http://www.dsogaming.com/news/cliffyb-admits-he-was-wrong-about-criticizing-pc-gamers-admits-pc-to-be-the-superior-platform/

Cliff Bleszinski and PC gamers have a long, long history. While Cliff was responsible for one of the most classic FPS games to date, Unreal, he was also responsible for Gears of War. And when Gears of War 2 released on X360, a lot of PC gamers wondered whether that title would be coming to their platform.

STEAM NOW LETS YOU DELETE GAMES FROM YOUR LIBRARY

http://www.pcgamer.com/steam-now-lets-you-delete-games-from-your-library/

My Steam filing system amounts to an alphabetical heap of anything and everything I have ever bought, sampled or been given. I suppose I could optimise my game-launching by sorting everything into lists, but honestly I don't know what I'd do with that extra .2 seconds in my life. Still, if you just can't stand the sight of clutter or you harbour a deep-seated regret for something that crawled out of Greenlight not quite right, user Enter the Dragon Punch over at NeoGAF has spotted the option to have games permanently deleted from your library.

WIN $1 MILLION IN THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE

http://www.pcgamer.com/win-1-million-in-the-elder-scrolls-online/

I can only imagine the shudder that ran through the accounts department when Bethesda decided it would stump up a $1 million prize for one lucky Elder Scrolls Online player come February 1st. I will note that this isn't a million-dollar lump sum, but $50,000 a year for the next 20 years. I know, it's hardly worth bothering.

DOOM ALPHA REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN TO ALL

http://www.pcgamer.com/doom-alpha-registrations-are-now-open-to-all/

If you want to get in on the Doom alpha, now's your chance. Bethesda has announced that registrations, previously restricted to those with beta access earned through preordering Wolfenstein: The New Order, have now been thrown open to everyone.

VAMPYR EMPHASIZES PLAYER CHOICE IN A DARK AND DIRTY WORLD

http://www.pcgamer.com/vampyr-emphasizes-player-choice-in-a-dark-and-dirty-world/

Vampyr, announced early this year by Life is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment, is built on the kind of concept that grabs my attention immediately and forcefully. You'll play as a doctor in London shortly after the end of the First World War and in the midst of the flu pandemic that would ultimately kill as many as 100 million people worldwide. But you're not just a doctor; you're also a vampire.

OVERWATCH BETA IS SHUTTING DOWN NEXT WEEK

http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-beta-is-shutting-down-next-week/

The Overwatch closed beta that's currently underway will be brought to an end next week. Blizzard said the beta will relaunch sometime in January, but now it's time to start sorting through all the data that's been collected over the past month-and-a-half.

WHERE THE WATER TASTES LIKE WINE IS ABOUT ROADTRIPS AND STORYTELLING

http://www.pcgamer.com/where-the-water-tastes-like-wine-is-about-roadtrips-and-storytelling/

Well isn't this funny? Just yesterday I was rambling about wanting to see more games tell short stories that don't stick around for 20 hours out of obligation, and here comes Johnnemann Nordhagen at The Game Awards with a trailer for Where the Water Tastes Like Wine.

ROCK BAND ON OCULUS RIFT IS HAPPENING

http://www.pcgamer.com/rock-band-on-oculus-rift-is-happening/

Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey took the stage at The Game Awards earlier tonight to announce a virtual reality version of Rock Band. Yep. He described standing on stage, looking out at the audience, and how great that is—but we're not actually sure how you play it in that context.

>>I can only say... WTF?!

Nice news on being able to perma delete your games on Steam, I can finally purge the crusader series from my Library since that franchise put me off that RTS type for a good long while, that and I can get rig of titles that never got fully fixed or games I really don't play at all (like ever).

Typical of Cliffy B to come crawling back on his knees though, especially when he knows he has to market a PC exclusive F2P type game and made that deal with Nex, typical PR that I'm never going to buy into. He could have said all that he did when he left all those years back but he didn't and only did so now because he wants what he says to benefit him and his game, not because he ever cared about us, he can jog on for all I care though.

Star Citizen is shaping up and looking awesome, I may become more interested once it nears completion but as it stands I'm not as much but do admire what it's doing in the industry.

That Rockband news fills me with a bit of dread though, I'd rather just have the game and the instruments on my rig than a VR device, feels like a cheap cop out of them.

Star Citizen is really surprising by its looks and by its scale. Hopefully its single player mode is good enough, so I can play it.

I'm thinking of getting it since my friends have been bugging me to get it so I will play with them.

I'm hoping SP is good too ;p

If you have friends and want to try it, I'd say go for it. It's $45 on their site.

And the game seems very scalable too, the min. requirements ask for a DX 11 card with 1GB, a Quad core CPU and 8GB Memory.

Hmm, that's something to take into account when designing the PCs...

Do they have six core CPUs yet? (I havent checked the market recently xD)

Well, AMD has had 6-core CPUs for quite a while now, and even 8-core ones.

The only 6-core Intel ones are the high end, socket 2011 CPUs like the old i7-3930K and i7-4930K and the newer i7-5820K and i7-5930K. The top of the line is the i7-5960X and has 8-cores. All of them have Hyper-Threading, so your PC sees twice the cores (12 and 16).

OOh  - any news about next gen (next year) ones?

From AMD? Rumors say that Zen may come in 2017, so I hope it's not true.

From Intel? They will launch new high end CPUs in both 6 and 8 core variants. I don't know what will happen with their consumer parts, but I remember rumors saying that they might launch a 6 core CPU. It's better to expect new 2 and 4 cores CPUs.

Frankie just uploaded a PC build based on value for 2016, he had other builds like what we are going to go with and he chose his final build, though he had it prebuilt to use as an example and talks about what games run on the setup and how well.

Also Cult of Mush does weekly/monthly builds based on US currency.

I think taking a gander at some of their builds could help us slim down on our own along with looking into why they thought the parts they went with were good.

PC gamer that's quite popular. I was subbed to him for about 2 years now, not as well known as Total Biscuit but he has a sized following and he does talk about PC gaming/performance along with a decent list of LP vids.

Duderandom 84 is a decent guy I came across a few months back and subbed since he does benchmarks constantly and a lot of the time he takes your suggestions via comments on his recent bench vids for his enxt ones (like if you ask him to crank up the AA in the enxt game he will or tone different settings on different setups to show you perf gains/loss.
