Blizzard is done. They are surviving on legacy ips and gameplay. What have they done that was new and good. All the good people left. I put years and 1000 plus hours in Overwatch. 100's of hours in watching and supporting pro leagues. It is not about $10. I would spend multiple times that if they were not a total shit monger of a company.

I'm also hating the stupid encroaching "progressive" bs, like turning paintings of Blood Elves into bowls of fruit, or completely butchering the emotes, because a few RP players get a lil "special", if you get me.

It's bad enough the company has lost good ppl over the yrs, but I don't need the games being warped to appease a tiny, tiny audience, who never gave a shit about Blizzard's stuff in the first place.

Sorry for getting political, but It's just something I've been noticing more of lately in gaming and the film industry, and I'm more or less getting tired of that group infesting everything for their own agenda crap (and for the record, I lean neither left side nor right, but I see both as bickering children with their own faults).

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

They stopped patching it since Jan this yr, and last yr it wasn't mentioned during board meeting financials.

It's basically on it's last legs this yr, and I don't see it lasting another 2 yrs to be fair to the game. Game itself likely hasn't made that much money, considering the only thing you could buy was either a pack of loot boxes or XP boosters.

This flying car mod for Cyberpunk 2077 looks so good it should be a real feature
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-flying-car-mod-for-cyberpunk-2077-looks-so-good-it-should-be-a-real-feature/
My life as a corpo in Cyberpunk 2077 started out pretty promisingly, including a ride in my own private flying limousine to kick off my first mission. Granted, things went off the rails almost immediately when I lost my job and got the ghost of Johnny Utah Wick Harker Constantine Mnemonic Silverhand stuck in my brain, but I sort of expected, at some point, to have my own flying car again. The future, as we all know, is always filled with flying cars. So what gives?
Hard to say if it was an oversight or a feature they didn't have time to add, but a modder has expertly corrected that omission. Let There Be Flight is a mod for Cyberpunk 2077 by Jack Humbert that puts flying cars into the game and lets you take to the sky over Night City. And it looks pretty darn slick

Friday news, the sequel:

Overwatch 1 dies on October 2
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-1-dies-on-october-2/
And now, its over-watch has ended. Don your black cloth, folks, Blizzard has announced that Overwatch 1 goes offline on Sunday, October 2.
Blizzard confirmed the news to Eurogamer in an interview yesterday. The October 2 date was given from the perspective of someone living in the Pacific time zone, says Eurogamer, so depending on the precise hour that the servers go down, it could occur on October 1st or 3rd for people in other areas.

>> Just to be clear, I'm posting this article for the update and its contents, not because of Game Pass.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is coming for the extraction shooter crown
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-warzone-20-is-coming-for-the-extraction-shooter-crown/
The past year of Call of Duty leaks and rumors have frequently talked about a mysterious new Warzone mode that incorporates "sandbox" gameplay and AI enemies. Today, Infinity Ward confirmed that Warzone 2.0 will include a mode called DMZ, an "extraction mode" that sounds a lot like Hunt: Showdown and Escape From Tarkov.
>> And here's when it launches.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is bringing back third-person mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-is-bringing-back-third-person-mode/
Infinity Ward is dropping lots of new Modern Warfare 2 details during its Call of Duty Next event today, including the first trailer for multiplayer and details of Warzone 2.0's DMZ mode. The trailer is pretty much your standard CoD promo—guns, explosions, a remixed song from the '90s. But for a brief moment, we got a glimpse at something that hasn't been in Call of Duty since the 2009 original Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will introduce Destiny-style raids
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-will-introduce-destiny-style-raids/
One of the most interesting parts of today's CoD Next livestream was the announcement of raids as part of Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer. According to an official blog post, raids will be "a three-player cooperative engagement requiring teamwork and strategic, puzzle-solving thinking in-between bouts of intense combat."

Halo: The Master Chief Collection microtransaction plans ditched
https://www.pcgamer.com/halo-the-master-chief-collection-microtransaction-plans-ditched/
Spartan Points are the currency in Halo: The Master Chief Collection used to unlock cosmetics. You have to actually play the game to earn them, but back in June, 343 Industries announced it was considering making them purchasable. The justification was cloaked in benevolence: it was to be an "optional, additive alternative for players who might find the vast scope of content to be an intimidating amount of playtime and want to get ahead on (or skip) the grind, or maybe want to grab the specific items they want."
It's true that MCC has a load of cosmetic items, including armour effects, voices, weapon skins and more. But if you consider playing Halo so toilsome that you'd prefer to pay to earn these in-game spoils, here's bad news, I guess: Halo: MCC is definitely not getting purchasable Spartan Points, 343 announced today. That's probably comforting news for existing Halo players who are proud to have earned their in-game garb the hard way.

