Totally. Those R5/lower end R7 SKU's from AMD don't make much sence atm with current prices of motherboard and memory. Apparently (an not surprisingly) they aren't really selling all that well either, according to some Youtubers. I think they'd have to drop prices in the next couple of months for them to do actually sell through.

Same with those ridiculous X670 prices.. And now with a full stack of Raptorlake CPU's out, both lower end CPU's are looking rather daft when looking at total system cost to performance. Especially for gamers, and people who are into mid-tier stuff.

Resident Evil 4 Remake gets brand new gameplay and story trailers
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/resident-evil-4-remake-gets-brand-new-gameplay-and-cinematic-trailers/
Capcom has just released two brand new trailers for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The first one is a gameplay trailer, whereas the second one is a cinematic trailer. In total, we get more than seven minutes of gameplay and in-engine cinematic sequences, giving us an idea of how the game looks and plays. And yes, Leon’s classic kick move is in here.
>> And there are also new screenshots.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will have Ray Tracing, PC requirements revealed

Gotham Knights – NVIDIA DLSS 2 vs AMD FSR 2.0 vs Intel XeSS comparison screenshots
https://www.dsogaming.com/articles/gotham-knights-nvidia-dlss-2-vs-amd-fsr-2-0-vs-intel-xess-comparison-screenshots/
Gotham Knights releases later today and as we’ve reported, its PC version is a mess. The game currently suffers from major I/O issues in the open-world area, which can be easily experienced while driving the batcycle. And, to be honest, that’s a shame because it’s one of the few games that support NVIDIA DLSS 2, AMD FSR 2.0 and Intel XeSS.

Square Enix just shadow-dropped a trailer for Final Fantasy 16 and if I wasn't sold on the game before, I certainly am now. The stunning new video titled Ambition gives a better look at some key party members and the different kingdoms that'll be present in the game. It's a lovely lore dump filled with the usual Final Fantasy nonsense and I am all here for it.

Diablo 4 endgame beta asked testers not to leak it, so they leaked it immediately

What's the old saying? Three may keep an NDA if two of them are dead? Whatever it was, it's been proved right by the recent launch of the endgame beta for Diablo 4, whose playtesters rushed to Reddit to post about it almost as soon as they were invited, in clear contravention of the big bright letters spelling out "CONFIDENTIAL" right there in the email.

Microsoft's latest Activision acquisition defense: What if Call of Duty sucked?
https://www.pcgamer.com/microsofts-latest-activision-acquisition-defense-what-if-call-of-duty-sucked/
One of the big sticking points in Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard is Call of Duty. Both Sony and regulators have expressed concerns that Microsoft could use the series as a weapon against PlayStation by making it exclusive to Xbox consoles. Microsoft has repeatedly said that it won't do this, but in a new response to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority it also made the point that it might not matter someday, because nothing is forever.

Vampire Survivors studio Poncle said in September that the 1.0 release update, set to arrive on October 20, would be "a surprise and should hopefully offer a little something for everyone." Now the big day is here, and I think it's fair to say that the promise has been kept.

Much more important is what's behind it, in this case a Banished-inspired survival city builder that Katie said quickly became one of her favorite colony sims, "with oodles of depth, a homey atmosphere, and a gorgeously mystical soundtrack."

Silent Hill 2 remake 'rebuilding the combat', won't have fixed camera
https://www.pcgamer.com/silent-hill-2-remake-rebuilding-the-combat-wont-have-fixed-camera/
The trailer for Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake recreated several scenes from the original game, only with higher-res faces and floppier hair. We saw James looking at himself in a public restroom mirror, hiding in a closet as Pyramid Head murdered a pair of mannequins, and reaching between bars to grab a key. But we also saw James from behind as he walked around, suggesting the adoption of a modern third-person view rather than the fixed-camera perspective of the original game.
Mateusz Lenart, creative director and lead designer at Bloober Team, told the PlayStation Blog that was indeed the case, saying, "One of the new elements that you could spot in the reveal trailer is the adoption of an over-the-shoulder camera. With that change we want to immerse players even deeper into the game, make them feel like they are a part of this unreal world, and deliver them a more visceral experience across the board."

Tencent shareholders drown their sorrows as Chinese tech crackdown makes it less valuable than a booze firm
https://www.pcgamer.com/tencent-shareholders-drown-their-sorrows-as-chinese-tech-crackdown-makes-it-less-valuable-than-a-booze-firm/
Tencent, the Chinese tech and gaming colossus that you'll know for owning a slice of seemingly everything in the games industry, is no longer China's most valuable company. Bloomberg reports that Tencent's stock price has hit a five-year low, and its overall market capitalisation was overtaken late last month by—of all things—Kweichow Moutai, a Guizhou-based firm specialising in the production of Maotai rice wine. At time of writing, Kweichow Moutai had a $235 million lead over Tencent's market cap.
>> Hopefully, that slows down its buying spree.

Intel Takes the Throne: i5-13600K CPU Review & Benchmarks vs. AMD Ryzen

GN not only compares the performance but he also looks at the platform costs. The conclusion is that not only is the 13600k as a whole is cheaper than 7600x, but the 13600k beats the 7600x and 7700x in workstation and beats even the 7950x in gaming. It sounds like AMD is thinking about discounting the Ryzen chips in response so hopefully, not too many people bought into the scam tier pricing.

Only 46 years old? Damn, that's really not an age to die.

Settlement Survival looks interesting. I played though Banished with the Colonial Charter mod which vastly expands the game over and over again, but now I know that game in and out. This new one seems very interesting to me.

RX 7900XT only coming with 20GB is pretty surprising to me. Maybe this will just be an RX 7900 non-XT, similar to the RX 6700 non-XT coming with just 10GB

And yes, for gamers, the Ryzen 7000 X3D will be the one they should buy. By then, the platform should also be cheaper with the B650 boards and lower DDR5 RAM prices, offsetting the higher price for the X3D version at least somewhat. For other users however, the extra cache is doing pretty much nothing, so no need to pay the higher price for the X3D version.

I don't think the workstation argument makes sense considering Intel is offering 8 extra e-cores against 7600x/7700x at a similar price point. The 13900k can also out perform the 7900x in workstation but the power that thing requires starts to really come into affect due to it's 16 extra e-cores. So for Ryzen 7000, 7900x and 7950x starts to make sense for content creation workloads. Otherwise people are simply spending a lot of money just to be slower in almost every workload. Sometimes by 30-50% depending on the workload. Not to mention, Intel has Z690 boards which has PCI-E 5 for GPU for the price of B650 boards and imo, no one should be "upgrading" to PCI-E Gen 4 a motherboard since that's last gen tech which AM4 has.

Ryzen 7000 simply doesn't make any sense for sub 7900XT users against Intel.
