I figure we do so many prediction threads for installments in series with set precendent, that doing one for a new IP at launch with such polarized opinions would be far more fun.

... Still, there is SOME prescendent in the form of debut Sony mascot games. In the millions by order of release:

Ratchet and Clank 3.33

LBP 5.20

Absolutely none of these, though, were launch titles like Knack, which throws another curveball into the mix. So what do you think?

I'm going to say anywhere between 4-6m. I know that's a large margin, but it's what I feel the game will sell.

Who knows! We don't know that much about the game. We should wait until more gameplay videos are revealed.

Depends on the game, actually, could be ~500k, could be 5m, looking from today, i'd say about 1.5m LT.

Well since you put it that way... I think it could reach 3 million lifetime. Isn't there a knack bundle for the PS4? If so then I could see it selling this well

It'll sell over 1 million easy because it will be bundled. Look at how well resistance and motorstorm did when they were bundled from launch.
