that GPU is already bending down, where are the support beams

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Inspired by Viv's pics here is a few pictures of the new PC I built early this week

and a closer look at the inside and my amazing cable management.

Shame that due to the GPU situation I had to put my 1070 back into the new build which is now feeling ancient in Graphic Card terms but hopefully if 3080's become available at MSRP or up to £50 higher then I should eventually slot that into my rig but there is no way I'm paying £850-950 that most cards coming in stock are since partners are only supplying their overpriced flagship cards when they do come in stock. The other option I've been considering is to take a temporary step with a 3060Ti which is already near double the performance of the 1070 or just wait it out until the next cycle hoping for better launch supply.

Overall I'm happy with my build after the 2 week wait with the parts to eventually get the PSU everything went smoothly during the build although been a ITX there was a few fidly moments my big hands had to fumble on and after running multiple benchmarks and stress tests I'm very happy with the temperature results on a fairly low/quiet fan curve.

Just need that GPU to put the icing on the cake.

No need if you have reinforced pcie slots. Also it's a very old GPU so it's only natural that things start to sag. Stop age shaming.

Well I just got super cockblocked.

My 5950x shipped so I was gonna order by Phanteks cooler but for some reason, their website now doesn't ship to Canada where as in 2020, they did... And no one else in Canada sells this cooler except for them... Urghh this year

Intel 11th Gen Core “Rocket Lake-S” CPUs prices listed by multiple retailers

*snip*

Who knew that 10th gen would be such good value compared to both Intel and AMD offerings, especially as you could have got a 10 core on sale for $400!

Well, Intel's new CPUs offer fewer cores than the previous generation, so it's reasonable that they a bit less for them. Plus that will make their CPUs more appealing to gamers if their claims are true.

Intel killing Optane isn't surprising.

Nice build!

Shame that the PSU is on top and ruins the cable management.

Please excuse my bad English.

It's doesn't actually ruin the cable management that's just me who hasn't really bothered with it you can route it straight into the compartment on the top that is designed for cable management and around the back of the case and bring them back out near the connectors to hide all of it if I buy some extensions cables.

Also with the side panel you don't see any of the wires or the PSU since the tempered Glass side panel is blacked out across the top.

That's just karma for owning a GPU.

A few more impressions from building my new PC.

This was my 7th build. 4 of them gaming PCs.

I still hate building more than ever.

Building it took about 24h including many breaks to procrastinate. The rest was mostly research for various things.

I actually did not make a single mistake causing me to backtrack any steps. That might be a first.

No hardware or software issues leading to troubleshooting either.

I don't think watercooling is worth it. It adds so much complexity for very little benefit, while adding additional risks.

The migration from my old rig to the new was incredibly seamless, proving once again how ingenious I am for separating my gaming PC from everything else.

It took less than an hour to get from the first boot into bios to start playing Rocket League including install of all programs and drivers and download of games.

Rocket League is not running faster with the new CPU, though there is much more headroom now and background processes won't lead to temporary stutter anymore.

Now where the fuck is my GPU?

More like a sign that says I should stick with Noctua and not have to deal with cable problems with AIO >:P

Tbh I just might since the O11DXL is such a good airflow case although I was hoping the black edition of the U12A would be out by now but alas, that one has been delayed to Q2 urghh

You should do water cooling. Makes you appreciate air cooling just so much more.
