I take it you mean Star Control. Star Control is a series of space action-adventure games, you can buy the old ones on GOG or play The Ur-Quan Masters, a fan port of Star Control 2 for modern systems. My experience is with Ur-Quan Masters, you had a spaceship and had to explore the galaxy and create an alliance to defeat the Ur-Quan who have this habit of imprisoning species under slave shields. This new Star Control is a reboot, because the original creators are busy with the Skylanders franchise and Stardock doesn't want to use the original's lore without their involvement.
