

Excited to get the 1080 and dump my GTX 770 2GB into the toilet and repeatedly flush. Hopefully MSI, Gigabyte, and EVGA come out with their models speedily and in sufficient supply. Wondering what the factory preset over clocks will be by them.

About 65% into the first disc/part I would say.

There's a total of 4 discs/parts.

I smell a 50 part series?

Family things. Let's leave it that way.

Also, a couple more hardware news:

AMD Zen Delivers Double The Performance Of The FX 8350 – Zen 8 Core CPU Die Shot Revealed

http://wccftech.com/amd-zen-cpu-performance-double-fx-8350/#ixzz49VHobP00
Also interesting: https://semiaccurate.com/2016/05/22/38688/

AMD has revealed that Zen will have double the performance of the FX 8350 and will trade blows with Intel’s eight core i7 5960X Extreme Edition. Not only that but a die shot of “Summit” what will be the basis of AMD’s long awaited next generation high performance FX Zen CPUs has finally been revealed.

AMD has finally published additional performance figures for Zen beyond the 40% IPC improvement over excavator that the company talked about last year. The 40% IPC uplift figure represents the architectural performance per clock improvement of Zen vs AMD’s last CPU architecture, code named Excavator. And while comparing the architectural capabilities of zen to Excavator may have been informative, it doesn’t offer a direct real-world product to product comparison. Thankfully, we do finally have direct real-world performance figures for Zen.

Compared to AMD’s “Orochi” quad module, eight core die powering the FX 8350, the Zen based desktop Summit Ridge eight core CPU delivers double the performance in Cinebench R15. This means that a single Zen core is in effect equivalent to two Piledriver cores in performance, which is incredibly impressive. This dramatic performance difference comes from the significant architectural performance per clock improvements in addition to Zen’s simultaneous multithreading capability.

It’s important to remember that AMD’s latest Orochi dies feature Piledriver cores rather than Excavator. Excavator cores are roughly 15% faster per clock than EXcavator. This in turn puts Zen at a lead in excess of 60% vs Piledriver in terms of performance per clock. Doubling the performance of the FX 8350 puts Zen in direct competition with Intel’s eight core i7 5960X.

Along with the performance numbers that we just discussed above, AMD has also published a wafer shot of the company’s upcoming eight core “Summit” die.

>>Let's wait until real reviews appear late this year to give those intention the credit they deserve.

AMD Radeon R9 480 3DMark11 benchmarks

http://videocardz.com/60253/amd-radeon-r9-480-3dmark11-benchmarks

You guys gave me no choice, so here are the benchmarks of Polaris 10.

Please note: codenames aka ‘Driver Names’ were shown before Futuremark removed this line from result page. Results vary by 20% while 3DMark shows the same clock, so lower scores were either run with older, unsupported drivers, or higher scores simply show overclocked scores. You are the judge here. I didn’t want to post this because I simply could not confirm which results are showing stock performance.

>>I don't like to take conclusions based on synthetic benchmarks, but it would fall in line with the previous rumor.

OCULUS RIFT APP UPDATE KILLS MULTIPLATFORM "REVIVE" HACK

http://www.pcgamer.com/oculus-rift-app-update-kills-multiplatform-revive-hack/

YOOKA-LAYLEE UPDATE REVEALS SCREENS, STORY, AND DR. QUACK

http://www.pcgamer.com/yooka-laylee-update-reveals-screens-story-and-dr-quack/

It was just over a year ago that the Banjo-Kazooie-inspired Yooka-Laylee walked away with more than £2 million ($2.9 million) on Kickstarter, an especially remarkable achievement given that its goal was £175,000 ($254,000). Things have been pretty quiet since then, but developer Playtonic Games revealed today that the studio has tripled in size over the past year, relocated, and "quietly slaved away on what would become the final form of Yooka-Laylee."

CROTEAM DEVELOPER SAYS TALOS PRINCIPLE 2 "IS GOING TO HAPPEN"

http://www.pcgamer.com/croteam-developer-says-talos-principle-2-is-going-to-happen/

The Talos Principle was a game that really clicked with me. I'm not even very good at puzzle games normally, and I rarely have the patience to get far with them, but this one pulled me in on an emotional level; its philosophical musings may have dime-store shadings, but I was happy to buy into them, especially wrapped as they were in Elohim's soothing voice, the bright, beautiful game world, and all the ridiculous secrets it had hidden away—which actually had a reason for being there.

