This Minecraft mod adds hydras, gorgons, death worms, and trained dragons
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/this-minecraft-mod-adds-hydras-gorgons-death-worms-and-trained-dragons/
It's always exciting when Mojang adds new mob types to Minecraft. We've seen the recent additions of the axolotl, glow squids, and mountain goats, with more sinister creatures like the blind warden coming in the second part of the Caves and Cliffs update.
If Mojang's 50+ mobs aren't enough for you, then look no further than Raptorfarian and Alexthe666's Ice and Fire: Dragons, a mod that adds a whole load of fantasy creatures into the base game. What originally started out as a project to add more dragons into the game back in 2017 has developed into a whole bestiary of monsters. The list is huge, including the likes of hippogryphs, gorgons, dread liches, sea serpents, hydras, pixies, cyclopes, trolls, death worms, and ghosts.

Rainbow Six total conversion mod pulls 56 missions together into one huge campaign
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/rainbow-six-total-conversion-mod-pulls-56-missions-together-into-one-huge-campaign/
Before it became a major esports franchise, Rainbow Six was a tactical shooter series about a team of elite international operatives who battle dangerous terrorists around the world—basically GI Joe for people who want to be taken seriously by their spouses and co-workers.
It's been awhile since we've had a new game in that style—Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 in 2008, I believe—but the contents of seven past Rainbow Six releases, adding up to a whopping 56 missions in total, are now available in a single package called Rainbow Six: Black Ops 2.0, a total conversion mod for Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear.

Created by modder ‘merendas235’, this 4K Texture Pack is 1.6GB in size and upscales all of the game’s textures. Furthermore, the modder has upscaled all of the game’s cinematics.

https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/new-wip-video-from-the-tomb-raider-the-angel-of-darkness-remake-in-unreal-engine-4/
Back in July 2021, we shared some new screenshots from the upcoming fan remake of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness in Unreal Engine 4. And yesterday, FreakRaider and Konrad Majewski shared a new WIP video from it.
This video showcases some gameplay mechanics, as well as some of Lara’s new moves and animations. From what we can see, the team aims to fix and improve everything that gamers hated in Angel of Darkness. As such, Lara will be more flexible and the game will – hopefully – has fewer bugs than its original version.

Deathloop is less than a week away, but Bethesda managed to sneak in one last trailer full of flashy firefights, vibrant locales, and eccentric party animals. Courtesy of Sony's latest PlayStation Showcase, the trailer is narrated by protagonist Colt Vahn, who is understandably fed up with the authoritarian Visionaries who run his prison-turned-party island. He's got a lot of questions that the trailer doesn't quite answer, but it does tease some interesting threads to follow, like a poster that purports that Colt is the island's Head of Security.

Tales of Arise has shattered the franchise record for highest concurrent players on Steam. It's a higher peak than ALL previous Tales games on PC combined!

Honestly this game runs like butter. Now granted I have a powerful PC but even then, it's quite good in terms of optimization for a Japanese developer. You get a lot of graphical options as well... The power of Unreal Engine I suppose. Too bad there's no official ultrawide support afaik. Baby steps.

Note to self don't mess around with bios's when you already have a working PC - and tired AF. Just updated the mobo with the latest ASUS 4021 bios and spent hours figuring out why my PC wouldn't post, with black screen (FU!). Tried resetting CMOS, and different DP ports, HDMI, reseating GPU's into different slots, using single slot ram to no avail.

Finally managed to get it working again (by a lot a trial and error) by doing all the above and changing output to HDMI.. lol. Totally not worth it the hassle. Thought I bricked the thing and the worst thing is no flashback or USB flash or dual bios to land back on! Never again. Definitely a case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it xD

Yea pretty much. BIOSes can be all over the place. The main thing I found is that the BIOS updates work best with the configuration of that era. So with X370 in my old system worked fine with 1700x CPU. But when I upgraded to the 3900X, that's when urghhness started to happen since I needed to upgrade BIOS as well in order to receive support for 3000 series. Basically 9/10 times, it just wouldn't boot until it went into it's "crash free BIOS" mode. Eventually after tinkering around with it, I found that it was cause for some reason, the RAM timings were causing the problem. I set the RAM timings to manual, boom, no issues after that. Like the weirdest thing ever.

Of course, this is gonna get even worse with the launch of Windows 11 as I am sure there will be BIOS and chipset updates to get Windows 11 working sufficiently. Overall though, it's better to spend the extra money on BIOS flashback cause it could save you a lot of headaches lol.

Epic vs. Apple Ruling Reveals Latter Must Allow App Store to Direct Users to Third-Party Payment Options

https://wccftech.com/epic-vs-apple-ruling-must-allow-users-to-third-party-payment-options/

“[Apple is] permanently restrained and enjoined from prohibiting developers from including in their apps and their metadata buttons, external links, or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms, in addition to In-App Purchasing and (ii) communicating with customers through points of contact obtained voluntarily from customers through account registration within the app.”

"Judge Rogers had also ruled that Epic Games shall pay damages since it breached Apple’s App Store contact when it attempted to circumvent the commission requirement and tried to add a third-party payment option."

"The damages owed are 30 percent of the $12,167,719 in revenue that Epic Games collected from users in the Fortnite app on iOS through direct payments between August 2020 and October 2020. Additional damages include 30 percent of any such revenue Epic Games collected from November 1, 2020, through the date of judgment, plus interest."

Wow... Epic Won! It is being appealed but this is gonna cause quite the stir in the industry.

Not really.

“the court cannot ultimately conclude that Apple is a monopolist under either federal or state antitrust laws"

Apple still gets the 30% from purchases. No 3rd party app stores. Fortnite is still banned from the Apple app store. The only thing Apple lost is on the anti-steering rule.

Regardless, both parties are likely to appeal.

One of the reasons why I hate updating firmware in general they can be so finicky and nerve-racking. Like if there's something that goes wrong you can say goodbye to that unless there's some sort of fallback. I remember bricking my Razer Deathadder before due to a bad flash.

Idd on Ryzen set ups I noticed that its extra picky on RAM types and timings for stability. Which is why I'm a bit more reluctant to touch my memory for any type of OC. Though tbf, in my case it was kinda my fault since I forgot to reset settings to default before updating it (a big nono). But yeah, going to spend the extra in the future to save myself the stress should something go wrong. That extra 20-30 bucks is way worth it than my time and reassurance!

About that Epic case.. that's insane. Should that bill go though that will have a big impact on closed platforms. For developers this will be a game-changing thing. Particularly if release freeware with paid content. If Sony/MS get hit by this I'd expect there will be a lot of publishers looking at free to play model (GaaS) for the games.

Those things weren't ever gonna happen regardless and the main thing that Epic was interested in was allowing Epic to use their own payment platforms which started the entire thing.

I don't see how Apple is going to get 30% from every transaction if app developers can now get users to use their own payment platforms. We also don't know if Fortnite is a permanent ban or not.
