While the resolution is pretty good at 5120x1440p, I feel as though the ideal scenario for OLED is a dual monitor setup with an IPS display due to text fringing and burn-in issues instead of a single big monitor.

I don't know, I think most people worth their salt already match strobing to framerate and refresh rate when they play, or the ghosting would be insane, so not like it's reinventing the wheel. In the end, while the 360 Hz strobing is nice, otherwise it feels like another pointless G-Sync certification badge.

However, I might be being too harsh here because LCDs drive me irrationally mad. Such a poor picture quality overall compared to everything else that exists. Imagine we could have had plasma monitors with perfect motion clarity and actual good colors and even no mouse micro stuttering. Instead, we have 500 Hz LCD screens that look like a blurry mess and it's just sad.

Better to just wait for high-refresh OLEDs IMO, or go for an OLED with BFI.

Well while other monitors do offer strobing, it's about the implementation that the G-sync allowed Nvidia to do which set ULMB 2 apart from existing techniques. It's why the image looks clear on a 360 hz display using ULMB 2 vs 500hz display or OLED display or the best 360hz TN panel on the market.

If you want more info on how it works, you can read about it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/g-sync-ultra-low-motion-blur-2/

That is not to say people should buy this monitor cause in terms of HDR and all that, it's worse than OLED while being more expensive. It's mostly just for serious esports people.

Square Enix and their Playstation exclusivity nonsense is the only reason I haven't sold my PS5 at this point lol. Since it's Nixxes, hopefully it will be a great port. Please have Direct Storage for GPU implementation.

Nice to see a updated NH-D15 as someone who will likely always use air cooling on the CPU, I look forward to seeing more when it eventually arrives.

To clarify, since most competitive gamers wouldn't use BFI unless it matched the refresh rate, ghosting wouldn't be an issue, only crosstalk. Now, I don't know how bad the de-syncing gets in very HRF monitors but usually it isn't too bad and you can adjust the strobing manually in a lot of gaming monitors.

Will ULMB2 as a factory standard be preferable to going through the trouble? I think that will depend a lot on manufacturer quality control and how well the algorithm can adjust to temperature changes, age, etc. At times, however, that comparison video felt a bit misleading since he was comparing ULMB2 to images with no BFI at all or to lower-resolution monitors (or that horrible 500 Hz screen).

Now if I'm not mistaken the 2021 LG OLEDs can do BFI at 120 Hz and look crisp AF with no strobe mistimes. Personally, I'd go for that for motion clarity and overall image quality, even if it's a little dim.

Same, its been forever since they released the original. And the updated one with better fans and 8 heatpipes plus more surface area.. all points to this setting the bar for high end coolers when it does eventually launch.

The one thing I'm really interested in is the next gen 140mm fan. Really want to replace my two front noisy ones with a couple of those or the Silent Wings Pro 4 - depending on which one is better.

Well the purpose of the test is to compare it against the 3 best esports monitor options in the market. While two are 1080p monitors yes but they are generally preferred over 1440p monitors because of the motion clarity given by the refresh rate or tech like DyAc+. They aren't good monitors for something like playing Cyberpunk in HDR and all that but for esports, they prefer monitors like that due to the advantages they give to esports titles which is the main target market of ULMB.

Esports gamers also wouldn't use 120Hz oled for competitive gaming as the refresh rate is too low and realistically those TVs are big for most people. Hell they likely wouldn't even use 32 inch gaming monitors because it's too dang big since they need to have the entire game within their vision without having to move their neck. They need high refresh monitors with as much motion clarity and low response times as possible. At best, they will use the new 1440p 240Hz OLED monitors or go with the above solution.

I would of been interested in the case fans on my previous case but I'm running 2 Fractal chunky 180mm fans and they are really impressive with low rpm they blow a gale through the case and are pretty much silent so I'm sorted on that front.

Nice. Yeah they do look cool. I'm guessing you have one of the Torrent cases? Those fans move a ton of air.

Idk its probably more worth it to replace my case instead of my current fans (guessing these will be £30+ each). Still using my old Fractal Define R5, which does the job and is fairly quiet. But its outdated design and thermal performance isn't great, even when I open the front panel lol.

I am hoping that someone reviews the corsair version of the WOLED 1440p monitors. The specs are the same on paper but considering the brightness differences between the LG and Asus despite being the same display, the paper specs clearly don't mean much. The big benefit to the corsair one is they include a 3 year burn-in warranty so you don't need to pay additional money to have that piece of mind. The base price is also the same as the LG/Asus ones.
