I feel as though we're entering a period of what could be a "civil war" within the PC space with the way things are starting to unfold.

But who's on MS' side completely XD?

fans of course lol and the odd few bought devs/companies.

I don't know why but for some reason I wanted to tell the guy on the right to just shut up because out of the other two guys, all 3 were using facts but the guy oon the right was trying to play an outward upfront devils advocate for MS. We don't need any sort of advocate, what MS did in the past didn't catch on and never worked with all the backlash and that was a solid fact now we're seeing it again today and like one of the guys said "you'd think they would have learned and caught on to the stuff they did back then that never worked".

MS is pretty much trying to aim for that closed walled garden consolized market with all the trestrictions and trimmings, there is virtually no "upside" to any of this like at all and even if you find a few upsides, it doesn't make it much better than losing what we've always had for decades, especially the eco-system itself, trying to change and tame a system that has always been open and free isn't really objectively better, it's subjective and it's MS trying to bend parts of the market to their will with their ideas. Seriously there is honestly no need to play devils advocate for MS, they don't need one, just give us what we want and we're cool.

I don't think he's trying to play devil's advocate for MSoft, but just trying to present all the info to the other two and to all those who were watching or listening.

Oh, and I think he is Ryan Shrout, the one who made the PCPer article that has caused all of this talk, so he knows what he's talking about.

I know but just the whole "lets try to give one to MS, give them a chance at this", I mean why should we though?, they've had years to sort this out and make things right and they only chose now of all times due to them tanking in terms of image and the console space.

I'm just saying that he has first hand info on all this and that maybe he knows things we don't... or he simply wants to keep the doors of MSoft open so he can talk with them again in the future.

I know that this situation is not an accident and that this was MSoft intention since the beginning, but it's possible that they didn't expect this furious reaction (like they didn't expect the bad recepcion of GFWL or the backlash they got from their payed online intentions on PC), and that things can change.
