I do hope we see a big jump because if either side throws out a decent GPU that doesn't cost another £500+ then they have a deal, if it's the same as with the 980 but more expensive then they lose me.

New architecture + smaller process node that's twice the jump we're used to see (we're jumping from 28 to 14/16 skipping 22nm just like what happened when they jumped from 40 to 28 skipping the 32nm step).

And rumors say that that TSMC has the 10nm process on track this time (after mastering the FinFet processs) for 2017, so neither AMD nor Nvidia have to hold themselves to save something for the next cards.

In summary, there's no way this next gen of cards won't deliver unless they hold back on purpose... but that's dangerous as the arch-rival can go all for it and stomp the market, so they won't do it.

A few days ago, I posted news from TFTCentral about some of the new panels that would arrive this year to the market, and Samsung had the weidest ones with an aspect ratio of 32:9.

Well, now TFT Central has updated the story with a pic showing how the curved 49" 32:9 screen would look like:

Totally insane. I love it!

And It would now seem that Reevaulation Day has come.

FRONTIER TALKS ELITE: DANGEROUS UPDATES (AND ALIENS!)

http://www.pcgamer.com/frontier-talks-elite-dangerous-updates-and-aliens/

Frontier's Edward Lewis didn't want to reveal much at PAX South today, but something extra-terrestrial is definitely brewing in Elite: Dangerous. After the recent discovery of alien barnacles, the Elite community has been abuzz with theories about what's coming next. So I asked Lewis outright about what we could expect in Horizon's looming updates, and if it would be alien in nature. See his answer in the interview above.

THE WITNESS IS SELLING VERY WELL, DESPITE RAMPANT PIRACY

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witness-is-selling-very-well-despite-rampant-piracy/

The Witness is a hard nut to crack. It's arguably one of the toughest puzzle games going at the moment, and yet it's selling quite well. So says creator Jonathan Blow, who tweeted at the weekend that it's currently performing better than his landmark debut title Braid did.

INFAMOUS QUESTS DOES KING'S QUEST WITH THE ORDER OF THE THORNE

http://www.pcgamer.com/infamous-quests-does-kings-quest-with-the-order-of-the-thorne/

A couple of years ago, Infamous Quests released a very old-fashioned adventure by the name of Quest for Infamy, one of two games made over a similar period based on the classic Quest for Glory. For their next trick, they appear to have looked to the venerable King's Quest for inspiration. Say howdy to The Order of the Thorne - The King's Challenge, then, which appeared on Steam and GOG a few days ago.

COBALT TRAILER EXPLAINS TIME DILATION SYSTEM

http://www.pcgamer.com/cobalt-trailer-explains-time-dilation-system/

Mojang's foray into a 2D plane is coming along quite nicely, judging by the above trailer. While it does feature a single-player component, it's increasingly looking as if Cobalt's main appeal will be its couch competitive mode, and the time dilation system will play a huge role. If like me, you've been confused about how it works, the video above serves to explain it, and it looks pretty cool.

PLAYER ESCAPES ROCKET LEAGUE MAP, DISCOVERS STRANGE WORLD

http://www.pcgamer.com/player-escapes-rocket-league-map-discovers-strange-world/

I'm a big fan of breaking games and worming my way into areas players aren't meant to see. Sometimes you learn a little about the development process, but it's mostly about that polite, British thrill of being somewhere you're not supposed to be but doesn't exist so doesn't matter anyway. Often there's nothing but a long drop outside the confines of the map—WoW's unused Quel'thalas and Gilneas zones (before it was patched in) are personal favourites, and they were just poorly textured planes. However, every so often, you find sights worth seeing. Redditor UncomfortableNPC escaped the confines of Rocket League's Wasteland arena and discovered a strange new world.

INSURGENCY WW2 CONVERSION DAY OF INFAMY OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES

http://www.pcgamer.com/insurgency-ww2-conversion-day-of-infamy-officially-released/

FPS fans have been clamouring to relive the horrors of World War 2 since about the second Modern Warfare, and that sentiment has been growing with each near-future shooter pumped out by EA and Activision. New World Interactive, developer of squad firefight sim Insurgency, has been paying attention: in collaboration with the modding community, it has officially released Day of Infamy, a WW2 total conversion.

