I don't support half-truths.

It's just not the full answer...

Pretty much. Between that pricing rumour and DF saying consoles could cost more than $500 USD up to $700 USD. I feel like waiting until next year and seeing if the prices will come down loll

*Checks Eth that he bought a month ago for $320 and now it's $560*

Urghh. I get the feeling the mining craze is gonna happen again as well. 2020 really is a fuck you year.

I feel like it'll be cheaper for me to just replace my 1080ti casing (since one of the bearings is gone and I cba getting tiny pieces for it and unscrewing everything) and wait till next year for better prices.

Jesus why did yours spike up in price?.

If it happens again, I really want to see a push from vendors to stop it from fucking consumers over again, because more mining crazes is how you kill consumer interest.

Well, crypto is essentially unregulated market manipulation. From what I can tell, sketchy companies are trying to get the crypo boom going as they try to bump up the prices of bitcoin. And when that happens, other coins like Eth also go up. That and with Eth 2.0 coming out... Shitz is making me nervous while making me rich at the sametime loll

It's almost like they hate GPU based gaming and want to destroy that side of the market, for money reasons.

I refuse to believe this though. There's no way people can be that obvious.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Doesn't help that the other player isn't all that interested in one end of the market, and has spent so many years catering to middle to low end.

They absolutely could, but they don't care for it as much. Would be really awesome if AMD actually gave more of a damn for high end than their mid range. I'd love to see their same level of enthusiasm that they have for their CPU push toward the GPU side of things.

The funny thing is, for the last 2 years or so, it was at a steady $200-$300. Now it's like boom, up and up and up.

I remember getting my 980ti for near something like £500ish and I thought that was decent, then my 1080ti for around near £700ish and I was like "eh", but after that everything is just 1k+ and I'm like

This is why I've given up on high-end GPU's. I spent £310 on my Gigabtyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070 a few years ago. And can still get up to £200 back on ebay today. So the upgrade to Ampere will be pretty good all considering. I just go for the one with best performance and bang for buck which is usually the X700 series.

Nvidia just keeps upping the prices and moving the line down. I really want AMD and even Intel (wishful thinking) to bring in a rain check on higher end GPU prices. Given how much RAM these cards have and cooling its gonna be pricey indeed.
