That is one beast of a computer! Least you will be able to watch some educational vdeos while you wait.

Don't forget to uninstall McAfee and download the latest GPU driver.

It came with Kaspersky installed, but any particular reason not to use McAfee?

It slows down your computer a lot while giving a lot of false positives. It's better to just use Windows defender than McAfee. I haven't used Kaspersky though.

Valheim mod makes kicking way more kicky
https://www.pcgamer.com/valheim-mod-makes-kicking-way-more-kicky/
As we've noted before, kicking in games is the best thing you can do with your virtual foot. A game with a good kick, like FEAR or Dying Light or Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, is more fun and memorable because you can leg-lash enemies to death instead of just shooting or stabbing them. Kicks are way better than a knife slash, more degrading than a measly punch.
And you can kick in Valheim, but the vanilla kick doesn't really kick ass. Until now. The Give 'Em The Boot mod will take your kick to new heights by launching your enemies to new, well, heights. Lighter enemies, like the lowly greydwarf, will actually be propelled into the air by your mighty boot. Heavier enemies might not get launched, but they will still be knocked back more than they are usually. The mod even lets you kick while holding a weapon, so if you're getting mobbed and running out of stamina, you can knock enemies away and give yourself a second or two of breathing room.

Good news! I was able to get my hands on TWO RTX 3070s courtesy of a friend who owns and store. I didn't want to ask him for the obvious reasons (he might have customers that want them) but I still went just to ask him if he knew where I could get a GPU at all and he went to the back to "check up on his computer". Turns out the guy had two of these cards, but they are engineering samples. He literally threw them into a bag and that was it, but hey! I have a GPU at last!

Lucky you! Just remember to give him the one you won't be keeping, so that someone else can be as lucky as you.

I'm sending the other to my old man since he does a lot of technical work that uses GPU power and his current rig will almost certainly be an outdated rustbucket by now.

Also, he has a 3090 in his own PC.

I see. It will be a good present for your father.

There's not enough salt in the world for me to believe that. Nintendo going with the latest hardware? One that hasn't even been announced yet? That would be a first, and also a waste of silicion for "only" a Super or Pro device.

Yea it's quite unlikely but if they really want to push that 4k upscaling on a mobile chip, they would need quite a beefy chip since DLSS doesn't do very well once you get under the 1080p render resolution. But yea, Lovelace would be quite the power house for a mid cycle refresh. Especially for Nintendo!

Very hard to believe.. though this is Kopite7kimi and his leaks for Nvidia are pretty much on point. Would be a crazy jump if true. From Maxwell to Lovelace in one gen and this is for a mid-gen release. Its just not very Nintendo's, given their past products that use old cheaper defunct hardware and good markups.

Who knows.. maybe they'll just jump straight into next gen with Switch 2 and go all in. I'd buy one for £350-400.

I will say that the Xbox One X was a pretty big jump from the original Xbox One even though the One X was a mid-cycle refresh.

It went from 1.3 TF to 6TF with a die shrink and significantly higher bandwidth and vram capacity not to mention other improvements but the main purpose was to push that 4k resolution. So it's certainly not unheard of to have a mid-cycle refresh with a huge gpu improvement, especially if it's targeting 4k. But Nintendo doing it is certainly unheard of and it is very unexpected if true.

That's true. One X was a huge upgrade in specs only let down by the crappy CPU.

But yeah we also did get that other rumour last month from Nate Drake, that this was going to use DLSS and A78. So maybe they have decided to double down on cutting edge. Given how well third party games have done it kind of makes sense to also have a system capable of ports from other consoles like PS5 and Series X/S consoles without nearly as much time/trouble. As well as capable of playing all current Switch games at 4K ofc.
