4K already seems like too much for me since it needs large screens to be really noticeable over 1440p. Hence why I rather play on 27" 1440p screens than buying 32" or even bigger screens for 4K.

Even at 1440[, if TAA were to ever get a bit blurry for me, I'd just enable sharpening by say, 30%, and that usually makes the image crisp and with less jaggies, and it's why I'll find 4k pretty much useless for the next decade.

Heck, I've modded FSR 2.1 into Cyberpunk and cranked it's sharpness to 0.50 and shit looks fine to me on balanced mode and I'm running at my locked 72fps (though there are some weird ass framerate dips whenever I'm driving cars, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that when I checked some youtube videos).

Being part of the problem

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

On a more serious note, Halo cards always existed even before the crypto shat took off. Titan Z had an MSRP of $3000, Titan XP had MSRP of $1200 which when adjusted for inflation and adding TSMC's tax is about in line where cards like 4090s should be priced. So buying Halo cards haven't been the issue, especially with as big of a leap that Lovelace is providing. Those that buy the 4080 series with Halo card prices though... That will be the main crucks of the problem.

I said nothing of the sort, not that I don't agree in many cases. I would not be buying a 4090 if all I was doing is gaming (for that I'd stick with a 3080). For productivity purposes like the vfx work, video editing, and even AI dabbling I plan on doing with it it is 100% worth the $1600; the gaming performance is a bonus.

You know what they're doing

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Gratz on the PO guys. Jealous lol.

Also, someone bypassed DLSS 3 on a 2070. Oops xD So much for Frame Generation unable to run on old architectures. But we know we can trust Nvidia when it comes to locking down features to new things

I think the main issue is gonna be input latency which is why Nvidia didn't put it on pre-4000. 4090 already is very close to having input latency of Native in some games. Doing frame generation on Ampere let alone Turing might make the input latency too unbearable. 80fps frames with 15fps like input latency.

Oh, my, my Nvidia!

I don't know what's more embarrassing, that Nvidia decided to use a software lock to prevbent this from happening (didn't they learn a thing from what happened to their software hash-rate limiter?), or that even a 2070 card, a card from two gens ago, can make use of it.

It's ridiculous.
