This Resident Evil 2 Remake mod allows you to take Chris Redfield
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-resident-evil-2-remake-mod-allows-you-to-take-chris-redfield/
Resident Evil 2 Remake has just been released and from the looks of it a 3D model of Chris Redfield has been included in it. It appears that this 3D model is based on the Resident Evil 7 model, though it has been slightly enhanced, and as you may have guessed, PC gamers were able to mod the game and replace Leon’s model with this new one.
We don’t know why Chris’ 3D model is included in Resident Evil 2 Remake’s files. Right now, we know that a free DLC will be coming to RE2Remake on February 15th but none of the three scenarios that will be included in it involves Claire’s brother.
But anyway, all you have to in order to play as Chris Redfield is download the mod from here and extract the file to game’s root folder. As always, you should back up the .PAK file in “RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2920561” before applying the mod (in case something breaks).

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/final-fantasy-8-receives-a-hd-remaster-treatment-thanks-to-this-ai-enhanced-hd-texture-pack/
Two days ago, we informed you about an AI-enhanced Texture Pack for Final Fantasy 7. And today, I’m happy to report that Final Fantasy 8 has also received a HD remaster treatment thanks to another AI-enhanced Texture Pack that has been released for it.
Created by modder ‘blippyp’, this Graphical Update mod for Final Fantasy VIII updates all of the background files for the game by using a GAN the modder trained to generate the images.
(...)
To use this mod (that you can download from here), players will need Tonberry and hashmaps. You can find both of these mods from the Qhimm Forums and you’ll have to overwrote the AngelWing textures with these new ones.

Weather Civilization 6's Gathering Storm as the nautical Phoenicians
https://www.pcgamer.com/weather-civilization-6s-gathering-storm-as-the-nautical-phoenicians/
Dido is the latest Civilization 6 leader to be added to the roster in Gathering Storm. You might recognise her from such things as the founding of Carthage, Virgil’s Aeneid and her pop career. She leads Phoenicia and is, according to Firaxis, a pretty good pick if you fancy dominating the world by subjugating the oceans. She can also move her capital around, because who doesn’t need a change of scenery every now and again?

Destiny 2's latest update buffs Golden Gun, nerfs Blade Barrage
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-latest-update-buffs-golden-gun-nerfs-blade-barrage/
Today's Destiny 2 update brings a big buff to the Gunslinger's Golden Gun, including a 40 percent boost to damage inflicted on bosses and an increase in the Six Shooter base damage from 275 to 300. Scoring kills with the Six Shooter will also get you a bullet back, and you can never have too many of those. It's a different story for the Blade Barrage super, though, which had its impact dialed back, and can now also kill the user if you cast it too close to your target. Thanks?

Quantic Dream wants to makes games for all platforms
https://www.pcgamer.com/quantic-dream-wants-to-makes-games-for-all-platforms/
Detroit: Become Human studio Quantic Dream announced its partnership with publisher Netease yesterday, using an android, Chloe, from its last game to spill the beans. It’s an odd, highfalutin video with a fictional character trying to get gamers excited about the Chinese publisher’s investment by calling it the start of a new story “full of hope, dreams and passion”. It was almost a shame that I couldn’t write about it, Quantic Dream being a PlayStation developer, but then it announced it was going multi-platform.

Unfortunately, the spectre of exclusivity has once again appeared, as it has been doing a lot recently, restricting it to PS4 when it launches in mid-February. Everyone else will need to wait, and specific dates will be announced closer to release.

The latest version of Denuvo used in Resident Evil 2 Remake, Denuvo 5.5, has been cracked
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-latest-version-of-denuvo-used-in-resident-evil-2-remake-denuvo-5-5-has-been-cracked/
Resident Evil 2 Remake was released on January 25th and was powered by the latest version of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. And from the looks of it, it took almost a week in order to crack this new version of the controversial anti-tamper tech.
As said, Resident Evil 2 Remake is using the latest version of Denuvo which is – unofficially – titled Denuvo 5.5. From what we know so far, Ace Combat 7 is also using Denuvo 5.5 and the highly anticipated Metro Exodus will be most likely using this particular version.
Contrary to some other releases, Resident Evil 2 Remake does not suffer from any performance issues (despite the presence of Denuvo). As such, and if you are worried about the game’s performance, we strongly suggest buying it as Capcom did an incredible job with the PC version (you can read our PC Performance Analysis article here).

Earlier this month, we informed you about a HD Texture Pack for Metroid Prime. And today, I’m happy to report that PC gamers can enjoy another “remastered” version of a GameCube game, F-Zero GX, thanks to a brand new AI-enhanced Texture Pack that has just been released.
Similarly to Metroid Prime, this “remastered” version of F-Zero GX can only be experienced on the PC via the Dolphin emulator. Now I’m using the word remaster in quotes because this pack only improves the game’s textures and nothing more (but then again, most console remasters simply have AF enabled, are being rendered at higher resolutions and have higher quality textures. So yeah, I guess we can call this F-Zero GX Remaster for the PC?).

Update: Dauntless dev Phoenix Labs emailed PC Gamer to clarify that the migration process will be opt-in only, not an automatic migration of accounts.
Although Epic's store will become the only way to launch Dauntless, "no one will have their account linked without their participation," a rep told PC Gamer. "During the process, we are not sharing any personal info with Epic," the comment added.

Fallout 76 will receive a hotfix today that intends to undo a lot of the issues introduced by the last patch.
According to Bethesda, what happened was "a merge of internal development builds failed to execute properly prior to releasing Patch 5." This reintroduced several older issues that had been corrected in an earlier patch, such as the fix for bobby pin weight, issues with plans and recipes, bulk scrap that can no longer be auto-scrapped, and others.

In a surprise move, given that the last round of nerfs only happened a month ago, Blizzard is changing another batch of problematic cards. The next Hearthstone balance update will focus almost exclusively on the Basic and Classic sets, with changes intended to make some of the most prevalent "auto-includes" into more strategically-selective choices.

Those Who Remain is a "psychological thriller" about life in a small town, the choices we make, and the sometimes-unwelcome consequences that result. Oh, and the small town is enshrouded in the perpetual darkness of a demonic curse that's trapped its citizens in the cold clutches of an endless supernatural night.

Bannermen is a medieval RTS with dynamic environments that we first looked at a couple of years ago. It was in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign that seemed to be going well at the time, but it ran into trouble and was ultimately cancelled. Development went on, however, and it's now slated for release on February 21. Ahead of that, gamers will have a chance to see what it's all about in an open beta that will take place from February 8-10.

Mosh Pit Simulator looks like a brilliant, confusing VR nightmare
https://www.pcgamer.com/mosh-pit-simulator-looks-like-a-brilliant-confusing-vr-nightmare/
Mosh Pit Simulator is a wonky VR physics sandbox full of brainless, boneless creatures that vaguely resemble people. And you can stick rockets on a whale. The story trailer, above, doesn’t clear anything up. Is there a mosh pit? Does it matter? It’s out now in Early Access.

Let's check now the weekend offers from GOG and Steam:
