It's a pain in the arse, yeah. But I wonder, tho, if this may end sooner than anticipated because of outside causes.

We've heard from Microsoft that they have hardware waiting to be installed because they have no capacity for it, and in one of the latest News Roundups from Gamernexus they mentioned how there are new datacenters in the US completely empty because they have no power. The US power grid is, in a way, obsolete and they don't have enough electricity to power all those AI centers they're planning to build.

So, unless they're confident that they can build those data centers in other countries with neither political nor electric problems, this whole business may have to hit the brakes sooner than expected.

One can dream, right?

They are building power plants, too, boatloads of them (the AI capex fraction being destined to electricity is equal to decades of that of companies in the field!).

It's connecting them to the US grid that is the slow part, with a lot of bureaucratic and labor bottlenecks due to the aforementioned low investment rates. Only a few data centers + their attached power plants so far manage to be truly off-grid, which would be ideal for Amazon, MS, etc.

I figured they'd do something like that. After all, there were news about MSoft or someone else wanting to buy a nuclear power plant to power their servers.

The things they do to put crappy AI agents on Windows that hallucinate and bring troubles.

Oh, well, let the doom fall upon us.

I think that's a unique case specific to the USA... Europe, Oceania, Asia are all rolling out huge data centers for A.I without the same dramas surrounding energy.

Plus... Like what Musk did, they can get "modular" Diesel generators to temporarily power these data centers whilst new electricity capacity gets installed if they were super desperate.

Just Cause 3 Unlimited Edition Is the Definitive Way to Play the Game on PC
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/just-cause-3-unlimited-edition-is-the-definitive-way-to-play-the-game-on-pc/
Modder ‘Luke JC’ has released a must-have mod for all Just Cause 3 fans out there. This mod brings a lot of tweaks and changes to the game. As such, it’s a must-have for everyone who wants to replay it.
Going into more details, Just Cause 3 Unlimited Edition makes a lot of gameplay changes. For instance, it increases the grapple range by 50%. It increases the time it takes for the wingsuit camera to auto-align, and it adds a spawn menu to the pause screen. The previously unused police aspects have been returned. The bavarium wingsuit rockets will now act similarly to Just Cause 4.
A lot of Rico’s movement has been improved. He won’t fire the grapple by accident anymore when he misses in midair. You can also stand on vehicles at steeper angles without falling off. The wingsuit is faster and easier to control, and the airbrake works better. You’ll notice better maneuverability with both the wingsuit and parachute, plus quicker reel-ins. Skydiving is faster, too, and Rico now has more control in mid-air and jumps higher depending on his speed.
All main characters to show up outside of missions. You can even call most of them into your car, drive around, and hunt some bad guys. You can now find all kinds of Black Hand vehicles parked at their Lacrima bases, and mission-exclusive areas are now active and accessible in freeroam.
And there is more. Location changes are now much smoother. You won’t notice low-res towns, cities, or bases in the distance as much anymore. High-quality trees also show up from much farther away, and the 2D trees are now almost unnoticeable. The few 2D trees that do appear have been changed back to a better-looking version from an older beta build. The game’s model budget has also been increased, which fixes the rare issue where objects would disappear when too much was happening on screen.
In total, we are looking at over 200 tweaks and changes. You will also find 60 new vehicles and 25 new weapons.
This is the definitive way to play Just Cause 3 in 2025. And this is only possible on PC thanks to mods. So, if you plan to get your hands on it, I highly recommend using this mod. You can download it from here.

