It's incredible how a site like Videocardz that focuses on product announcements and rumors/leaks manages to update their Intel article while other, bigger sites with "journalists" still have the articles with the wrong conclusions.

Other than that, it's great that iGPUs keep improving, because neither AMD nor Nvidia launch low-end cards anymore.

I was wondering what would be the worst computer one could have to run Halo 2 vista!

BiON!@

Uf! If I remember correctly, that game not only had the problem of being exclusive to Vista, but it was also very poorly optimized. I'd say that anything less than the recommended specs would make the game barely playable, if at all, and even with the recommended ones the experience would be less than great.

He wont budge yet but will eventually, EGS is bleeding them a lot and the only reason why they lasted so long is because Fortnite/Vbucks.

I think half of the reason why they bought out those games is because of his hate for Steam but also for the fact they know that Fortnite wont last forever. I dont know if he's the one who greenlit it or someone who works with them pushed for it but since they laid off the guy who helped him push the propaganda machine for EGS and the deals changed, I cant see them staying the way they are.

Money talks and eventually when enough red is on their financial numbers, he'll start sounding different.

Also I still cant believe he goes on social media and argues and tells his opinion out loud like that , thats bad PR lol.

What gets me, is that they bought those games to take away from Steam just as their hype cycle was dying down. Rocket league dropped off the radar somewhat after the purchase and is just that game ppl played years ago. Fall Guys was a meme game, and that fell off pretty quick, so I'm wondering why they spent that much money on those two, when both did not have long lasting staying power, when they could have spent all that money on say, finishing UT?, or a brand new IP, something to last as long as Fortnite has.

It's just weird how they are banking on just FN/UE alone, while Valve has:

A headset

Handheld

Gamepad

features being updated for Steam

Steam Nextfest

Still making games (just not the ones we want lol).

Epic is just sitting there, not improving anything but parts of their engine, but still pissing away tons and tons of money on fake alliances, ones that don't even last a decade or more, or don't seem to be reciprocated in the way a natural partnership has (Like the deals with SE, and how SE is just "nah fuck that, I'm going back to Steam", and Ubisoft just abusing the money deals and getting to sell on their own storefront on top of that).

Their propaganda machine was manufactured shortly before EGS launched, as the court case shows, they basically had everything planned out ( only it didn't pay off at all).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

Steam’s Top 10

(Click here for the Top 100)

That game where you click a banana is now so popular it's poised to knock Baldur's Gate 3 off Steam's top 10 most-played games of all time
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/that-game-where-you-click-a-banana-is-now-so-popular-its-poised-to-knock-baldurs-gate-3-off-steams-top-10-most-played-games-of-all-time/
Banana is a game where you repeatedly click on a banana, and that's about it. If that sounds dull, it is: I downloaded Banana and clicked the banana for a while, and that's pretty much all there is to do.
But boy, is Banana popular. Since its launch in April, the free-to-play clicker has been steadily racking up massive player counts.
And I do mean massive. As of today, Banana has a peak concurrent player count of 858,915, which is up from 100,000 just over a week ago. Not only is that a huge explosion in players, that makes it the second most played game on Steam. No kidding. Only Counter-Strike 2 drew more Steam players than the game where you click a banana today.
That's not all. Banana is also threatening to usurp one of the most beloved and popular games of the past year: Baldur's Gate 3. Larian's D&D dating simulator has been camping in a cozy spot on Steam's list of the most played games of all time, with a peak concurrent player count of 875,343. That's only about 16,000 more players than Banana drew today.

Fallout 4 just got an amazing Settler Built Settlements Mod
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/fallout-4-just-got-an-amazing-settler-built-settlements-mod/
Modder ‘WhiskyTangoFox’ has released a pretty cool mod for Fallout 4. This mod, called Settler Built Settlements, will allow your settlers to build the settlements themselves. This is a godsend for those who don’t fancy investing time and effort into building a settlement.
So, thanks to this mod, you won’t have to build up every settlement piece by piece. Instead, you will only have to build the Settlement Building Supplies in the crafting menu. Then, you can leave (far enough away for the cell to unload), and the next time you return to the settlement your settlers will have built themselves some homes, crops, maybe even some defenses.
The modder also shared some additional details about how this mod works. It’s really simple if you think about it. Still, this is something that may interest some of you. So, here’s the “magic” behind it.

Dungeon Clawler is a roguelike claw machine game, which is just as frustrating and moreish as it sounds
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/roguelike/dungeon-clawler-is-a-roguelike-claw-machine-game-which-is-just-as-frustrating-and-moreish-as-it-sounds/
Let me tell you something, dear reader—I am not a person blessed with good luck. When I play roguelikes, TTRPGs, or TCGs, I will always get thrown into the grinder by the fates themselves. Bad card draw, low RNG rolls, and propensity to always roll natural 20s on things that don't matter, before stumbling into a dinky 4 when the world's at stake.
So when I took Dungeon Clawler—a "claw machine rougelike"—for a spin after its appearance in Steam's Next Fest last week, I was expecting to be frustrated and, let me tell you: Yes, I was. But with that frustration came the inevitable desire to keep shoving nickels into the proverbial machine.

Everyone loves a hero (...)
You probably already know who I'm talking about: Cuntz.

But is too much Cuntz a bad thing? Some members of the community have already grown tired of the sheer amount of Cuntz references, since a poll posted to the official Discord by the developer asked if the name should be replaced with a less disruptive name like Konrad.
The anti-Cuntz movement was defeated, however, and quite soundly. With over 8,000 votes, 85% of players chose to keep Cuntz in the game, with only 15% wanting the name removed.

