You liked 3?! My Godness, that game is awful. I had to force myself to finish it.

Yeah, I even liked 3 and the Vita game. The best of AC3 was the Evil-Washington-DLC.

I haven't played that DLC, but even then... wow!

I haven't liked a single Assassins Creed since the first game.
It was just more of the same... And it was Ubisoft. - But the first game was pretty ground breaking.

I don't know if there have been complains (probably, people love to complain), but for those that bought AC Unity Monday, April 15th, onwards, Ubisoft has decided to give them a refund for it.

Not a bad gesture from those greedy b*stards.

Yeah, same here. AC1 had its problems, but I felt like assassin - I was already dissapointed with AC2, had to force myself to finish it, skipped everything til Black Flag, went for it due the setting, didn't like it, especially arcadey naval combat, skipped evetyhing to Origins, got it due to setting, dropped it after 15 hours, repetitive as hell, went for Odyseey, again cause of setting (obveous pattern here), liked it bit more than Origins, but not enough not to drop it after 20 hours.

AC had potential when it was game about assassins. Once it turned into beat the shit out of everyone, and that was AC2 for me, it lost its charm.

I'm replaying Dragon Age Inquisition ATM. It's surprisingly quite heavy for a 2014 game. Mantle has a higher frame rate but the frame times were the worst I've ever seen in any game (which supposedly is running at 70 fps or so).

I do wish I could get into that franchise, but it's mechanics just throw me off of it.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I kind of wish that Ubisoft did a next gen reimagining of the first AC game because there's just something about it's macabre atmosphere the other games are lacking in but for the most part the first game definitely ended up being more repetitive because it undeniably had comparatively inferior mechanics and a very narrow mission design to the later games ...

The first AC game had really great concept design and story but the later AC games had much better execution thus being more smoother to play. The original AC game could stand to learn a lot from the newer games mechanics, level/world design, and more varied progression structure if they ever decide to do a remake ...

The problem with the newer games IMO is that everything about them was way too conspicuous for the franchise's original concept ...

Yeah, gameplay has never been great, and most of the side quests in II and Inquisition particularly are best ignored. But I like the lore and the characters.

Dragon Age: Origins is the ducks nuts. Was my favorite game last generation.
It's story was fantastic, it's locale was brilliant, the characters were memorable and it felt like an epic adventure that had me laughing at every turn... And it was actually not a super easy game to play through.

If that game was to get a remake/remaster to step up it's visuals... It would end up being my favorite game of this generation too.

Dragon Age 2 was smaller scope, it lost allot of the epicness that Origins had... It's threat didn't seem as pressing, it's world was boring and constrained and repetitive.

In short... Forgettable.

Inquisition however resolved much of Dragon Age 2's issues, it's visuals were fantastic at the time, the characters were memorable... Even if the humor wasn't as hilarious as the first game.
The audio was on-point, the story brought back the feeling of urgency that Origins had.
... But then they convoluted the lot with excessive amounts of fetch/side quests... It's still probably one of my favorite games this generation, shit it's the only one I have 100% completed.

...The Ending had me excited for the sequel.

Yeah. Being Biowares first outing with Frostbite, there was bound to be some teething issues, but in saying that, they did well.
On console it would be nice if it got a Pro/X enhancement patch though... But I guess EA/Bioware don't really like supporting older titles like say... Blizzard.

PC is definitely the place to play it if you have the hardware.

Yeah I agree. The visuals could do with an uptick as well.
It might happen one day, Assassins Creed is one of Ubisofts most lucrative franchises for better or worse.

The excitement I have for it's sequels though just doesn't exist... I guess it's difficult to follow up a game that had many wtf moments and introduced us to a ton of new gameplay elements... The draw distances, story... Was a pretty amazing game when it came out.

I can definitely understand why the later games would be less appealing because a lot of things were lost in the later games like it's compelling atmosphere ...

We need a ray traced remake of Assassin's Creed and launched along with the next gen consoles as a killer app for the new systems ...
