I get what you mean and I agree that Scan has screwed up with you. And given that the Swift has a 2560x1440 res., your card will suffer even more despite the G-Sync.

But I have to agree with your friend. There are three components on every PC that no one should skimp on but most do: Monitor, keyboard and mouse. And the reason is very simple, they will be your tools when using your PC. With a bad monitor you may end with red eyes, with a bad keyboard your wrists can suffer and if a mouse is not comfy... well, it will always feel odd. And they usually also last longer than your average PC.

For me average keyboards have served me fine, with mice I tend to go for ones that cost up to £30-35 but never any higher and go for larger mats. The monitor deal is why I'll settle for at least £300-50 and no higher because to me I don't see greater returns for spluring  any higher, I already noted that I splurged on the 980 and so far it's not giving me 100% returns for the majority of games I play which is why I'm more or less doubting Nvidia now more than ever and starting to wonder if AMD will really step up their game. That and screen tearing or horrible Vsync options give me no choice but to go for a monitor that can talk with ym GPU since full screen border window mode isn't supported by every game and some that do seem to mess that up as well. I basically want my 60fps as constant and as fluid as possible, hitches tend to break immersion for me easily and bore me out of playing the game which is why I stopped bothering with GTA V a#even after getting the 980 and of course some other AAA's as well that aren't doing so hot for the platform. Indie game wise some are fine and run really well for me but I'm wanting a better AAA performance experience and I doubt splurging a lot mroe on my monitor is going to give me all that (especially with the higher res which currently kills fps that giving you gains).

Fallout 4 seems to run fine even on budget PCs.

^So now it's only a matter of waiting 6-12 months to play the game without game-breaking bugs, right?

And speaking about FallOut 4, I'll start the news with a couple of them about this game, followed by another not two, but three Blizzard news:

http://www.pcgamer.com/dr-pete-hines-releases-sick-note-so-you-can-stay-home-and-play-fallout-4/

I don't know about you, but I think I'm coming down with something. Cough, cough, yes I'm definitely coming down with something, and I suspect I'll finally succumb at around 12am Tuesday morning. Completely coincidentally, Tuesday is when Fallout 4 releases. Anticipating an infectious sickness bug, Bethesda's Pete Hines has helpfully released a signed sick note that you can present to your boss/teacher/authority figure.

LEGACY OF KAIN HAS "50/50" CHANCE OF COMING BACK THIS GEN

http://www.pcgamer.com/legacy-of-kain-has-5050-chance-of-coming-back-this-gen/

The Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver/Blood Omen/Why Does It Have So Many Damned Names series is pretty great, because it's pretty weird, and dark, and more gothic than a grumpy teenager sitting on top of a cathedral. Another (single-player) one would be good, and there's a 50% chance of that happening this generation, according to Crystal Dynamics.

THE BANNER SAGA 2 HAS BEEN DELAYED INTO 2016

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-banner-saga-2-has-been-delayed-into-2016/

The Banner Saga 2, the follow-up to last year's hit turn-based Viking simulator, was announced in late 2014 with a very unspecific release target of "2015." Now it's late 2015, and according to Eurogamer, the game won't show up until sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

BORDERLANDS ONLINE IS NO LONGER IN DEVELOPMENT, AND THE STUDIO IS CLOSED

http://www.pcgamer.com/borderlands-online-is-no-longer-in-development-and-the-studio-is-closed/

Did you know there was a Borderlands Online game in development? Well yes, there was a Borderlands Online game in development, but it was exclusive to China. It's not uncommon for publishers to develop free-to-play iterations of their games for Asian regions, but it evidently didn't work out too well for publisher 2K Games, because the game is no longer in development.

3D PLATFORMER POI LEAPS ONTO STEAM EARLY ACCESS

http://www.pcgamer.com/3d-platformer-poi-leaps-onto-steam-early-access/

Of course, 3D platformers were really 3D exploration games, plonking you in non-linear worlds full of secrets, collectibles, and probably lots of talking animals. For one reason or another, the genre fell out of favour, but a few games are aiming to bring it back: Yooka Laylee, A Hat In Time, and now Poi. PolyKid's Poi is a "3D adventure platformer throwback to the 90s era of classic platforming games. Explore big worlds, compete in challenge levels, meet quirky characters and pull off classic platforming feats on a journey to become a Master Explorer". Sounds alright, that.

KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM UPDATE 1.0.5 ADDS SEA LANDINGS, GIVES VAL A FACE PLATE

http://www.pcgamer.com/kerbal-space-program-update-105-adds-sea-landings-gives-val-a-face-plate/

You'll soon be able to land on the sea in Kerbal Space Program, an action that would have once led to a miserable, water-based death. Update 1.0.5 lets you make an emergency landing on the sea; you can also make vehicles able to take off and land from water like it's no big thing.

Well I should technically have no problems running it on my Zotac GTX 980, 8gb DDR3, Intel i5 4670k and eventually a new Samsung Evo pro SSD since my main one is practically full.

$369.99? That's not a bad price considering that it's only $20 more than the card without the game.

Well Scan finally sent me a reply about that refunding my monitor response I gave them a few hours back. It's going to take 3-5 days to get my money back lol. Still I'm getting paid tomorrow so I'll buy Legacy of the Void and play that all day while and once my refund returns I'll buy the same monitor from that other vendor JEMC linked earlier.
