Hearthstone is about to undergo its biggest shakeup since launch. This spring a new format called ‘Standard’ will go live alongside the release a new currently unnamed card expansion. You can read the official blog post here, but the crucial change is that in Standard players can only use cards released in the current and previous calendar year, plus the Basic and Classic sets. That means cards from expansions released prior to 2015—i.e. Curse of Naxxramas and Goblins vs Gnomes—will be ineligible for deckbuilding in the Standard format when it arrives (exact date TBC).

Deep Silver's upcoming FPS Homefront: The Revolution will offer microtransactions, but designer Fasahat Salim said in a recent interview with Gamestop that none of them will be for exclusive content, nor will the game become “pay-to-win” as a result: Anything that you can buy, you can also earn by playing the game. There won't be a season pass either, but Salim said Deep Silver and developer Dambuster Studios do have plans for post-release content.

The Witness creator Jonathan Blow tweeted last week that the game “is on track to sell more in a week than Braid [his previous game] sold in its first year.” Today he confirmed that prediction in a “Fun Sales Fakts” post on The Witness website, in which he said that it has already sold “substantially more than 100,000 units.”

It's been all quiet on the Shadowrun: Hong Kong front since the fantasy-cyberpunk RPG was released last summer. But developer Harebrained Schemes announced over the weekend that a Shadowrun: Hong Kong Extended Edition is in the works, and that everyone who already owns the original release will be updated for free.

INVENTION IS RUNESCAPE'S FIRST ELITE SKILL
http://www.pcgamer.com/invention-is-runescapes-first-elite-skill/
Maybe soon that classic Runescape scam will have the ring of truth to it. My 12-year-old self is beside himself with the addition of a new skill to the enduring MMO that is enjoying its 15th anniversary. But not just any new skill—an Elite skill.
STEVE JACKSON'S SORCERY! ON STEAM AT LAST

I always preferred the idea of choose-your-own-adventure books to the reality, mainly because my catastrophic decision making meant countless restarts and scrawled notes (and yes, cheating). Inkle's Sorcery!, which draws from Steve Jackson's books, streamlines the process, incorporating all the colourful prose without the need for a notepad on hand. After a long stint on mobile, Sorcery! has finally made it to Steam.

GODUS HOPES TO REKINDLE FAITH WITH GODUS WARS
http://www.pcgamer.com/godus-hopes-to-rekindle-faith-with-godus-wars/
Life stirs within Godus developer 22cans. We've heard nary a whisper about Godus' troubled development since September, when progress on the implementation of combat was detailed. Peter Molyneux retreated from the spotlight all the way back in February 2015. Now, combat, a pillar of any burgeoning religion, shows itself in... the sort-of standalone Godus Wars?
CITIES SKYLINES: SNOWFALL RELEASE DATE REVEALED
http://www.pcgamer.com/cities-skylines-snowfall-release-date-revealed/
Cities Skylines' frigid update, Snowfall, will arrive just as winter begins to slacken its grip on the northern hemisphere: February 18 is the special day, and the expansion will cost $13—slightly cheaper than the After Dark update.
>>13 $/€ for a bit of snow and little more? I find it a tad expensive, like the first update.
