Well, DF praised the checkerboard solution from the PS4, so if AMD can come up with something that improves it, it would be a great start. After all, while not ideal, they could combine two or more of the known techniques together for better results.

But we'll have to wait and see how they manage to solve it, and if MSOft's DirectML plays a role in it or not.

Yea I think any improvement is better than no improvement. As much as we want a DLSS alternative, I honestly do think we won't get a good solution until RDNA 3 at the minimum.

It's kind of like G-sync vs Freesync. Nvidia came out with the awesome technology but also was exclusive to Nvidia. A few years later, AMD came out with Freesync but you didn't get a real good implementation until a few more years after Freesync officially came out. Now you have G-sync compatible which makes G-sync only monitors a bit pointless.

Waste of Sand: Intel Core i7-11700K CPU Review & Benchmarks vs. AMD 5800X, 5900X, More

Pretty much falls in line with Anandtech's tests where it's behind the 5800x in gaming and sometimes, even behind the 10700k. The main reason why it's sometimes behind the 10700k is due to the default turbo frequency boosting lower. Also the OC headroom seems to be quite limited.

Tuesday news, part two:

The Sims 4 is getting bunk beds at long last
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-sims-4-is-getting-bunk-beds-at-long-last/
After what feels like an eternity, Maxis is finally bringing bunk beds to The Sims 4, along with some unknown trait improvements.
The Sims team teased bunk beds a couple of weeks ago, tweeting a not-so-subtle silhouette of the furniture. Bunk beds originally made an appearance in The Sims 3: Generations Expansion Pack, and players have been begging for their return in The Sims 4 since the game's release in 2014. There are a ton of mods and custom content out there that try to make bunk beds, but usually with unintended wacky animations or visual bugs.

Spring will deliver long-awaited SPECIAL loadouts and camp slots and the summer brings new Brotherhood of Steel story missions and NPCs. The latter half of the year is a bit vague on the details but points to changes in private servers, a new Halloween event, pets for your camp, and at least one flying saucer.
