F*ck Ethereum and all the cryptos. It feels like a nightmare that never ends.

Also, that build is a crime. It's not that you should get a refund for it after finding out what it has, it's that you should deserve an extra more for the damages you suffered by using it.

Microsoft's head of gaming has hope for future of emulation
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/microsofts-head-of-gaming-has-hope-for-future-of-emulation/
It's been a big news week for Phil Spencer, Microsoft's head of gaming. Spencer has taken a hard stance on Activision's roiling controversy and also chimed in on the debate about NFTs in gaming. In a conversation with Axios, he expressed a desire to see industry-wide support for console emulation like Xbox's backwards compatibility program.
>> It remains to be seen if he also supports that console emulation on PC.

Star Citizen has now raised over $400M
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/star-citizen-has-now-raised-over-dollar400m/
Less than 18 months after clearing the $300 million mark, Star Citizen has now raised over $400 million in crowdfunding. At the time of writing, 3,364,629 players have contributed a total of $402,657,305 according to its funding goals page.
>> Insane.

Would be amazing though I doubt other companies will follow suit. When they can make bank reselling their games generation one after another on rereleases and 'remasters'. There's very little incentive for them to put effort into supporting legacy games *CoughNintendoCoughSony* Though tbf Sony has been getting better with emulation with PS5.

@ Star Citizen, I'm amazed that people are still pumping money onto this vaporware. >400M for a game nowhere near completion is insane lol.

But that's the sad thing, they can't even resell all the games because they don't work. Only a handful gets the remaster/remake treatment and get a second chance. With proper emulators, all the games would work and keep selling.

But well, this would be great for consoles but, what about PC? Would they still be against them? (my opinion is that yes, they would).

Regarding Star Citizen... wel, at least there's a Beta and the backers can play it. It's not like they got nothing from their money like some vaporware. But I agree that it's been on Beta long enough to reach the 1.0 status and launch, and then keep adding extra stuff like the rest of MMOs do.

That's what quick and dirty re-releases are there for. People see 'new' re released titles with in a few extras, updates and DLC and bam they can charge full price for them. Iirc from sales figures of recent cross platform titles people generally move quickly onto new consoles when they release (granted if they are in stock and readily available). Sony and Nintendo or whoever does the remasters/remakes put little effort and get money back. Have to consider as well that retail games generally lose value (outside of Nintendo ones) due to a various reasons like retailers stock space, shelf life etc.

Going into console history.. if we go back in time, PS was very BC-centric until the PS3 which broke PS2 emulation outside of the first models, same with PS4 and they realized they could make more money from reselling legacy games on newer platforms. Either way I don't see companies backing this approach. Xbox  has massive backing from MS and huge resources and want to complete as much as they can so they can say stuff like this. They can bleed some money to gain marketshare while others don't have that luxury of supporting and patching old games to work on their new machines.

I've read that people spend an extortionate amount on ships and stuff. Nine years later and still in alpha stages and no actual release schedule or time frame for completion. It just screams vaporware to me. I mean yeah you would have thought a reasonable person or backer would have caught on by now xP I guess if backers are having fun with the builds though tbh its looking like the 'game' they bought is never going to be finished.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Guys i tried the "new" San Andreas on xcloud last night. Just 2-3 missions. Feels unreal streaming games.

Edit: GT 430 in that build. What a time to be alive. I remember people selling their 2070's and 80's when 3000 imaginary GPU's were announced.

Thanks. With so many titles shortened to acronyms, sometimes it's hard to know what games we're talking about.

Someone is remaking Grand Theft Auto San Andreas from scratch
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/someone-is-remaking-grand-theft-auto-san-andreas-from-scratch/
Reddit’s member ‘MapEditorMaster’ is currently remaking Grand Theft Auto San Andreas from scratch in Far Cry 5’s Map Editor. According to the Redditor, this map will feature a portion of the GTA San Andreas map, and will have proper gameplay elements.
From the looks of it, MapEditorMaster has carefully avoided using any copyrighted material. As such, Rockstar and Take-Two won’t be able to shut this project down. And while this looks like GTA San Andreas, it does not feature any direct references to it. In short, Take-Two can’t really issue a C&D takedown.
>> It only covers a very small part of the map (there's a picture in the article highlighting this), but you can learn more here.

This mod adds “The Matrix” bullet time effect in Red Dead Redemption 2
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/this-mod-adds-the-matrix-bullet-time-effect-in-red-dead-redemption-2/
Modder ‘WickedHorseMan’ has introduced a simple but cool mod for Red Dead Redemption 2. As the title suggests, this mod adds a “The Matrix” bullet time slow-mo effect in the game that players can use.
By using this mod, players can slow down the time and dodge bullets by sight or sound. Also, this mod does not feature any aimbot when using it, and does not show any fatal/critical region.
>> You can get this mod from Nexus Mods.

One week in, Halo Infinite modders are already remaking the game
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/one-week-in-halo-infinite-modders-are-already-remaking-the-game/
Halo Infinite might have only come out last week. But Halo modding is an art going back decades, and it didn't take long for modders to crack 343's newest creation open.
In the game's first week, modding was fairly limited, and the game's Nexus Mods page is limited to mods that realised you can swap the game's loading screens out for any .mp4 you fancy. But over the last few days, a few more ambitious creations have appeared on Infinite's battlegrounds.

In 2019, Obsidian added a "final God Challenge" to its then year-old RPG Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire called The Ultimate, which made the game much more difficult to complete—so difficult, in fact, that the studio promised to engrave the names of the first 12 people to complete it on a plaque hanging in its offices. As is often the case, players began knocking off the virtually impossible challenge in short order, and by early 2021, 11 of the 12 slots on the plaque were filled.

Townscaper is delightful. But what could be more delightful than dropping from that architectural birds-eye-view to walk down the cobbled streets of your own creations?
Thankfully, urban planner Meli Harvey has given us the opportunity to do that with a free browser toy, Threescaper. Earlier this year, Townscaper received an update that let you export your creations as .obj 3D model files. Plug that file into Threescaper, and you're free to take a walk through that town with rudimentary first-person controls.

JPR: AMD and Intel GPU shipment decreased by 11% and 26% respectively from last quarter, NVIDIA increased by 8%

https://videocardz.com/press-release/jpr-amd-and-intel-gpu-shipment-decreased-by-11-and-26-respectively-from-last-quarter-nvidia-increased-by-8

It's interesting how last year, we were a bit annoyed that Nvidia went with Samsung instead of going with TSMC. In retrospec however, it was absolutely the correct move. 83% in dGPU market share is insane vs AMD's 17%! But the problem with Lovelace/RDNA 3 is the fact that they are both on the same node so if the mining continues... Well... Good Luck getting one!

Intel Meteor Lake GPU tile rumored to utilize TSMC 3nm process technology

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-meteor-lake-gpu-tile-rumored-to-utilize-tsmc-3nm-process-technology

So AMD is rumoured to be Samsung's 3nm sometime in the future while Intel is rumoured to be using TSMC's 3nm. I wonder what Nvidia will use.
