So much talk about coolers reminded me that I had planed to just use my current Noctua for the next build, only buying the AM4 mounting kit in case I go with AMD, but now I realize that I've been using the same cooler and fans for more than 10 years.

It will probably be wisesr to get a new cooler, or at least new fans (that will be almost as expensive as a whole new cooler).

Please excuse my bad English.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I think I'll just get the z73 AIO. I am getting pretty tired of waiting tbh so I'll just say f it and attempt to deal with the cable management issues.

Who remembers jumper settings? When you had to set your PC multi and FSB with actual physical switches on the motherboard? Or using jumpers to set a HDD/Optical Disk drive as a Master and Slave on an IDE ribbon cable? Those were the days... Still makes me moist thinking about it

Thank you, now I feel really old...

Also, creating a boot disc after all of this has been successfully done. And then possibly a couple more for those pesky games that needed very specific settings in autoexec.bat, command.com and config.sys to get them to run with the 640k of memory available under DOS...

While we're at it, setting the hardware to the right addresses and interrupts and remembering all those when setting up the games and software in the future.

This procedurally-generated Counter-Strike map has 'tens of millions' of variations
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-procedurally-generated-counter-strike-map-has-tens-of-millions-of-variations/
A Counter-Strike: Global Offensive mapmaker has somehow crafted an aim map capable of procedurally generating roughly 30 million unique layouts.
Released on the Steam Workshop last week, each new round of modder Orel's "Rogue Inferno" aim map offers up a completely new arena to shoot it out in using Inferno's props and textures. A starting room lets you choose whether you want a map to be symmetrical, half-symmetrical or otherwise, while there's even a clunky seed picker for saving your favourite configurations.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-patent-filed-by-rockstar-may-hint-at-significant-gta-6-npc-ai-traversal-improvements/
It appears that recently some Reddit users have discovered a new patent application filed by Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, in October 2020. The patent application is titled as ‘System And Method For Virtual Navigation In A Gaming Environment’, which is most likely for the developer’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.
Although there is no specific reference given to any particular game, it was developed by Rockstar’s lead AI programmer, Simon Parr, and David Hynd, Rockstar’s associate director of technology, which suggests that it could be related to the studio’s next game, GTA6.

Hydroneer's new Power and Logic update adds complex customization options
https://www.pcgamer.com/hydroneers-new-power-and-logic-update-adds-complex-customization-options/
We've not taken a look at mining sandbox Hydroneer since its launch last year, but its come a long way since then. Update 1.6 released a few days ago, adding Logic and Power systems as toys in your sandbox, and a new store in town, Hobson's Powerworks, has an array of items for powering up and running your mining operation. Power comes through big red conduits, while logic comes through large bundles of cabling.

Viking survival game Valheim comes to Steam Early Access in February
https://www.pcgamer.com/viking-survival-game-valheim-comes-to-steam-early-access-in-february/
We got our first look at the Viking survival game Valheim last year at the PC Gaming Show, shortly after which we declared it one of the most exciting games we'd seen during the not-E3 period of 2020. We were iffy on the low-poly visual style at first but it grew on us over time, "and when the camera pulls out, the secluded green glades and seascapes look lovely."

CD Projekt promises a 'vigorous' defense against a second Cyberpunk 2077 lawsuit
https://www.pcgamer.com/cd-projekt-promises-a-vigorous-defense-against-a-second-cyberpunk-2077-lawsuit/
CD Projekt says it will "take vigorous action to defend itself" against a second class action lawsuit filed against it over last year's botched release of Cyberpunk 2077. The confirmation of the suit comes just three weeks after the filing of the first legal claim arising from the poor state of the game on previous-generation consoles.

This free puzzler is a clever twist on the Minesweeper formula
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-free-puzzler-is-a-clever-twist-on-the-minesweeper-formula/
A nice little puzzle game called Hexceed launched last week to little fanfare, and it's quite good. It's a Minesweeper-esque game designed to flex your critical thinking, logic, and spatial reasoning skills. It's also completely free for the first five worlds—that's 472 levels by my count. There's an optional buy-in that adds a bonus thousand levels to clear. Between all that and the relaxed soundtrack of chill beats, Hexceed is a great entry in the genre of relaxing puzzle games.

