Obviously take it with a grain of salt but $824 now where as if you bought it when Jay did his shat video, you would have paid over $1000. And this is the Strix model!

I wouldn't blame you for pulling the trigger if it hits $600. 2080 Ti for $500-$600 was insane value and it more often than not beat the 3070.

Strix model for 800

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

The Star Deal, that started yesterday, is DOOM Eternal - Deluxe Edition, 70% off during another 24 hours. Be careful because it has almost run out of keys: https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/doom-eternal-deluxe-edition

Got one of the last keys.

I played through the main game on GamePass and was thinking about buying Ancient Gods Part 1 + 2 for 10 € each in the Marketplace / Windows Store:

But 21 € for the Steam Deluxe version is much better... now I can play it on Steam Deck, too!
Another game for my "impossible ports" microSD-card.

The new Brutal Doom Black version also looks great:

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Thanks to a modder, the cat in Stray now hates Mondays and loves lasagna
https://www.pcgamer.com/stray-mods/
'Moody cat adventure game' should have been a genre for decades already, but somehow Stray's housecat protagonist feels novel, and players already want more cat options. Modders have answered that call, turning Stray's orange tabby into all kinds of alternative cats: black cats, gray cats, calico cats, lasagna cats. Yes, you can now play Stray as Garfield.
Modder Chris Rubino is responsible for putting the Jim Davis cartoon cat into Stray with the "Garfield - Cartoon Edition" mod, which can be downloaded at NexusMods.

This cursed mod replaces The Stanley Parable's narrator with TikTok's female text-to-speech voice
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-cursed-mod-replaces-the-stanley-parables-narrator-with-tiktoks-female-text-to-speech-voice/
In a classic case of the PC gaming community asking whether it could, instead of whether it should, a modder has created a mod for The Stanley Parable that replaces the game's iconic narrator (brilliantly voiced by Kevan Brighting), with Tiktok's female text-to-speech voice.
The mod, created by a modder known as KabanFriends, overdubs the narrator's lines with Tiktok's relentlessly chipper TTS robot. It is apparently inspired by a similar mod that gives Portal the Tiktok treatment, replacing GLaDOS' lines with the same voice.

Blizzard has confirmed that last week's leak was accurate: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be out on September 26.
Wrath of the Lich King, detailing the battle against Arthas Menethil in the frozen realm of Northrend, is arguably the best expansion in World of Warcraft's history, and the Classic edition promises a few key changes to make it more immediately accessible for newcomers. First and foremost, players will be able to jump into the Death Knight class right from the start rather than have to reach level 55 as they did in the original version.

VRChat is being review bombed to hell and back after anti-cheat announcement

VRChat is being absolutely nuked into the ground on Steam after the developer announced it would be adding Easy Anti-Cheat into the game.
It was quietly implemented into the game's beta on July 25, with a blog post pinning its introduction on mods. While modifying the game's client has been against terms of service for a hot sec, it's generally a widely-accepted part of VRChat. The vanilla game can run poorly and has a stark lack of accessibility features, something that the mods are often making up for.

Glaciered is an aquatic action game set 65 million years in the future where you play an ass-kicking ninja fish-bird
https://www.pcgamer.com/glaciered-is-an-aquatic-action-game-set-65-million-years-in-the-future-where-you-play-an-ass-kicking-ninja-fish-bird/
At first, I thought Glaciered resembled a big-budget spiritual successor to Abzû. The trailer for the newly announced game, which sees you exploring an entirely oceanic Earth 65 million years in the future, starts with its bizarre fish-bird protagonist (known as Tuai, apparently) gliding effortlessly through stunning underwater locations. Beneath the giant glacier that covered this far-future Earth, your Tuai flits through underwater caves and carves pathways through carpets of seagrass. It looking beautiful, charming, and relaxing, a glorious chillout adventure in the vein of Giant Squid's mini-masterpiece.
Then, all of a sudden, your Tuai starts kicking the shit out of a shark.

Intel Outside: Apple & AMD Remove All Traces of Intel Hardware From Their M2 MacBook & Rembrandt Laptops

https://wccftech.com/intel-outside-apple-amd-remove-all-traces-of-intel-hardware-from-their-m2-macbook-rembrandt-laptops/

It's interesting what happens when you sleep on your laurels for so long that even Apple got sick of all the nonsense, developed their own CPU/GPU and dumped you. And with AMD continuously increasing in market share in Server, the clock is ticking.

But the long term clock is ticking for Nvidia because if AMD and Intel get their shit together and manage to catch up to Nvidia in the GPU department, then Nvidia won't have much leeway as they don't yet have a CPU in the consumer space. So for Nvidia's sake, they should hope that AMD and Intel will continue to be behind in the GPU space.

"I can't tell you who my NUMEROUS sources are because people would lose their jobs but the RTX 4000s are delayed AT LEAST a year!"

Why yes, Nvidia, a company that has never missed a two year release cycle will surely miss it now cause "my sources" said so. If he were to use an ounce of logic, he would realize how dumb that statement is. Least he said to take it with a huge amounts of salt but come on.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

So my friend had his RX 580 die on him so he went out and bought a 3080 12GB for around $650sh USD once converted. He did also buy a Lian Li Lancool 2 case along with 850 watt PSU since his 550 Watt is not a good idea with a 3080 loll.

The interesting thing though is even though he has a 6600k, his CPU cooler is loud af with a 3080 compared to his 580 mainly due to the cpu usage has gone up significantly. Granted his CPU cooler is the Hyper 212 Evo but still, it's something that I didn't really think about. He will wait till Zen 4/Raptor Lake before upgrading though and while he was hoping to get Lovelace instead, can't do much when your GPU dies.

Its quite sus how hard he's trying to get people to buy new graphics cards right now. And that he's 'helping people'.. There's a flooded market of them in retail channels. And thats not taking into consideration of the used market which is going lower by the day. If you can get a 3000 series rn and are happy then great, otherwise trying to spread FUD about 4000 series availability and 'delay' trying to get people to buy buy buy.. just looks like he's another sellout or just have some bad info from unhappy board partners (probably sources from EVGA/MSI). Not buying it Jay.

And yeah Nvidia is going to be a world of crap if they don't release this year. They can't sit on unsold inventory forever.. demands from board partners or w/e don't have a say.

Pricing it below the 3090Ti is good as it implies that Nvidia won't raise the price this gen or, at least, that the price hike won't be huge.

Or, at least, that's what I hope.

Haven't you heard about the JIUSHARK 2-THREE? It onlñy comes with a 60mm fan!

But yes, Gen 5 drives will be quite hot.

A couple months ago Guru3D did a test with two NVMe drives, Gen 3 and Gen 4 with several heatsinks, and having one for a Gen 4 drive is a necessity:

The worst part of his "buy now because they won't launch in a year" argument (I haven't seen the video so I don't know the details), is that, even if true, it's completely flawed. There is also AMD on the market and they will launch their cards.

So you can buy now (when he did the video) some overpriced cards or wait because it doesn't matter what will happen, those cards will get cheaper either because the 4000 series launches and they become "last gen" or because AMD launches their cards and, no matter how big or small their performance jump is, the 3000 series at the actual prices won't be attractive anymore.

He made a big mistake and, instead of admiting it and move on, he doubles down on it, making it worse.
