I'm playing it right now and I agree with you, Shadow Tactics is a very good game.

And I hope Desperados 3 manages to bring into the story those of us that didn't play the first games.

First one is probably best one - or at least it's how I remember it, it was so long ago. Both Steam and GOG verisions have been updated farily recently to run on modern rigs.

Ubisoft is making a new game in strategy series The Settlers, it has announced.
It's simply called—in line with annoying modern game-naming standards—The Settlers, and it'll be with us in fall/autumn 2019. You can check out the first trailer above, and it certainly looks the part.

Actually interested. But sadly it's a Ubisoft game. :'(
Used to love the franchise back in the 90's.

Anything attached to Uplay is basically a dead game.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Pretty much.

And I don't mean it figuratively, I mean literally with their 4 layers of DRM tossed onto some of their games, 5 time installs and no plans for long term support for half of their games. I know EA has basically allowed Battlefront and Titanfall 1 to die on PC (effectively dead MP only based games).

The way Uplay and Origin work means that a good chunk of their games either die a short death, or cease to function due to some layer of DRM either dying or blocking you from going any further.

Blizzard though, those guys are still stuck on the "gotta have a net connection buddy"  bandwagon.

I'll try to check it on youtube, because on the video that's on Steam for the first game, it doesn't seem to run very well.

You may have seen it at the thread about Nvidia's Gamescon presentation and reveal of the RTX 20x0 parts but, if you haven't, you should know that Nvidia has taken notice of the complains about the poor performance of its new card when using Ray Tracing, and has posted a comparison between the 1080 and the 2080:

https://www.techpowerup.com/247019/nvidia-releases-first-internal-performance-benchmarks-for-rtx-2080-graphics-card

Also, at Videocardz have made a summary of other interesting news about the new cards, like the block diagram of the TU102 chip, Nvidia's new self overclocking tool and the shading performance of the new cards vs Pascal: https://videocardz.com/77696/exclusive-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-editors-day-leaks

And because not everything has to be Turing, Hexus has a new global contest with an iGame GeForce RTX 2070 Vulcan X OC graphics card as the price: https://hexus.net/tech/features/graphics/121250-win-colorful-igame-geforce-rtx-2070-vulcan-x-oc/

Maybe I'll eat crow, but I still think in current games, with all the settings same, there won't be as much improvements.

Review embargos end on September 14th, so we'll know for certain in 22 days or so.

~50% is what I predicted on Discord, so this is looking pretty good to me.
