AMD announces event dates for Zen 3 and RDNA 2

Zen 3 - October 8
RDNA2 - October 28

More than a month after the 3080/3090 gets released and it's not even the release dates, just the event dates...

Not even gonna try to steal Nvidia's thunder during their launch? Jeez...

Trying is the first step of failing ~ some AMD exec probably

So I got my new TV. Colors and contrast are definitely better. Playing on it is fine. I'm not sure about Rocket League, though. It feels slower but I don't know if that's the input lag or the lower fps. I will try to get used to it. I doubt I will notice that kind of lag in any other games. For now I'll try to play KoA on it.

Silly question but.. have you set it to game mode?

Yes. I did all that stuff. I am used to playing RL on rock solid 144fps and 1ms response time, it's normal that a TV can't do that.

It's definitely playable, I'll try my best to get used to it. And even if I don't I can just use my monitor to play RL and the TV for everything else.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Godzilla makes its Microsoft Flight Simulator debut with this mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/godzilla-makes-its-microsoft-flight-simulator-debut-with-this-mod/
So far, the bulk of Microsoft Flight Simulator's mods have been sensible things, like new liveries for planes, fixing some of the map's omissions, and introducing the King of the Monsters, Godzilla.
Yes, Godzilla has finally made his Microsoft Flight Sim debut, and it turns out it's on holiday. Don't you know you shouldn't be gallivanting around the world during a plague, Godzilla? Very irresponsible.
Modder Sergio Perea plonked the scaly behemoth down in San Francisco beside the Bay Bridge, but upon closer inspection it doesn't look like the residents of San Francisco actually have anything to worry about. Instead of the real Godzilla—who you should fear and respect—this is just a giant toy. And while he does seem to have posable limbs, he doesn't get to use them to smash cities or other monsters. He just stands there stoically. What a relief. Now all we need is a giant toy Mothra to fly around inside.
>> Oh! A giant, flying Mothra could be very cool. Someone should definitely do it! In any case, if you want the Godzilla mod, you'll have to go to Nexus Mods.

What is it that you don't like? Godzilla or the idea or a flying Mothra?

The announcement of an announcement, somthing stupid that has become a norm this days.

But it was quite obvious that they wouldn't reveal anything today. Something like this deserves some build up and a proper reveal, not a "hey, tomorrow we'll drop the bomb, get ready".

By the way, and for those that don't bother making numbers, here are the % increase for the games you've posted:

Game 3080 2080Ti % increase
Forza Horizon 4 - 4K 150 100 50,00

Nah just the idea of having Godzilla in fight sim is nuts even if it's just mods loll

And yea, I wasn't expecting anything huge but if we want to see what AMD has in store for RDNA 2, we have to wait until the end of october which is just urghh worthy. I want to wait and see if they have something before putting my money down on the next gpu but man, that is gonna be a hard wait while everyone else is fapping to Ampere.

Thanks for those numbers. Exceeded my expectations. Really has big performance leaps in games with Ray Tracing which is expected but also great as a lot of new AAA games are going to have Ray Tracing.

Now the next question will be, if they're revealed in October 8 and 28, when will they launch? The CPUs may hit retail the same month, but I doubt the cards will arrive before November.

I forget but I think AMD said something along the lines of RDNA 2 will come out before consoles? If that's true, it could release before November 10th as Series X will be launching on the 10th.
