@Alby: Well, Apple's A9 is made in both 16FF+ by TSMC and 14LPE by Samsung, and the 16nm one uses less power, so I don't know what's more embarrassing...

Also, I've read on another forum that this site written in gibberish japanese says that AMD will demonstrate the new Crimson drivers and a new product (Fury X2?) this weekend. We'll see.

The Closed Founder's Program for the new Star Control is close to starting. To have a chance of entering you must first complete a survey, be sure you are on the computer you will want to play it on as the survey asks for a hardware check. Link to official site.

And in somewhat related news Stardock has released Galactic Civilizations II and Galactic Civilizations III on GOG. They plan to later release some of their other games.

AFRO SAMURAI 2 PULLED FROM STEAM, VOLUME 2 & 3 CANCELLED, REFUNDS BEING OFFERED FOR VOLUME 1

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/afro-samurai-2-pulled-from-steam-volume-2-3-cancelled-refunds-being-offered-for-volume-1/

In an interview with CGM, Versus Evil’s general manager Steve Escalante revealed that the game has been pulled from Steam. Versus Evil is offering refunds for Volume 1, and has cancelled Volume 2 & 3. Do note that this applies to all versions of the game (both PC and console). The reason behind this decision? Gamers – both on PC and PS4 – simply did not like the game and as a result of that, it is now considered from Versus Evil as a commercial failure.

GAME OF THRONES SEASON TWO IS COMING

http://www.pcgamer.com/game-of-thrones-season-two-is-coming/

Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner tells The Hollywood Reporter (in a spoilery interview, so take care) that a second season of the episodic Game of Thrones series is on the way. "We've been planning the second season all along," he says, "but I really shouldn't be revealing more than that."

MINECRAFT: STORY MODE EPISODE 3 IS COMING NEXT WEEK

http://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-story-mode-episode-3-is-coming-next-week/

Most episodic games take a few months between releases. Telltale has spaced its Game of Thrones episodes at least a couple of months apart, for instance. Not so with Minecraft: Story Mode, however. The second episode launched in late October, just two weeks after the first, and the third part is coming next week, on November 24.

THE WITNESS WON'T HAVE DISTRACTING MUSIC, BUT IT WILL HAVE VOICE ACTING

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witness-wont-have-distracting-music-but-it-will-have-voice-acting/

January 2016 is drawing closer, which means The Witness will finally be playable. I for one am looking forward to being confused on a lonely island, and in a new blogpost, creator Jonathan Blow has made me more excited. Why? Because The Witness won't have a distracting score, instead opting for careful attention to sound design.

THE FIRST FALLOUT 4 PATCH IS DUE NEXT WEEK

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-first-fallout-4-patch-is-due-next-week/

I know this is the internet, but I think we can all probably just about agree that Fallout 4 is good. However, what with it also being a Bethesda open-world RPG, its (ahem) vaulting ambition has also resulted in a few technical glitches. Some aren't a big deal, others are. Bethesda, of course, is aware of the situation, and working on a patch that it expects will be ready for release, as a beta, next week.

I dont like how Afro Samurai 2 is getting removed via library of everyone who owns the game but at least the owners get a refund for the game.

Such a shame though - am a fan of Afro Samurai (watched the show and the movies D:).

One of the bad things about going full digital.

The way it looks, not many people will be bothered with it.

So I noticed Bombshell got pushed back to Jan 2016 but is coming out on PC first and consoles sometime during the year, probably a first for that year where PC gets something first for a change. The bright side is that the game covers me for Jan and XCOM 2 for Feb with anything else in those two months that crop up by then.

I take it you mean Star Control. Star Control is a series of space action-adventure games, you can buy the old ones on GOG or play The Ur-Quan Masters, a fan port of Star Control 2 for modern systems. My experience is with Ur-Quan Masters, you had a spaceship and had to explore the galaxy and create an alliance to defeat the Ur-Quan who have this habit of imprisoning species under slave shields. This new Star Control is a reboot, because the original creators are busy with the Skylanders franchise and Stardock doesn't want to use the original's lore without their involvement.

Yep, I was talking about Star Control, and thanks for the explanation.

I'll take a look at it.

Yeah, I just found embarrassing comparing what actually is that each different company calls 20, 16 or 14nm, but other factors can influence power consumption, for example the quality of interconnections, insulation layers, a layout made to minimize interconnection length, etc.
About AMD, news and reviews look quite positive overall, not outstanding, but not bad at all, and this is even better if we consider that biggest novelties are expected later next year. The only negative thing IMVHO is the new K12 ARM CPU delayed to 2017 due to lack of resources to support a faster development and release of both it and the new x86 chips. But who knows, maybe that delay can go to AMD advantage, for example if by them more than 4GB will be common enough even on mid and mid-low range ARM devices, AMD 64bit chip will have a larger potential market since launch, not to mention that a 14nm process more refined, tuned and tested than in 2016 will be precious for chips where low power consumption is of the essence.