First HD Texture Pack Released For GTA 4 RTX Remix
https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/first-hd-texture-pack-released-for-gta-4-rtx-remix/
Modder ‘Warcaco’ has released the first HD Texture Pack for the Path Tracing RTX Remix Mod of Grand Theft Auto 4. This is a must-have for everyone who wants to play the game with this new Path Tracing Mod. So, let’s dive in.
This HD Texture Pack is 1.2GB in size and improves a lot of textures. At the end of the article, you can find a comparison video between the vanilla and the modded textures. You can also find an 11-minute walkthrough video.
Sadly, though, we have some good and some bad news. The good news is that the new textures look absolutely amazing. Most of the roads and pavements now look sharp and more detailed. Warcaco has also improved a lot of vehicles and numerous buildings.
The bad news is that there are still some textures that have not been improved. As such, it can make the game feel a bit inconsistent at times. One moment, the game will feel like a modern-day title, and the next moment, you get those ‘PS2-like’ textures. It sucks, but there is nothing you can do right now. Let’s at least hope that Warcaco will keep working on it, and that future versions will improve even more textures.
Those interested can download the mod from this link. Naturally, you’ll also need the RTX Remix Mod (you can find its download link here).

New Final Fantasy 7 Remake Mods Allow You To Play As Two Of The Game’s Bosses
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/new-final-fantasy-7-remake-mods-allow-you-to-play-as-two-of-the-games-bosses/
Final Fantasy 7 fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘DOD3NieR’ has released two mods that allow you to play as two of the game’s bosses. These bosses are Dune and Rufus. Both of them come with their unique moves and skills, making them really fun to play.
For those who don’t know, Dyne is Barret’s friend you encounter in the game. On the other hand, Rufus is the president of Shinra. He is also the leader of the organization that employs the Turks. Players will fight both of them as bosses in FF7 Remake.
As I said, both Dune and Rufus have their own skills and moves. In other words, these are not mere skin replacers. There are some limitations, though. For instance, Dune cannot execute his large scrap arm, mines, or tentacle attacks.
Now, while these mods are not 100% perfect, I’m certain a lot of FF7 fans will find them cool. So, if you wanted to replay the game with a twist, you can go ahead and try them.
You can download the Dune and Rufus mods from here and here, respectively. To install them, you’ll simply have to drop the files in the “FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTHEndContentPaks~mods” folder.
>> There is an over 3 minutes video of Dyne.

New The Witcher 3 Mod Fixes 5,750 Bugs, Restores Cut Content
https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/new-the-witcher-3-mod-fixes-5750-bugs-restores-cut-content/
Modder ‘MerseyRockoff’ has released a new mod for The Witcher 3: Next-Gen that fixes around 5,750 bugs. Moreover, it restores content that was cut from the game.
Brothers in Arms is a huge collection of 5,750 bug fixes and restored content for The Witcher 3. It covers the whole main story and both expansion packs. These fixes include quest fixes, dialogue fixes, restored hidden content, gameplay tweaks, journal fixes, graphical fixes, placement fixes, and much more. Version 3.0, which is the latest Ultimate Edition, was rebuilt from the ground up using the official REDkit editor. It adds hundreds of upgrades to the original mod’s fixes and over a thousand brand-new fixes and restored pieces of content.
As said, this mod will also restore content that was cut from the game. For instance, it will restore NPCs that were never used. It will restore items, books, and glossary entries. It even restores 250 lines of dialogue. This number includes one-liners, gameplay lines, full dialogues with NPCs, and even some full cutscenes.
With the Ultimate Edition, BIA now has a mod menu with many options. You no longer need to download any “Optional Content” separately. All restored content that some players might not want can be turned On or Off directly in the in-game menu. The menu also includes other helpful settings, and you can choose to enable or disable optional extra mods, like the Boat Races.
In short, this is a must for everyone who plans to replay TW3. So, if you are one of them, you can go ahead and download it from this link.

The second part of the gaming news:

Escape From Tarkov player makes world-first escape from Tarkov
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/escape-from-tarkov-player-makes-world-first-escape-from-tarkov/
I'd always assumed that Escape From Tarkov was just a catchy name and not something anyone could actually do—unless you're speaking metaphorically, I suppose: The bullet that frees you from the weight and horror of this cold, rotting world, and all that. But no, you can escape from Tarkov, and just over two weeks after the game finally went into full release, someone did it.
That "someone" is Tigz, a longtime Tarkov streamer who accomplished the feat on December 1. Developer Battlestate Games confirmed on social media that Tigz was in fact the first to get the job done.

