THIS IS THE POLICE TRAILER ASKS A HARD QUESTION ABOUT THE NATURE OF CORRUPTION

http://www.pcgamer.com/this-is-the-police-trailer-asks-a-hard-question-about-the-nature-of-corruption/

This Is the Police is a game about a mostly-honest cop named Jack, the chief of a small-town police force, who's been unceremoniously told by the entirely-corrupt mayor that he'll be out of a job in 180 days. Jack's retirement carries a pretty hefty price tag: He needs to have $500,000 in his account before he's shown the door in order to finance the lifestyle he's accustomed to. What will he do to get it?

LANDO WILL (FINALLY) JOIN STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT IN UPCOMING BESPIN DLC

http://www.pcgamer.com/lando-will-finally-join-star-wars-battlefront-in-upcoming-bespin-dlc/

I never understood the logic of adding Lando Calrissian's co-pilot Nien Nunb to Star Wars Battlefront as a hero character while Lando himself remained conspicuously absent. But that strange situation will soon be corrected: EA announced today that the smoothest operator in the galaxy will be joining the lineup later this spring.

CONSORTIUM: THE TOWER HAS BEEN FUNDED ON FIG

http://www.pcgamer.com/consortium-the-tower-has-been-funded-on-fig/

Consortium: The Tower did not fare very well when it took its act to Kickstarter earlier this year, but the crowdfunding campaign on Fig is an entirely different story. It only got underway a week ago, and yet it's already hit its $300,000 goal.

>>Fig better than Kickstarter?

OCULUS RIFT EXCLUSIVES ARE NOW PLAYABLE ON VIVE WITH THIS OPEN SOURCE HACK

http://www.pcgamer.com/oculus-rift-exclusives-may-be-playable-on-vive-with-this-trick/

Major new gaming platforms usually come with their own exclusive software, and that holds true for the Oculus Rift. Cutesy VR platformer Lucky's Tale and Oculus's Dreamdeck demos count among the headset's exclusives, but it doesn't look like they'll remain that way for long: someone has already figured out a way to get them running on the HTC Vive.

>>Great for Vive users (temporally), but I'm sure Facebook/Oculus isn't happy about it.

BATTLE.NET HIT WITH DDOS ATTACK, ALL GAMES BRIEFLY AFFECTED

http://www.pcgamer.com/battlenet-hit-with-ddos-attack-all-games-briefly-affected/

You might have noticed earlier today that Battle.net was playing up, preventing you from accessing the Overwatch closed beta (or, you know, all those other games Blizzard is responsible for). It turns out the downtime was due to a malicious DDoS attack, but Blizzard has confirmed that services are back to normal.

>>I'll never understand why they do this.

GUILD WARS 2'S SPRING UPDATE COMING APRIL 19

http://www.pcgamer.com/guild-wars-2s-spring-update-coming-april-19/

All is not roses in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. Community members are disgruntled, be that in relation to delayed or missing features, how loot is awarded or a perceived focus on the gem-buying players to the detriment of the rest. Hopefully news of the Spring Update will be a breath of fresh air, sweeping away cobwebs of resentment from April 19.

SEE THE OLD WORLD UP CLOSE IN TW: WARHAMMER'S LATEST SHOWCASE

http://www.pcgamer.com/see-the-old-world-up-close-in-tw-warhammers-latest-showcase/

Is it bad that on watching Total War: Warhammer's showcase for the Old World my first reaction was to wish for a big-budget Warhammer RPG? It's not that I expect Creative Assembly's recreation of Warhammer's commanders and sword-swingers to be anything less than enthralling; it's just that their take on the Old World looks so good that I want to be up close exploring instead of commanding armies.

MIRROR'S EDGE: CATALYST CLOSED BETA DATED; SOCIAL PLAY DETAILED

http://www.pcgamer.com/mirrors-edge-catalyst-closed-beta-dated-social-play-detailed/

The closed beta for Mirror's Edge: Catalyst will go live April 22 and last for five days, closed April 26. If you've been selected and you're a Mirror's Edge 'Frontrunner' (suitably dystopian speak for being signed up to the mailing list), you'll receive a code April 22. Those selected but not on the mailing list get in April 23. Unfortunately if you've yet to register for the beta, sign-ups are now closed.

IGGY & SCORCH JOIN PARAGON'S ROSTER OF HEROES

http://www.pcgamer.com/iggy-scorch-join-paragons-roster-of-heroes/

Paragon is coming on apace, with Iggy & Scorch bringing the total heroes to 15. That's right—they're one hero, not two. Iggy is a pyromaniac goblin-thing, while Scorch is his oil-spewing steed.

The suspense for the new consumer based GPU's is killing me.

Holy shiz wtf is up with QB's visuals? I'm not talking about performance, just the way it looks is so off, mainly during bright scenes. In the dark i guess it looks okay but bright scenes make it look awful

That can be because of some known bugs or the filter they put to make it more "cinematic". In the FAQ that Remedy published a couple days ago, they mention them and that they are working on it.

FAQ: http://community.remedygames.com/forum/games/quantum-break/261576-quantum-break-status-update

Light Flare / Blinking Lights
This is a known issue. A permanent fix is being introduced in the next Title Update in the near future. For now, the problem can be resolved by exiting and re-launching the game.

Film Grain
This is an artistic choice from Remedy Entertainment. We wanted a cinematic look for our game and “film grain” is part of that look. Depending on the brand of TV you use or if your Xbox One is connected to a monitor, the film grain can look very different. Always use “Game Mode” on your television if such a feature exists. Make sure you adjust your sharpness setting down on your monitor or TV as well as the brightness setting in Quantum Break.”

Image Quality
We are working on giving users more control to turn on and off features like film grain. We love the artistic choice for our game, but we also want to give PC gamers more choice and this will come in a future update.

Hopefully, that will be resolved soon.

I notice the filter thing at any time, don't think it's the same thing. With a lot of light there's like this crazy fake sheen specially noticeable on people, particularly their faces. When the MC and the (paul? i think that was his name) meet it looked like they were made of wax or something
Maybe it's a combination of everything, motion blur, IQ problem and the filter

I don't have the game so I don't know exactly how it looks, but the way you describe it, it could be the Light Flare / Blinking Lights bug that they mention.

I'm starting to doubt about it too, to be honest.

Maybe the 1080/1070 will be a big upgrade over the 980/970 but just a minor one compared to the 980Ti. Like the 1080 being 40% faster than the 980, but only 10-15% faster than a 980Ti.

And the same goes for AMD, with the 490-/X being a nice upgrade over the 390-/X but only a minor one compared to Fury X.

Damn you pessimists!
that said, a card with the 980Ti/FuryX performance for the price of a 970/390 wouldn't be that bad for me.

NVIDIA GeForce Hot Fix 364.96 Driver Adds Support For DOOM’s Open Beta

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/nvidia-geforce-hot-fix-364-96-driver-adds-support-for-dooms-open-beta/

NVIDIA has released a new hot fix driver for its graphics cards that adds official support for DOOM’s open beta. Do note that there is no SLI profile for DOOM. Our guess is that the game won’t support multi-GPU setups, something that also happened in all titles that were powered by the previous iteration of the id Tech Engine. Actually, this hot fix does add SLI support for id Software’s title.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture has just been released on the PC and it appears that a lot of gamers are facing performance issues with it. We can confirm that the game on its max settings it’s really demanding as it runs with 60-70fps on our GTX980Ti. However, these performance issues frustrated some users who claimed that The Chinese Room hindered performance on the PC after the publisher forcing the development team to make the game look less appealing on the PC than on the PS4.
