Alright bois, remember when I said to keep an eye out for crazy deals. Well one of them happened in newegg canada...

https://forums.redflagdeals.com/newegg-gigabyte-gaming-geforce-rtx-3090-ti-24gb-gddr6x-1-147-99-out-stock-2557415/

When converted, the AIB 3090 Ti costed around $890 USD for a brief moment. MSRP on newegg.ca when converted was aroung $1855 USD. Crazy days bois. Fuck you Jayztwocents!

Imagine following this mans advice and getting screwed over.

Prices continue to tumble in the UK as well. You can get a AiB 6900XT for £750, new. And a couple days ago you could get an ASUS TOP 6900XT for £800 and £585 with cashback. The guys a clown, or shill. Probably both.

Those deals are great, of course, but it's a shame that only the highest end get them. The cost of the mid and lower end cards hasn't changed a bit in the last months, at least over here.

Please excuse my bad English.

Someones mining rig burnt down

God what a wonderful sight to behold, karma in action.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I swear Jay is gonna come out of this with a huge L over his face.

Dude could have just apologised in a new vid, but nope lol, gonna ride that "buy now" train till it runs right off the rails.

Gotta say, I've lost some respect for the guy after this shitfest. Tech Yes is goofing up a bit as well with his whole "buy used...but don't forget to benchmark the fuck out of the used cards to tell if it's been mined or not" (which not everyone is gonna fucking do, myself included).

True, its mainly the high end stuff seeing big drops in retail. If you check the used market find some good deals on there too for lower end/mid range cards. Granted some of them are likely to cards that have been mined on.

Yeah almost 1M views and quite a substantial dislike ratio. Not that it do anything to his channel but for a lot of people it leaves a bit of a bit of bad taste. Especially calling people idiots for not buying a graphics card now and some FUD sprinkled on top. He's just going to sweep it under a rug alongside his other bad takes and clickbait videos.

And true, the used market is a minefield (no pun intended). Its easy to get burned on marketplaces and from resellers, definitely not for everyone.

As you said, the used market isn't exactly advisable right now. You can struck gold, but you can also get a turd.

Right now, it could be best to wait. Nvidia and the AIB are focused on clearing the stock high end cards beacuse those are the cards that will launch first. Once those cards are out, they'll start doing the same with the mid and low end ones as those will launch next.

That is, of course, if the crypto market doesn't explode again.

Leaked preview of the 4090 cooler:

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Only when paired with a 13900K:

Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU With 5.8 GHz Boost Clock, 350W “Unlimited Power Setting” Up To 67% Faster Than AMD Ryzen 9 5950X In Cinebench
https://wccftech.com/intel-core-i9-13900k-raptor-lake-cpu-with-5-8-ghz-boost-clock-350w-unlimited-power-setting-up-to-67-faster-amd-ryzen-9-5950x/
Intel's Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks just keep pouring in a whole two months prior to its expected launch. The latest benchmarks come from OneRaichu who shows the max potential of the chip with an "Unlimited Power" setting and a default boost frequency of 5.8 GHz.

(...)

The exact test configuration wasn't revealed but OneRaichu tested the chips with two profiles, one with the standard "Limited Power" and the other with the "Unlimited Power" setting. Using the first setting, the chip achieved a single-core score of 2290 points and a multi-core score of 35,693 points with a maximum power draw of 253W. The "Unlimited Power" setting removes all shackles & offers the full potential of the CPU. With the new profile, the Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU posted a single-core score of 2288 points which is the same as the first setting but it's the multi-thread CPU score that saw a huge boost. The Cinebench R23 multi-thread score jumped to 40,616 points, that's a 14% boost over the standard power profile.

At the same time, the CPU's power consumption also saw a dramatic increase from 253W to 345W which is something that we mentioned exclusively a few days ago. That's a 36% increase in power for a 14% performance gain so definitely not the best performance efficiency gain here but those who don't care about their power bills would definitely end up using the "Unlimited Power" profile for the best performance.

Dear God, even the "limited power" setting is stupidly high.

At the current rate, CPUs will eventually take as much power as GPUs. Luckily for gaming, you don't need to worry about cpu performance as much as the GPU so mid ranged CPUs will be plenty strong.
