I wouldn't pay too much attention to the individual results of the GPUs. There are still no games that use it, we'll have to wait until Forspoken (I think), so it wouldn't be much of a surprise that the three of them launch new drivers for that game that also improve the DirectStorage performance of their cards. Plus Intel has experience with SSDs, which could give them an advantage here.

What I find more interesting is that the difference between a PCIe 3.0 and a 4.0 drive is quite small given that one is, in theory, twice as fast as the other. It looks like it's better to invest in a bigger drive rather than in a faster one.

Not looking too good for Radeon users if those requirements are legit. 2080 Ti or 6800XT? 3090 Ti or 7900XT?

>1080ti

Excuse me wot

I smell stupidly janky and shitty port ahead of us.

last game I saw that wanted a 1080ti as reco spec GPU ran like total arse, and considering how I've never once heard of this studio in my entire life, I've no confidence that it's gonna be a stellar port.

Alex got his work cut out for him in jan with Dead Space R too.

It doesn't matter, pal. It uses Denuvo and you're against it. Therefore, you weren't supposed to play it anytime soon.

Well f'ck. That's not good.

Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin pricing going up doesn't worry me too much because it's far more efficient to use ASIC computers build exactly for that, or at least it was several years ago when I read something about it. The only worry from that rise is that it could bring with it some other sh*tty crypto that could become a problem for us.

But will it defeat retina scanners?

One thing that's been bugging me is this recent trend of RTS games revival but looking generally worse than their predecessors. First this happened with Age of Empires IV where, while technically it's far more advanced than AOE 2 DE, artistically, it looks like a cartoon and many aspects of it just doesn't look very pleasing.

So with the Company of Heroes 3 early access being released to people... We are in that exact same situation once again. Now I don't watch this person but I was linked to the video which I do think states the point pretty nicely:

Now the comparisons he makes aren't what I would call totally fair but remember that Company of Heroes 2 came out in 2013 while Company of Heroes 3 is a 2023 game. Yet in many aspects in the first few minutes of the video, you can see a stark difference in the art style. Honestly considering the gap between release dates, it shouldn't even be comparable but here we are. Even the sound stage is worse in the new one.

Sadly the only RTS game I'll be looking forward to will likely be Age of Mythology DE as the remastering team did a great job with AOE2 DE. But man, it's annoying to see how RTS games are still not being taken seriously to the point where, it's just better to play the old games.

From the moment the game was announced, both Relic and Sega made it clear that the game had been in development for a while and the CoH community had been involved in it. I'm pretty sure that if graphics were a problem, those members of the community would have told Relic.
