Well, looks like AMD has been fast in finding the culprit of this situation and to come up with a fix, and I'm sure MB makers will get the new BIOS as fast as they can. It's the best that could happen to AMD and those planning to buy one of their new CPUs.

Also good move from them to replace the damaged CPUs. We'll see if the MB vendors will accept all the damaged boards or if they come up with some caveats.

Nvidia gets what it deserves. They caused the problem and now they'll have to find a way to fix it. And we know that it will involve price cuts.

If the price of the top ROG Ally is true, and there's no reason to believe it isn't, then it's very competitive and will put the Deck in trouble.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the 7600 (the article has been updated to say that it't that card. no the XT variant) rumor. It comes from MLID and, while it aligns with what Igor said earlier this week that cards may be shown at Computex, that happens at the end of May, there are som odd details, like the card usinf more power than the current 6600 and 6600XT despite being on a more efficient node.

Also, Techpowerup has an artocle about this rumor, and when asked in the comments if they'll get a sample to review, they say that they haven't heard a thing from AMD.

So yeah, while it can be true, I'd remain a bit skeptical.

Oh! And it's a shame that Jedi Survivor has performance issues. It will surely impact its sales, at least on PC. What I don't understand is why the textures load slower in performance mode than in quality mode. Shoudln't it be the other way around?

To be honest, I'm not surprised.

When you posted that video yesterday, the first thing that came to my mind was an article I posted a while ago when the director of the game said that it was a miracle that they had managed to finish the game on time after COVID and the challenges it brought. Well, now we know at least one of the results of that troubled development.

But well, until gamers start not buying broken games no matter the hype or company behind them (EA, Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, ...), publishers won't change.

Yea I'll still give it a go since it came free with my 7800X3D. Although from what I have seen, even paired with a 4090 at 1440p, it can barely do 60fps. Not cause the 4090 isn't powerful but because it's stupidly cpu limited. So lame.

Following your maritime metaphors, Intel's iceberg (or better yet, a direct hit of a torpedo right below their waterline) only highlighted Intel's long-running problems and the bad decisions they had been taken for years.

What matters now is how will the first class passengers, the stockholders, react. So far they've showed patience, but sooner or later they'll run out of it, and who knows what they'll do then. Kill ARC? Replace Pat Gelsinger?

Or raise prices across their relatively cheap consumer range...

It's times like this that really make me wish mobile gaming never took off, because the old "ship the app barebones, patch it up later" ideal badly influenced modern game design (That and early access being for Indie devs was also becoming abused by those higher up than Indies).

New Steam feature lets you pin windows over games, including guides, notes, and web pages
https://www.pcgamer.com/new-steam-feature-lets-you-pin-windows-over-games-including-guides-notes-and-web-pages/
Info unearthed by SteamDB's Pavel Djundik in March pointed to a significant Steam update in the works, one that would include a way for players to take their own "game notes" as well as changing the way notifications work. Valve has now officially announced those features, and several more, pushing them live in the current Steam client beta.
As Valve's Steam desktop update explains, the in-game overlay has been overhauled "completely". The thing that pops up when you press shift-tab to check what that achievement you just earned was about (or have a cheeky look at a guide), now has a toolbar with separate sections for "friends chat, achievements progress, guides, discussions, a browser, and more." You can pin any of those windows so they remain visible while you're playing too, just in case you need to keep referencing how to complete the Ranni quest in Elden Ring.
"Opacity level is adjustable," Valve explains, "and only the contents of the window will be pinned—excluding the title bar and other extraneous UI. This new functionality is available for Notes, Guides, Discussions, and the web browser (yes, you can watch movies while you play games if you really want to)." That's right, you can keep a YouTube walkthrough on-screen instead of having to tab back and forth. Truly, this is the dawn of a golden age.

This randomizer mod turns the best Elder Scrolls game into a beautiful fever dream

Yams. It's all yams. Everywhere I look. Every crate, every bookshelf, every corpse pocket: They're all stuffed with yams. I have become the protagonist of a vegan Edgar Allen Poe story, and it's my own damn fault. I've installed the Morrowind World Randomizer mod (spotted by Micky D on YouTube, above), and it only went and randomized the world of Morrowind. They should put a warning on it.
Created by a modder named Diject, the randomizer is possibly the most thorough mod of its kind I've seen. While I'm used to mods like this switching up enemy types and container inventories, the Morrowind World Randomizer shakes up whatever it can get its hands on.
Textures are altered, characters become a mad, identikit patchwork of species and sizes, and doors that used to obey the basic, agreed-upon laws of physical space now lead to completely different areas depending on whether you're entering or exiting them.

Fallout: London modders just released a massive WWI-era gun can try in Fallout 4
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-london-modders-just-released-a-massive-wwi-era-gun-can-try-in-fallout-4/
With Bethesda finishing up Starfield for an October 2023 release, and with The Elder Scrolls 6 still waiting in the wings, it's safe to say we won't see Fallout 5 for another… eight years? 10 years? Maybe more?
That's what makes Fallout: London such an exciting prospect for impatient Fallout fans. The full-conversion Fallout 4 mod will take players out of the United States and across the Atlantic to merry old England, where they'll experience weaponized elephants, murderous mailboxes, and radshrew-filled tube stations.
The Fallout: London mod is due out sometime this year, but you don't have to wait any longer to get a taste. The modders have released a few weapons from Fallout: London as independent mods you can play with in Fallout 4, and the latest and most exciting is the massive Lewis machine gun. Modder and animator Neeher has created a video about the gun you can watch below.