People in Germany can at last buy Wolfenstein 3D
https://www.pcgamer.com/people-in-germany-can-at-last-buy-wolfenstein-3d/
You can always rely on PCG to bring you the news of the hottest game releases as soon as they're announced. Whether it's shadow drops at Gamescom, bombshell announcements at TGS, or the latest news on hotly-anticipated titles like, uh, Wolfenstein 3D.
Okay, 1992's premier FPS isn't news to you, but people in Germany haven't been able to buy the game since it was effectively banned from sale in 1994 for its inclusion of Nazi symbols. That ban—and a later one on the game's 1997 expansion Spear Of Destiny—was at last lifted in 2019, but German players still couldn't really get their hands on the games because they hadn't been given an age rating by Germany's Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (Entertainment Software Self-Regulation, or USK).
>> Better late than never.

Let's check the deals at GOG (no weekend sale this time) and Steam:

+GOG

+Steam

And that's it. Until next time, I wish you all a happy and gaming weekend.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs waiting in warehouses since August

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/88449/nvidia-geforce-rtx-40-series-gpus-waiting-in-warehouses-since-august/index.html

"I've been speaking with a few industry sources of mine, with one of them well-connected in Taiwan saying that NVIDIA has been stockpiling GeForce RTX 4090, GeForce RTX 4080 16GB, and GeForce RTX 4080 12GB graphics cards since August"

Another one claiming 4080 16GB and 4080 12GB... I don't like where this is going cause I get the feeling Nvidia will price 4080 12GB at $700, 4080 16GB at $1000, and 4090 somewhere between $1500-$2000. That way, they could potentially price the 3080 Ti at $500 and go down the stack. AMD could of course, really ruin Nvidia's day by pricing their GPUs more appropriately but I think AMD will follow Nvidia's lead when it comes to placing their GPUs in the performance tier. But we will see.

The Long-term CHIPS Act Tailwind for NVIDIA Faces a Hurricane of Short-term Headwinds From the China Sales Ban, Ethereum’s Revamp, and PC Demand Slowdown

Of course on the other hand, they could price it more appropriately due to market conditions where 4080 12GB could cost $500, 4080 16GB $700 and 4090 $1500. If they do that, while the naming will be confusing, least we aren't getting fucked on the price.

Intel Kills Pentium & Celeron Brand, Replaces It With Simple “Intel Processor” Branding For 2023 CPU Lineup

https://wccftech.com/intel-kills-pentium-celeron-brand-replaces-with-simple-intel-processor-branding-for-2023-cpu-lineup/

Idk if I like this move because it will make it more confusing for those who are not aware. Calling them Pentium or Celeron was important cause we would know where they would be in the stack pretty easily.

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-arc-a770-gpu-can-hit-2-7-ghz-clock-in-hitman-3-when-optimized

Does the clock speed even matter if it can't keep up with a 3060 Ti?

One thing I will say is while Blizzard continues to fall from grace, I will give a hand to Sega for being one of the rare companies that continues to stuck out for PC gamers. As I am playing through Yakuza Judgement on Steam, it would be good to remember that this wouldn't be possible without Sega. For those who don't remember, when Judgement came out on consoles and Sega wanted to port the Judgement series to PC... The talent agency that is responsible for hiring the actors in the game said "No" in fear of mods. I think we all know that in this situation, many companies would have just ended it there and kept Judgement on consoles exclusively. But Sega kept on pushing and clearly, it paid off.

It really goes to show how much the PC platform has grown and it is a platform that can no longer be simply ignored. And with the emergence of new ways to play with handheld PCs, it will only continue to grow!

But we will see.

The whole 12GB 4080 model, which I'm still hoping it's a mistake (but that hope is slowly fading away) stinks of Nvidia failing to predict the current economic situation and finding themselves with a real 4080 that's too expensive to be sold for a profit at the usual $700 price spot, going into panic mode and using what was supposed to be the 4070(Ti) to fill that $700 spot that the 4080 should have taken.

Otherwise, why would this card use an AD104 chip instead of the same AD103 of the 16GB model?

What's worse, then, if this is what's going on, is that it moves the whole stack down a step, because that 12GB 4080 leaves no room to have a 4070 and 4060Ti using the same AD104 chip, so the 4060Ti will need to go down to the 106 GPU, affecting in turn the rest of the cards down below.

I know I'll probably be completely wrong but, (again) if this whole thing is true, this could mean that Nvidia could face troubles.

But well, I doubt AMD will try to take advantage of it. They're too focused on making as much money as possible so they'll price their cards along the lines of Nvidia, maybe $50 less just to be able to say that they're trying.