THIS IS WHY STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT CAN'T HAVE FORCE AWAKENS CONTENT

http://www.pcgamer.com/this-is-why-star-wars-battlefront-cant-have-force-awakens-content/

Electronic Arts said late last year that Star Wars Battlefront is set in the original movie trilogy, and thus would not be getting material from the The Force Awakens. Taking a pass on the hottest movie of the year (and the best thing to happen to Star Wars since the early 80s) was mystifying, given the obvious tie-in potential, but it turns out that EA really didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

ROGUE ANT SIMULATOR DEVS BLOW BUDGET ON 'LIQUOR AND STRIPPERS'

http://www.pcgamer.com/rogue-ant-simulator-devs-blow-budget-on-liquor-and-strippers/

Well here's the sort of story that hasn't been seen since the '90s. Ant Simulator has been cancelled after two of the devs allegedly blew Kickstarter and investment funding on restaurants, booze and strippers. Yeah.

Hmmn, I'll be getting paid sometime next week for last month and I'm wanting to grab a Gsync monitor, though one that isn't insanely expensive but does the job. Sometime that isn't costly past £400 (because my pay this month is expected from one job to be near 500 and the other job is needed to pay my bills).

It would be cheaper to get a freesync monitor, but Nvidia doesn't support it... yet .

Well, there are some G-Sync monitors for less than £400, but they seem to be TN.

Anno 1404 Gold 7.5

Yesterday I forgot to warn you about this game for a couple of reasons

1) I don't know if it has to work this way or it happens because it's broken, but if you launch the game rom the "Recent" menu of Steam in the Windows Start menu, it will always launch 1404: Venice. It doesn't matter if it says that it's 1404, you'll get the expansion. The only way to play 1404 is opening Steam, going to your library and launch the game from there, launching a windows that asks you if you want to play 1404 or 1404: Venice. It's important if you haven't played an Anno game before as the tutorial can't be played on Venice.

2) Be careful with the game, it's slow paced and time flies past without you noticing it.

I haven't had time yet to play it properly yet but thanks for the warning. I was so inspired by you putting so many hours in it last Fall.

I thought Venice was the way to go though? Or do you think there is a point to play the base game?

Them not supporting is why I can't buy one lol.

Cheapest according to Nvidia is the AOC model: http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/g-sync/where-to-buy

Scan stopped selling it during Jan when they finally decided to stop pre-orders and actually sell a now 2 yr old model lmao. Instead you have Novatech as the second listed buyer besides ebuyer: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/monitors/144hzrefreshrate/g2460pg.html

£300 seems like the sweet spot, though this is also before adding on that 20%VAT so I;m probably already looking at £15 P&P along with £50, maybe £60 VAT charge.

The base game has a campaign that also acts as a tutorial that's not available if you play Venice, and it also lacks some buildings and menaces that make it easier to start with.

G-Sync is currently superior.

And correctly if I'm wrong, but were'nt you going to buy the monitor last year? I think it was you who was worried when it was discovered that Nvidia had a power consumption problem with fast panels.

In any case, and with all due respect as it's you who have to pay and use the monitor, I'd hold my purchase an extra month or two to save a bit more money for an IPS 144Hz monitor. Best of both worlds.

I was indeedy but Scan had put it on pre-order for nearly 2 months and apparently it;s no longer listed on their site which suggests to me that a 2 year old monitor was compeltely sold out on their end and they somehow decided to stop stocking it. Novatech has since replaced them as the cheapest seller according to Nvidias website.

IPS 144hz?, what's the best part about it?. I'm wondering because I really want good co-ordinated Vsync and my current options are full screen window borderless mode or no Vsync which means screen tearing since most Vsync options for my games or using NCP involve a lot of bad stuttering which is why I originally wanted Gsync, does getting an IPS solve all of this?, I don't want to splurge and find I;m stuck with the same major issue that's been plaguing me for nearly 2 years now.