Paradox cancels life sim Life by You, CEO says they gave the studio 'a fair shot' but now 'believe it is better to stop'

Less than a month after the highly anticipated life sim Life By You was delayed without a new release date, Paradox has announced that the whole project has been cancelled.
"Sadly, we’ve decided to cancel the release of our long-awaited life sim Life by You," says a message on the Paradox forums, attributed to deputy CEO Mattias Lilja. "This was an incredibly difficult call to make and is a clear failure on Paradox’s part to meet both our own and the community's expectations."

Just days after saving the children, Helldivers 2 players are ordered to annihilate bug children in a weeklong nuke-a-thon

Helldivers 2 celebrated a moral victory last week when the community made the collective decision to save scores of innocent Super Earth children instead of unlocking a new stratagem. Taking strike three on the Anti-Tank Mines suggests we really must not care about new forms of minefields, but it's also a sign that the Helldivers player base has a soft spot for kids. Well, human kids.
In a cruel and unfortunately funny inversion of fates, Super Earth's newest major order is to wipe millions of Terminid children off the face of the galaxy.
>> And for some reason, Pilestedt has had to come up and say that he’s not the only responsible of the balance patch that dropped last week.

That's a long time for a PC release to be MIA with no other sign it exists, but all of a sudden, whammo, here we are—Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 are out on Steam right now, after being released on the Nintendo Switch last September.

'Work with the players ... otherwise you shouldn't be doing it': Heads at Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios say you ought to 'really mean it' going into early access

Baldur's Gate 3 had a long early access period—opening its doors in October 2020 before finally dropping in August 2023, almost three years (1,031 days, to be exact) later. It was a vastly different game to what it is now. (...) "I don't think [early access] is the future of, because you never know what the future will bring," Vincke answers. "For us, it's been really good—I heartily recommend it, but you really have to mean it when you go in there. You have to work with the players on making your game better, otherwise you shouldn't be doing it."
>> They’ve also revealed that they had hundreds and hundreds of character concepts for its companions.

https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/todd-howard-confirms-that-starfield-will-get-more-dlcs-after-shattered-space-for-hopefully-a-very-long-time/
As we near the release of Starfield's upcoming story expansion, Shattered Space, players are beginning to wonder what, if anything, comes next. But instead of just opting for regular updates, Todd Howard confirms that not only is another DLC planned for after Shattered Space, but that expansions could become a yearly occurrence.

Bethesda CEO Todd Howard recently granted an interview to YouTuber MrMattyPlays, in which among other things he addresses the controversy over Starfield's DLC pricing and some of Bethesda's future projects. But there's also room for some chatter about the past and, with the TV series putting the post-apocalypse back on everyone's minds, the original Fallout games, developed by Black Isle Studios but now owned by Bethesda.

The next patch for Cities: Skylines 2 will be Economy 2.0, which will be released in the upcoming week. But before we can enjoy everything on offer, publisher Paradox Interactive wants to highlight a couple of life-and-death issues.
No one's saves should be broken, but that won't stop the upcoming Economy 2.0 patch from messing with your files: "Any saves that you have built and played on before the patch will be affected by the changes brought by the patch," a Paradox Interactive blog post says. "We wanted to share a list of things you might encounter while loading up your save after the Economy 2.0 patch."

Monster Hunters can now flatten everything with the Sax-a-Boom, a toy instrument best-known for a Jack Black skit
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/monster-hunters-can-now-flatten-everything-with-the-sax-a-boom-a-toy-instrument-best-known-for-a-tenacious-d-song/
Behold the Sax-A-Boom. This garish beauty is a toy instrument resembling a saxophone, apparently first released in 1998, with eight buttons and a speaker, with each button triggering a synthesised musical loop. It wasn't an especial hit at the time but, at some point, one found its way into the hands of Jack Black and Tenacious D.
(...)
Now an enterprising modder has added the instrument to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. TalonGrayson's mod has the straightforward title "Sax-a-Boom Hunting Horn" and, as you can see in the image, blesses hunters with a comically oversized version of the toy. If you're not a Monster Hunter player, all you need to know is that the hunting horn is basically a giant hammer that you play melodies on while smashing it into monsters, so the Sax-a-Boom is a weirdly good fit for this exact vibe.
"This mod replaces the Awakened Safi'jiiva hunting horn with a Sax-a-Boom, complete with accurate honks to complement your accurate bonks," says TalonGrayson. "Honk n Bonk, fellow rock stars!"

A PEGI rating for the OG 1996 Resident Evil has me once again preparing to enter the world of survival horror
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/resident-evil/a-pegi-rating-for-the-og-1996-resident-evil-has-me-once-again-preparing-to-enter-the-world-of-survival-horror/
Those Resident Evil remakes are great. Really great. But you know what's better? Original Resident Evil. Well, kinda. Look, I'll admit it, basically every RE remake Capcom has put out has been a banger, improving on the games they're based on in all sorts of clever ways, but there's still part of me that yearns for the janky, badly voiced charm of the original PS1 games. Perhaps 'better' is the wrong word, but important? Iconic? Nostalgic? Original RE is all of these things and more.
So it's with no small excitement that I tell you that the original 1996 Resident Evil just got a mysterious new PC PEGI rating (via Gematsu), suggesting something is going on with the game, and it seems likely to me that something is a release of some kind. You can find it yourself by searching 'Resident Evil' on PEGI's website, where the listing still seems to be live at time of writing. There's violence in it, apparently. News to me.

If you've ever played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, then you'll probably remember just how rhythmic and fluid the fighting is. Armed with a samurai sword and a prosthetic arm, there's more of an onus placed on precise timing and dancing around your opponent than you may find in other souls games. But this style isn't as much of a one-off as it may seem. While later souls games like Elden Ring certainly share some DNA, studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki believes the future of souls games will build off what Sekiro tried to perfect.
