Don't get me wrong, mate. I'd love to be able to splash that amount of cash and get the best hardware available. And I'm not the only one. If you can afford to do it, then go for it.

I have the Fractal Define R5 and I love it. It has lots of room, it's easy to work with it and its whisper quiet, I doubt they've messed it up with the R7. My only advise would be to add at least another exhaust fan given that you'll likely go for components that will dump a lot of heat into the case.

I'm beginning to think that 3090 + silent isn't really a combination that's possible.

I was planning to keep the case closed except for bottom intake and back exhaust. If I go with liquid cooling I'll probably have to open up the case at the top which won't do well with noise levels. I could go for a closed top with air cooling but then GPU and CPU probably won't have too much fun within that small case. My current case is pretty huge and I do not have high end components in it so it's pretty much irrelevant, but with the coming Zen 3 and T H I C C Nvidia it might become an issue in a small case like the Define 7. Normally I would have taken the XL version but that's not available in white.

Case is coming in 2 days, maybe it's bigger than I think.

The 3090 will generate a lot of heat, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of them being relatively quiet. After all, their size could allow AIB partners to use bigger fans than usual, reducing the noise.

As for the case, it does depend on the cooling you'll choose. An AIO cooler with a dual or triple radiator could be a problem, but if you can find a good one with a single radiator, that could solve some problems. For example, the Corsair H80, that comes with 2 fans, could be placed in place of the rear fan and relocate that case fan in the front to have 3 intakes at the front, improving the airflow in the case.

Front fans won't do me any good since the door is gonna be closed. I'm just gonna put a big radiator on top and prioritize cooling. Since I've switched to a completely dedicated gaming PC noise level isn't actually too much of an issue since it's not gonna be running all the time. It will probably be fine.

All I need now is a GPU and a CPU so I can actually start building it. And as soon as I do that I'll also buy my new TV. If only AMD wasn't so fucking slow.

As the countdown comes to an end... There's something red in the air! Big Navi rumours perhaps?

I sure hope this is true cause we need some competition!

Remember, GA 104 = 3070, GA102 = 3080/3090

All this tweet says to me is that Big Navi cannot beat a 3080.

Also, isn't that the guy who said "definitely 8nm Ampere"?

Yea that's true but he did get a lot of other things correct. Hopefully this means we start to see more Big Navi leaks since we need something from team Red.

If noise isn't a factor then a dual or triple radiator would take care of your CPU just fine. Your GPU will be another problem.

Like viv said, that means that Big Navi won't be able to touch the 3080/3090. A shame.

At the same time, is it brings competition in that segment and, for some miracle, there's a price war, then the top cards may lower their prices a bit in order to make them attractive.
