Hopefully more games implement Ray Regeneration so there would be a higher sample size to compare from.

I'm hoping for Star Wars Outlaws to get Ray Regeneration, as light splotching in that game is really handled well with nVidia's Ray Reconstruction, and that would be good test.

This RR vs RR will quickly become annoying, since abbreviations are the same.

RRn vs RRa? RRDLSS vs RRFSR?

Excuse me, but RR only has one meaning: Red Ribbon. And we should all be thankful that Goku took care of them.

Be quick to purchase an upgrade.

Now, seriously, all these news about the price increase and how long this whole thing may last (years), coupled by some Black Friday deals going on, are actually making me think about a (long overdue) GPU upgrade. Not because I need it, at least yet, but in case mine stops working and I'm forced to pay more for one.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Future generations of GPUs should eventually start including a lot of very interesting features once we get latency down enough, like being able to upscale textures or add ray-tracing automatically. I wouldn't be in a hurry to upgrade.

Idk how long I'll keep my 4090 but it sounds like rtx 7000 series at the very least before an upgrade with the way things are going lol

There's the video. Yea Nvidia's is quite ahead as Radeon seems to be missing a good amount of objects such as lights and etc along with low resolution in the reflection. Perhaps this is due to it being released in an incomplete state as the rest of the FSR Redstone is not out till December 10th and as they mention in the video, it's technically two different technologies that likely shouldn't be compared as they aren't doing the samething. It does do somethings better however such as Nvidia's solution does have some ghosting in certain conditions while Radeons solution doesn't. I'd watch the video because they point out a lot of interesting facts about how both technologies work but I'd wait for games that support the full FSR redstone feature set before judging Radeons progress as whole. As of right now though, not even close.

I was contemplating spending $980 AUD on a 9070XT before prices rise... But honestly the 9060XT 16GB runs everything fine for the moment and would be fine for the next few years.
Bought a new Core i7 12650H Laptop with an RTX 3060 for $699 AUD instead.

Absolutely nuts I can buy an entire notebook that is eSports capable for the price of a mid-range GPU.

That or whenever the AI bubble pops.

So, another quarter of record sales and profits. Time to party, baby!

As someone of the older...persuasion...RR for me always meant Rolls Royce. ;)