Ninja Theory's upcoming game takes place in an absurdly photorealistic apartment
https://www.pcgamer.com/ninja-theorys-upcoming-game-takes-place-in-an-absurdly-photorealistic-apartment/
It's been nearly a year since Hellblade developers Ninja Theory announced Project: Mara, a psychological horror game set in a single location featuring a single character. Much of that time was spent meticulously and thoroughly creating a physical location as a digital space: One fairly large city apartment. They've taken extreme measures to create it. From ultra-close photography of surfaces to a LIDAR scan of the entire apartment, Ninja Theory's artists have built procedural tools to create the apartment's materials and space in photorealistic detail.

Nuts launch date trailer introduces a big mystery: Why do these squirrels have TNT?
https://www.pcgamer.com/nuts-launch-date-trailer-introduces-a-big-mystery-why-do-these-squirrels-have-tnt/
My dad spent a not-inconsiderable number of hours waging war against the local squirrel population over control of his bird feeders. He fought bravely, and resolutely, and ultimately he lost: After an incident involving an angry squirrel who got loose in the back of his truck, he decided the whole thing wasn't worth the hassle. Detente was achieved: The squirrels were permitted to go about their business more or less unmolested, and somehow life went on pretty much as it always had.
All of this came to mind today with the announcement that Nuts, the "adventure in squirrel surveillance" that was revealed at the 2020 Guerrilla Collective showcase, will be out on Steam and Itch.io on February 4.

https://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-game-in-the-pubg-universe-will-release-on-pc-and-consoles-by-next-year/
The PUBG universe is expanding next year with the survival horror game The Callisto Protocol, but in the meantime, it looks like there's another PUBG game coming to PC and consoles this year. According to Bloomberg, a new "PUBG-related" game will ship "by next year," while another battle royale for mobile is also coming in 2021.

Highfleet is a bombastic RTS with flying battleships and serious FTL vibes
https://www.pcgamer.com/highfleet-is-a-bombastic-rts-with-flying-battleships-and-serious-ftl-vibes/
Microprose has revealed the upcoming combat-strategy game Highfleet: Deus in Nobis, a game built around duels between thousand-tonne flying ships and a mishmash of elements that are hard to pigeonhole. There's the explosive, fast-paced and brutal ship-to-ship combat set above some sort of post-apocalyptic desert; there's a world to explore, with various factions and potential bases for your fleet; there's a modular battleship-building system; I could go on but you get the point.

Auto Chess closes the loop by announcing a MOBA spin-off

Two years after becoming a breakout hit on the Dota 2 workshop, Auto Chess publisher Dragonest this month came full circle by announcing a lane-pushing spin-off for its original Dota offshoot.

Fortnite adds a football gamemode, Pelé's goal celebration, and 23 club strips to boot
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-adds-a-football-gamemode-peles-goal-celebration-and-23-club-strips-to-boot/
Fortnite's phenomenal success has led to no end of celebrity and big brand tie-ins, from concerts by real musicians to Galactus. Even so, there is something about a tie-up between Pelé and Fortnite that's kind of bending my brain a little: I'm not sure how many times I think about 'Pele’s Air Punch Emote.' In terms of sporting icons it does not get much bigger than this.

Did you even watch the video?

"Playstation 5 is not using any form of Ray Tracing ambient occlusion
Medium Local Shadow Ray Tracing
Medium Sun Shadow Ray Tracing
Not every section/level of the game uses Ray Traced Shadows on PS5
PS5 has settings that's Lower than Low on PC which will skew the PC results
6800XT ran the scene very poorly and not scaling like I expected it should
PC is under performing because of the lower than low settings on PS5"

This is all I gotta say to your comment and your terrible attempts at downplaying Ampere:

If it were up to me, you would be banned from this thread for all your attempts to miss lead people