Attention survival game sickos: you can be among the first to playtest the sequel to one of my favorite survival RPGs
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/attention-survival-game-sickos-you-can-be-among-the-first-to-playtest-the-sequel-to-one-of-my-favorite-survival-rpgs/
I loved 2019's Outward. The fantasy RPG from Nine Dots Studio embraced survival in a way few RPGs do, making everything from casting a basic spell to packing for a trip between cities a methodical and thoughtful process. Even its permalife system, which sounds forgiving—you don't die if you lose a fight, you lose consciousness and wake up elsewhere—meant you had to live with your decisions and failures, no matter how painful they were.
Here's some exciting news for all you survival sickos who loved the challenge of Outward: you can play Outward 2 this month. Not the whole game: that's planned for next year. But you can take part in the Outward 2 playtest that will run from December 9 - December 15. The alpha playtest will let you visit one of its cities, Haboob, and the surrounding region of Bellowgale.

IO Interactive recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its flagship series Hitman, which has certainly been on a journey. (...)
"Of course there will be more Hitman," says Abrak. "But right now, I think we need to get to the other side of this year and next year you'll get more news about Hitman co-op, because I think co-op is a really, really good extension to the universe, and will introduce very interesting mechanics and combinations in World of Assassination. But we will, after that, be talking about the next Hitman—because, of course, there's going to be a next Hitman."

Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games will be in serious trouble if its next release isn't a hit: 'It's make-or-break for sure'
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/shovel-knight-developer-yacht-club-games-will-be-in-serious-trouble-if-its-next-release-isnt-a-hit-its-make-or-break-for-sure/
Shovel Knight was a major indie hit, with more than three million copies sold, an "overwhelmingly positive" rating on Steam, and a brand so recognizable it's spawned spinoffs and crossovers with games ranging from Bloodstained to For Honor. But in the 10 years since Shovel Knight first appeared, developer Yacht Club Games has struggled to produce a full-on follow-up hit, and in a new interview with Bloomberg, studio founder Cris Velasco says it will be in serious trouble if its next game isn't a success.

Epic bans indie horror game Horses just one day before launch due to 'inappropriate content', despite having approved that content weeks ago
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/horror/epic-bans-indie-horror-game-horses-just-one-day-before-launch-due-to-inappropriate-content-despite-having-approved-that-content-weeks-ago/
A week after the indie horror game Horses was banned from Steam, and just one day before it was set to launch elsewhere, Epic Games has decided that it too will not allow the game to be sold on its storefront. Publisher Santa Ragione said in a blog update that Epic informed it of the decision at 5 pm CET/11 am ET on December 1, saying the game violates its policies on "inappropriate content" and "hateful or abusive content."

Like a Dragon creators won't buckle to mainstream western tastes: 'people start making strange things when they misunderstand what their business is supposed to be'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/like-a-dragon-creators-wont-buckle-to-mainstream-western-tastes-people-start-making-strange-things-when-they-misunderstand-what-their-business-is-supposed-to-be/
The Yakuza series has spawned well over a dozen games since it debuted in 2005, and I haven't included any of the substantial remasters in that figure. As prolific as Ryu Ga Gotoku is, they're also remarkably consistent: the same bonkers mix of melodrama and absurd humour is threaded through every one of these games, even the ones set in the 17th century.
It's a formula that took a while to cotton on outside of Japan: it didn't really land as a big commercial success in the west until 2015's Yakuza 0. And that game landed loudly, despite making no overt compromises for western audiences.
But now that western audiences are paying attention, will Ryu Ga Gotoku indulge them more? It seems unlikely, according to a new Automaton interview with three RGG Studio big wigs. Asked whether the studio might abandon its credo of "making what feels true to RGG Studio" in the event that their games became huge global concerns, series executive producer Yokoyama Masayoshi was unequivocal.
>> Good decision.