ELITE: DANGEROUS ENGINEERS ADD-ON ARRIVES NEXT WEEK

http://www.pcgamer.com/elite-dangerous-engineers-add-on-arrives-next-week/

Elite: Dangerous' Horizons season pass gets another string to its bow next week, and yes, for the purposes of this intro, Elite: Dangerous' Horizons season pass is a sort of violin. That 'string' comprises the Engineers add-on, which adds loot and crafting to the enormo-space sim, along with NPC engineers to take your loot and do your crafting for you. You'll be able to improve your standing with these NPCs, in exchange for better stuff. It sounds like a pretty worthwhile add-on, and it's being added to Horizons as a big old patch on May 26.

A MAJOR HOMEWORLD: REMASTERED UPDATE IS ON THE WAY

http://www.pcgamer.com/a-major-homeworld-remastered-update-is-on-the-way/

We gave Homeworld Remastered a glowing 92 score in our review last year, which is as it should be. The original Homeworld was a brilliant piece of space opera, and so “Homeworld, but prettier” is about as close to a sure thing as you're going to get in this business. But it turns out that Gearbox isn't done with it yet: An in-depth Fist of Heaven report says a team at the studio has spent the past six months working on a major update, which is now close to completion.

OVERWATCH'S COMPETITIVE MODE WILL (HOPEFULLY) BE BACK BY THE END OF JUNE

The decision to cut competitive play from the Overwatch open beta, and the full release of the game, was about as last-minute as it gets. But it sounds like it won't be gone for long: Game Director Jeff Kaplan said in a Q&A video posted today on Facebook that he hopes to have to have the mode back next month.

RON GILBERT STILL WANTS TO BUY THE MONKEY ISLAND IP

http://www.pcgamer.com/ron-gilbert-still-wants-to-buy-the-monkey-island-ip/

Ron Gilbert, creator of The Secret of Monkey Island, really wants to make another Monkey Island game. He's pursued the cause quite publicly, writing last year that he'd reached out to rights holders Disney. Despite Gilbert always envisioning the The Secret of Monkey Island as a trilogy, Disney nevertheless displayed no desire to part with the property – though they've licensed it out in the past, most notably to Telltale Games.

SEGA HAS A QUICK FIX FOR TOTAL WAR: WARHAMMER CRASHES

http://www.pcgamer.com/sega-has-a-quick-fix-for-total-war-warhammer-crashes/

Total War rages in the Old World, but some players are struggling to feel the heat of battle. Due to launch-day server load, "a few hundred" players are failing to connect, causing a crash. Never fear! Sega is on hand with a quick and dirty fix: set Steam to offline mode. I did say quick and dirty.

Even better news than new info about Polaris GPUs ...

Here's an article (from Forbes!), explaining it: http://www.forbes.com/forbes/welcome/#113866e67b7b

And to balance those news, some rumors about Nvidia

Rumor: a GP102 GeForce Titan and GTX 1080 Ti are in the works

http://techreport.com/news/30174/rumor-a-gp102-geforce-titan-and-gtx-1080-ti-are-in-the-works

Nvidia may have revealed the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 recently, but it's a fair bet the lineup of 10-series graphics cards won't stop with those two models. A new rumor from the prodigious leakers at ChipHell suggests a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and a new GTX Titan are both on the way, along with a GTX 1060 at the lower end of the market. Here's ChipHell's rumored spec table:

If ChipHell's information is in the ballpark, the "big Pascal" for consumer GeForces will be called GP102 (as friend of the site Rys Sommefeldt guessed at in his analysis of the Pascal architecture). Presumably, the new GTX Titan will get a fully-enabled version of this chip, and it could have 3840 stream processors on a 478-mm² die. That's more SPs than Nvidia puts on the GP100 chip that drives the Tesla P100, but it appears a GP102 Titan will maintain the same 1/32 FP64 throughput as the GM200 chip in the Titan X. We're guessing GP102 will omit dedicated FP64 hardware as part of its slimming-down compared to the enormous 610-mm² GP100 die.