It turns out Saudi Arabia will own 93.4 percent of EA if the buyout goes through, which is effectively all of it
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/it-turns-out-saudi-arabia-will-own-93-4-percent-of-ea-if-the-buyout-goes-through-which-is-effectively-all-of-it/
When EA announced in October that it will go private via a $55 billion leveraged buyout, a consortium of three investment firms were listed as buyers: Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners, and Silver Lake. A breakdown of the ownership between these parties wasn't given at the time, but as it turns out, one is committing significantly more cash than the others.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the PIF will own 93.4 percent of EA—a gargantuan amount that renders the other stakeholders insignificant by comparison. Silver Lake and Affinity Partners are set to own 5.5% and 1.1%, both of whom PIF is also a "significant investor" in.

Latest viral Game Awards tease could be teasing any videogame with hellish imagery from the last 70 years of the medium, but it's probably Elder Scrolls Online

If you plug those three words into a website called What3Words, a map appears showing a location somewhere near Joshua Tree in California. If you visit that location, you'll see the viral artefact in question, just like YouTuber KingVision18 has done.
(...)
Speculation over what Game Awards announcement it's designed to tease has been endless ever since, but we know at least one thing: it's not the next God of War, as series director Cory Barlog confirmed himself. Meanwhile, journalist Jason Schreier writes on the ResetEra forum that it's not a Diablo 4 expansion.

And here’s the short third part:

Hypixel Studios releases the PC system requirements for its Minecraft-lookalike Hytale, and it's the most comprehensive breakdown I've seen in a long time
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/hypixel-studios-releases-the-pc-system-requirements-for-its-minecraft-lookalike-hytale-and-its-the-most-comprehensive-breakdown-ive-seen-in-a-long-time/
The vast majority of new games released for the humble PC are published with a list of what hardware is required to run it and another list of 'recommended' specs. However, the breadth and depth of this information vary enormously, but not so in the case of the forthcoming voxel-based sandbox Hytale. Its system requirements are so detailed that you'll probably be able to figure out the exact setting you'll be using the game, long before you get a chance to install it.

Avowed says sorry gang, no fall update this year, but to make up for it the devs are rolling together a bunch of features into a ball and putting them out in February
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/avowed-says-sorry-gang-no-fall-update-this-year-but-to-make-up-for-it-the-devs-are-rolling-together-a-bunch-of-features-into-a-ball-and-putting-them-out-in-february/
In what I am increasingly coming to regard as an accident of chronomancy, Avowed—Obsidian's first-person fantasy RPG in the Pillars of Eternity universe—somehow came out last February. Since then, it's been gradually working its way through its post-release roadmap. There's been the update that overhauled fighters and rangers, the one that gave you six more talent points, and that one that let you turn its spiders into orbs.
But more is yet to come. And it was set to come, originally, this autumn, as part of the game's fall 2025 pitstop on its roadmap. "If you’ve checked out a calendar you may have also noticed that fall is quickly running out," Obsidian wrote in an update for fans on its Discord. You can probably guess what that means: "Avowed will not be receiving a fall update."
There is an upside, though. To compensate for its tardiness, Obsidian is replacing the fall update with a one-year anniversary update, due this February, which will include all the stuff originally slated for autumn and some extra gubbins, too, making it "the biggest update for the game yet."

Strip away the impressive tech and Ashes of the Singularity's main hook is that it's big. Big wars, big battles, big weapons. Ashes of the Singularity 2's hook is that it's even bigger, with planet-wide wars featuring thousands of machines and humans—split into three factions—duking it out across multiple fronts.
Cast your eyes above and you'll see it in action for the first time.
